Hwang Seung-un kicked off her entertainment career in 2008 with an appearance with Im Jung-eun on MBC’s Introduce the Star’s Friend. The following year, she made her acting debut in the horror film Whispering Corridors 5: A Blood Pledge. In 2010, she landed her first television role in the MBC daily drama Golden Fish. In 2013, she acted alongside Ahn Jae-hong in the indie sports comedy film The King of Jokgu, which earned her a Best New Actress nomination at the 2nd Wildflower Film Awards. In 2017, she joined the MBC series Man Who Dies to Live, which gave her a Golden Acting Award nomination at the MBC Drama Awards. That same year, she was cast as one of the main characters in SBS’s Part-Time Idol. She then starred in the MBC dramas Time and When I Was the Most Beautiful, which scored her an Excellence Award nomination at the 2018 and the 2020 MBC Drama Awards, respectively.


Hwang Seung-un attended Anyang Arts High School and Kyung Hee University.
