Park Bo-gum made his acting debut in the 2011 film Blind. In 2013, he landed his first major role in the SBS family weekend drama Wonderful Mama. In 2015, he joined the KBS2 series I Remember You, which won him Best Supporting Actor at the KBS Drama Awards. That same year, he became part of the film Coin Locker Girl, which gave him a Best New Actor nomination at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards. He reached another milestone in his career when he played the genius Go board game a.k.a. Baduk player Choi Taek in the popular 2015 tvN series Answer Me 1988. In 2016, he cemented himself as a household name with his leading role in the hit KBS2 sageuk Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, which earned him the 53rd Baeksang Most Popular Actor trophy. He also received a Top Excellence Award at the KBS Drama Awards for his work in the series. In 2018, he acted alongside Song Hye-gyo in the top-rating tvN drama Boyfriend. In 2020, he starred in another tvN series called Record of Youth, opposite Park So-dam.


Park Bo-gum was named Gallup Korea’s Television Actor of the Year in 2016, making him the youngest artist to achieve such feat at 23 years old. In 2017, he became the first actor to top Forbes Korea’s Power Celebrity list.


Park Bo-gum majored in musical theater at Seoul’s Myongji University. He enlisted for his mandatory military service in August 2020 and became a licensed barber while in the military. He was discharged in February 2022.
