Beanie level: The Goblin’s underpants

I thought rewatching MLFAS would take my mind away from the IOTNBO ep4’s issues which restarted my issues, but I was wrong MLFAS didn’t do much. Then suddenly I found myself rewatching Hannibal season 1. Hannibal is yet to be beaten by any US production regarding the crime genre.

Hannibal was a work of Art…Bryan Fuller was great in making it a standalone series without getting Clarice….I hate MGM….if they only gave the rights to him and NBC

    1
    1

I’m actually glad NBC couldn’t get the rights. I’m relived that it ended at season 3. It couldn have been just one season and I wouldn’t have minded much. Every aspect of Hannibal was perfected

I really wanted to see Bryan Fuller make his version of Silence of The Lamb…I followed him dince Pushing Daisies and Wonderfalls…IONTBO gives me a bit of Pushing Daisies vibe to be honest

my former bias and ex member of monsta X, Wonho has announced his fandom name. The English spelling is wenee but Korean spelling of it is 위니, pronounced as wee-nee. Which led to Gi Do’s teenie weenie, which led to Moon Young nicknaming him as 아담 which led me to believe it was a very bad choice for wonho’s fandom name.

To bring distraction in my messed up life and heavy emotions, SOOmaiya will go and rewatch MLFAS for 10th time.

Today’s IOTNBO episode hit harder than yesterday’s jab at being a care-giving family member to an ill/child with special needs/gifted/handicapped member. I guess because I felt all three children’s pain today. Because I wanted to scream the same thing in the same way at that Politician. Because I have actually said that multiple times in my life.

Once again I accept that the writers ‘wrote’ a story and it’s a fiction which necessarily does not need to be THAT much meaningful or associated with life changing revelations. But I guess as Go Moon Young said fairy tales (in this case fiction) tell the grim truth about our reality and teaches us to face them straight on.

I actually wrote a bit more heavy post earlier then just moved it to my personal log because life is hard enough. Dramabeans does not need to be another place to be sorrowful.

Lastly prayers for all the children who were made to be felt useless, who were born to fulfill predetermined roles. And prayers for all to-be-parents who can be better by not turning into birth machines that make “useful stuffs’ disguised in the form of their child(ren).

It was so painful to watch Kang Tae deception when he was a child… I understand her mum being utterly worried about SangTae’s future, but it was too painful to see how she didn’t hide the fact that her main concern was that KT never gave up on his brother. Such a terrible burden to place on a child.
I was crying along with KT when he read Zombie Kid.

That scene really spoke to me. Kim Soo Hyun acted the emotions pretty well

IT IS FINALLY OUT!!!!!!!!!! I already knew right off the bat that it’s Sam Kim just from the sound of his voice, but I had to Shazam it as soon as I heard it in the drama to see if it was already out alongside the airing of Episode 3, or if it would be out today with the airing of Episode 4/end of this week’s duo of episodes 👌🏻👌🏻

All famous dramas after 2016 needs the all of some of the golden trio of OST singers Punch, Heize, Sam Kim.
Before 2016, it was LYn, davichi and Punch.

I know IOTNBO is just another drama and that they might not have connected such stories/emotions while writing the scripts. But Gang Tae\’s visible conflicting thoughts, self reassurances to fight those thoughts and resulting pain hit close to heart yesterday as I\’ve seen
similar scenario. Having a terminally ill, handicapped or gifted family member is inexplicable, especially when the love comes genuinely from heart. But when fatigue hits every cell of the brain and body after tending to their needs you cannot help but feel a bit complaining, irritated… but right after having those negative feelings, things get uglier as guilt towards that person and self loathing rushes in. It\’s really fascinating how love for kith and kin works.
Prayers for all the real life Gang Tae-s who need all the strength to love themselves and the other person they share their hearts with.

7

    It’s exactly that way.
You bare the burden because you love that person, but all your energy is drained away, no time to think because when you think it drives you crazy, whether it is how exhausted you are or what can happen in a few months.

    7

“Hypocrite.” And the reaction… really hits home! None of us are perfect, but for those still trying, still doing, god bless.

    3
    1

At one point one starts to question whether they have imposter syndrome or not when the hypocrisy, guilt, self loathing and negative thoughts reached peak.

Kim Soo Hyun was kind of able to show that self-loathing when he realized he did wish at some point(s) in his life that he was able to live a rather “conventional” life.

Beautifully said @Playstore. I remember a young boy who came to the library where I work looking for a book on cathedrals. I believe that he may have been autistic. As I was searching for the book, he would periodically ask if I’d found it yet. I would say not yet and assure him that I would find one soon. Every time he would come up to the desk and ask if I’d found a book, his mother would give “Thank-you-for-being-so-patient” look. I felt terrible at the thought that she felt concerned that I would perceive her son as bothersome. Well, I found the book, and I cannot tell you how happy he was! He opened it up and starting looking through the photographs and explaining why he loved cathedrals. When he walked away with his book tucked under his arm I felt so happy.

I wish society was more compassionate to the people who lead ‘unconventional’ lives. It’s weird how we make conventionality objective when it is not.

The boy who asked for the cathedral book is just passionate to get his book. It’s not because he’s defected or something. I think his mother also felt self conscious. Because not everyone reacted like you dear.

      1
      1

I agree, the boy was truly passionate about this topic. One of my colleagues was making an evening announcement informing patrons that we were closing soon. She told me that the same boy asked her if she was going to wish everyone a good night. He stayed at the desk until she wished everyone a good night!

I\’m really missing Joo Won on small screen. I wish they fixed a date for \’Alice\’.

I feel like they released the trailer ages ago. When is it coming?!

If I’m not mistaken Alice will air in the Fri-Sat slot. Maybe after Backstreet Rookie.

The asianwiki page doesn’t show any date yet but only the time slot

      1

Yep. I saw the slot and date (4 Sept) on twitter. Someone is sharing the tentative kdrama schedules for the year, it’s quite accurate so far. Alice was scheduled to air in Aug earlier but it has been changed to Sept.

That might be the time I go back to university which will have a killing schedule. I’m not joking, the uni authority is determined to take back weekends and holidays away. So there goes my wish of seeing Joo Won come back.

I miss him. He’s been gone so long. The others discharged last year are onto their second projects and he’s on his first. I’m glad he took his time choosing a project though, and I hope it is worth the wait!

Even if it won’t be a good one I’m happy as long as he took some time off for himself. Meanwhile I’ll go watch anything starting him except Yong pal cause that drama is a bad nut.

The drama \’big\’ will leave Netflix on July 17th. In case anybody wanted to watch it 🙊

1
2

Well I guess it’s good for everyone 😅 but how does one get to know when a show is leaving?

    0
    1

If it’s leaving in one month, the date will show once an episode is played. Otherwise Netflix releases a list of shows coming in and leaving the site. Unfortunately they don’t update it for kdramas specifically.

Thanks to the drama’s heartwarming messages and that nice ending, this ost will now cheer me up instantly whenever it will pop in my ost playlist.

Curious to know about beanies\’ answers to these:
1.post-gundae/military drama of an actor you were rooting for but failed expectations utterly
2. Unexpected mature performance of an actor post enlistment
3. Favorite \”comeback\” drama/movie

2
16

    1. It’s a tie between Hyun Bin and Gong Yoo. I don’t know which hurt me more.
    2. Lee Seung Gi. I couldn’t like him that much in his dramas as much I liked him in 2D1N. I know variety and dramas are two different genre. But in hwayugi I loved him in every scene. He made Son Oh Gong’s childish behavior much believable.
    3. Yoo Seung Ho almost earned this place with remember, but imaginary cat aired before that so that’s that.
So I will leave this one empty for my one and only Do Kyungsoo and his return to small screen in 2021.

    1
    2

I agree on Lee Seung Gi. Although I have always been a fan, I was first to admit that his line delivery and nonverbal acting weren’t that great. But he was PERFECT as Son Oh Gong.

      1.Hyde Jekyll, Me.
      2. Kang Ha-neul in When Camellia blooms.
      3. Descendant of the sun (for all the time pass reasons) or can I say Hotel Del luna for Kim Soo hyun’s cameo? 😅😅

      2
      2

Kang Ha Neul was pretty close with Lee Seung Gi. But I already liked him in misaeng and Heirs so I guess he kinda lost for already being good !? 😅

There has been so many times I have been scarred with post-gundae dramas by my favorite actors. But KSH lived up to my faith. I hope Do Kyungsoo will also make a nice drama comeback beside AWG movie.

My real name is Sumaiya, but from now on I shall spell it as Soomaiya in honor of my undying love for Kim Soo Hyun and him choosing the best script of all possible scripts for his comeback drama.

I was back but then I forgot I was back due to being a house elf thanks to the pandemic. But IOTNBO forced me to come to dramaland\’s \’it\’ place aka DB.

Now let my ranting go on

I have returned to the dramaland after a year just like the doppelgangers do. Or like the boyfriends who could not get reception in another country to check out on their girlfriends.
