I’m really liking Dance Sports Girls but slightly troubled by the kind of filter used in this drama. Makes it hard to recognize faces!

What kind of award ceremony is it to have Asia at its name but only awarded Koreans? And whatsup with that many people winning the same category?

AAA2018 has some ridiculous award this year, i cackled. Junho and his Emotive Award make me go 👀👀

    6
    2

      “Emotive Award” ?🤨🤔😐😶🤣🤣🤣

      3
      1

basically AAA2018 had award-giving spree this year where everyone who attend deserve one award eventho the award has some ridiculous name lolz. here are some which sound ridiculous to me:
AOA and SHINee Minho- Brilliant Award
        Infinite L-Best Icon
        BIA4 Jinyoung-AAA Choice Award
        W24- AAA Focus Award.

but Junho and his Emotive Award take the cake lmao.

        6
        2

wow I’m speechless, after drama logic we’ve got award logic and it’s another level 😬🤣

The Fabulous Award took the cake imho. But Emotive Award is a very close second. 😂😂😂😂

          2
          0

I wonder what’s the criteria for emotive awards… the amount of emoticons used in instagram caption perhaps?🤔🤔

      6
      0

Yea, many of the award categories were really laughable and could have easily been summarized in a “Popularity Award”, but I guess they wanted to seem like they were giving awards out to everyone so that the fans wouldn’t be angry…. And yea, I agree, there’s no point calling it the “Asia Artist Awards” if the award winners are all just from K-Entertainment, BUT Taiwanese actor, Jasper Liu, did win some sort of award for this year and I guess, towards the ceremony organizers, that’s Asia-wide enough for them to keep calling this award ceremony the “Asia Artist Awards” 🤷🤷

    2
    1

The awards name is misleading. It sounds classy. But the people giving the awards are from STARNews, which screams tabloid news to me. Thus, the awards given out are like that.

      3
      1

Were STARNews just simply a sponsor of the event or were they a part of the organizers?

        2
        2

From Wikipedia: “Asia Artist Awards (abbreviated AAA) is an awards ceremony organized by South Korea-based business newspaper Money Today and its global media brands StarNews and MTN. It honors outstanding achievements and international contributions of Asian artists in television, film and music.”

          1
          0

What in surprised with is this, why did everyone attend? I’m sure they know they will get the awards beforehand, but why did they accept the win? It’s only on its 3rd year. It’s not a reputable award giving body. Will there be backlash for not accepting the win? … For the organizers, it’s a win win for them to have everyone in the same room. It’s good for PR for the artists. But for viewers at home, it seems tacky.

          1
          1

I think artists attended because it’s good PR to show support for a fairly new award night/ceremony, and it’s also good PR in a sense that it’s an award ceremony that they can attend that hasn’t had any controversy attached to it yet, and also, I think the AAA is a fan voted awards ceremony– at least that’s what I heard from a part of Lee Ji Eun’s (IU) acceptance speech. Unlike MAMA, which is a more established awards show but has been plagued with controversy year after year

If Kim Geum is the reincarnation of Ok Nam’s husband, I’m fine with it. But in this life can Yi Hyun be Ok Nam’s lover? Kim Geum is really kind and cute towards Ok Nam, but I’m not getting a lovers vibe from them. Hell I even ship Kim Geum and Jeom Soon. Ughh this drama is very confusing but yet so good!

When I first started watching TSHLYE I was prepared for whatever the ending might be. How foolish was I?

WHO IS OK NAM’S HUSBAND??? I WAS SURE IT WAS YI HYUN BUT NOW I’M THINKING IT’S THE OTHER GUY!!

1
2

I have a theory that Geum is her husband and Yi-hyun is the one who maybe probably killed the husband/made him disappear? That’s why he felt apologetic towards her daughter for having to grow up without a father? I dunno, I haven’t read the manhwa and these are just speculations…

    0

For me, episode 5 solidified that it is Geum and the last reincarnation of him looks like Yi-hyun, which seems to be the last memory that Ok Nam remembers of his physical features. Her memory of Geum as the wind God was clear as day.

I’m loving Mama Fairy and The Woodcutter! Reincarnation story has always been my kind of thing. Anyone has a drama recommendation with reincarnation as a main plot?

I’m still on the fence about it. But I only saw 1 ep, thinking of watching the second one tonight and deciding wether to stick with it.

Indonesia’s immigration office released statement saying that Lee Jong Suk misused his visa for Jakarta fanmeeting. I don’t know whether it’s true or not. But if it is true, well I just hope that Indonesian citizens are smart enought not to bash the immigration office because they are clearly just doing their work. As an Indonesian myself, I’m currently pretty pissed that many Indonesian left a bunch of hateful comment towards immigration office.
But if it isn’t true and the ones at fault is the local promotor well I’m not exactly surprised because hmm corruption is nothing new let alone tax evasion.
Hope there’s a solution for his case and I jope that Lee Jong Suk doesn’t have some sort of grudge against Indonesia.

According to Soompi, he went for a fanmeeting. The Indonesian organizers of the fanmeeting purposely didn’t report the full amount of profit (money made/tickets sold) for the fanmeeting to the government, thinking that they could pocket some of the money, that’s why the immigration office had to detain Lee Jong Suk until everything was figured out…. So it’s not the fault of the immigration office (you’re right, they’re just doing their jobs), and not Lee Jong Suk’s fault either 🙂 The fault lies in the hands of the organizers

I actually running around the internet looking for this news.
Just like @faraway said that the reason indonesian immigration detain him is that he using a travelling visa instead of working permit, and a visa-on-arrival at that.
Now, no matter how you see it, it is his own fault (well, his management could be blamed too). Like, he step on the plane without a visa, let alone working permit, when working permit need to be done beforehand.
Even if he got caught because of the promoter tax manipulation case, its still his fault.

*and i actually read somewhere (i couldnt find it anymore tho.) That his agency said that he wasnt deported, just realeased. Indonesian immigration office said that he is deported.

      2
      1

I agree with you. Not only with the visa issues, I think that the tax issues is partially his fault too since his agency is the one who choose to go with that organizer.

I wouldn’t call it sincere as he being on auto pilot of knowing what to say. He really can’t turn off the charm to show sincerity.

Act like a sweetheart if you want to be called a sweetheart

4
2

It’s a mistranslation that warrants a facepalm. Maroo didn’t say sweetheart. She called him “Hyung bu” the proper Korean term for “my older sister’s husband” or simply “brother-in-law”. It was mentioned briefly that she didn’t like him much and never ever called him that. So he was amused that he got to be called “Hyung bu” only now after he and her sister got divorced.

This scene reminded me of Forest of Secrets ep 16 when Yeo Jin wears red lipstick for the first time in front of Shi Mok and he replie with it being weird. Well I guess being called weird is much better than scary?

LOL. Shi Mok I understand. It’s a big deal he even noticed 🙂
Yeahweird is ok because you are not used to something and it look weird. You can get used to it
Or even start liking it. But scary is not good!!
