Ouch! The RICE Cure: Rest, Ice (approx 20 min per hour), Compression and Elevation. And if you can get it, arnica (gel/cream and little pills) will help amazingly with bruising and hurting. Target carries the gel, Whole Foods has the gel and the pills.
