Title says it all! It was previously reported that Jang Geun-seok would star in the movie version of You’re My Pet, but there was a conspicuous lack of confirmation following the initial report. Now the confirmation is out and the news is official.
The movie is based on the Japanese manga Kimi wa petto, which was turned into a Japanese drama series starring Matsumoto Jun in 2003. In this film adaptation, Jang Geun-seok’s character is a rising ballet dancer who dreams of becoming a musical actor and choreographer. He’s a playful and affectionate character who’s impossible to hate. (As if!)
Jang, who most recently played an easily irritable character in the trendy drama You’re Beautiful, said, “I always want to try new things. I wanted to take on a bright character in my next project, and You’re My Pet seems like it suits me very well.” He is currently busy with dance rehearsals before the film begins shooting.
The movie is aiming for a release later this year. No word yet on casting for the female lead, to whom Jang becomes the “pet” character.

I was really, really elated when I heard this news. Jang Geun Suk is one of the best and most versatile Korean actors I know, and he has played different kinds of roles before — somehow like Jun Matsumoto, who by the way looks different and acts a completely different role in almost every drama he appears in. I think Jang Geun Suk is the perfect man for Momo! With those curls he does look like him already:D

I feel Jang Geun Suk will make a better momo than Jun Matsumoto. I’m a fan of Japanese shows and have watched Kimi wa Petto but JGS’s depth in acting made me think the Korean version should turn out better, provided the director does a good job. And for the pet owner, since she needs to be older than her pet by a few years, I would root for Han Ye Seul, whose role in Couple or Trouble makes me think she would suit this well. Would like to see her and JGS pair up.

I hope his leading lady is Park Shin Hye or Moon Geun Young.I’ve already seen Mary stayed out all night and i love the chemistry of GeunGeun couple.But the chemistry of GUENSHIN in YB is unbeatable.We may not know,Maybe the chemistry of GeunGeun may outweigh GEUNSHIN ‘coz Mary stayed out all night is not yet done
