Here’s a look at one of the strong contenders in the upcoming Battle of the May Trendies: Lie to Me‘s stars shoot a few stills as the drama gears up for its premiere in just over two weeks. In case you’re feeling as rushed as I am about this drama, you’re not imagining it. The drama that was supposed to follow Midas in the upcoming May Monday-Tuesday slot was originally Poseidon, which began production many moons ago… it just hasn’t made much progress since. Once Poseidon got put on indefinite hold, Lie to Me, originally slated for the post-Poseidon time slot, got bumped up. Talk about lighting a fire under your ass.
That pretty much guarantees that Lie to Me will be a live-shoot drama right out of the gate, whereas most shows have at least a head start (a few episodes in the can) when the first half of the episodes air. At least we know that stars Yoon Eun-hye and Kang Ji-hwan are no strangers to the game. Let’s hope their chemistry is the instant-spark kind, and not the kind requiring months of prep. Because, uh…that option’s out the window. But they look great together in the poster still, and I have no doubt they’ll knock it out of the park in the romance department.
All said, the production has done a pretty good job of releasing stills and what they can, in lieu of the steady stream of promotional materials that usually comes before a show for months, eventually tiring us all out with over-saturation. Hm. Maybe this is better!

they gave MIDAS an extension even though they didn’t deserve it – dunno when SBS started to be happy with 12%-13%ratings nationwide
Midas is a mess of a story – the business flick not compelling enough, the love story isn’t there etc! Even though they have the nicest senior actors cameos this spring – all former actors in Jumong or Chuno-watch carefully and you’ll spot them
YEH and KJH ‘s one presence in a drama usually makes me skip the show but both? I wonder if it will cure me of my disliking for both or ban their dramas forever
the story of Lie to me sounds soooooooo good but I wait to see the execution coz Midas sounded like the ultimate drama and they delivered me this
I like it this way though, taking the drama in low profile instead of massive promos blasted here and there. This way it’ll keep my expectation low as I don’t want to get crash by dark disappointment *coughMSOANcough*

i never like the thought of liveshoot but at the same time i’m SO EXCITED for this drama. great leads! i hope the chemistry, story, producer, etc is jsut as good, i don’t want to be disappointed and i’m trying to keep my expectations low (but it is rather difficult lol)

With the drama drought i’ve been going through these past months i thought i’d go back and rewatch an oldie. Settled on My Girl because it had a 4.5 rating on DC which is highly unusual – most dramas on there have a 2.5-3.5 rating and i’m really, really glad i did. My Girl was probably the first kdrama i watched and i’d forgotten most of the happenings when i started so i’ve had some big laughs while watching (when the hero starts crying because he thinks his grandpa’s dead for example, and the heroine explains how the machine has to go “diiiiiiiii” for the person to be dead. )
I loveee My Girl. Omg, I just love that scene you just mentioned. It was so funny! Classic Hong Sisters humor. That’s why I’m kind of looking forward to Best Love more than Lie to Me. But it does come at a close second.
My girl is my first drama..that is why even with all LDH bad publicity..she will maintain a soft spot in my heart…:) I got the urge to watch that scene you mentioned…it was sooo funny…lol

We really cannot lose with this team of actors, writers, directors.
MSOAN was a hot mess, but they didn’t have a whole cast of folks who can carry a drama.
Well, YEH has done it before, just not the last time,MFL was a bomb, but YEH was playing against type.
And Secret Garden had its problems, but most of us would have watched that pairing watch paint dry.
YEH’s MFL might not have done as well as her other series but she never fails in terms of ratings.
YEH’s MFL was up against high budget , star studded series Swallow The Sun yet it still managed to get double digit ratings despite of the messy script. Had it been another actress cast in MFL, with that awful script, it would never have reached 19.4%. So I wouldn’t say that MFL was a bomb cause in ratings it was far from bombing.
I still remember the scriptwiters and MFL PD apologizing to YEH for the mess they had created.
I have a lot of faith in ‘Lie To Me’, cause the PD ‘s in this are really good and Kim Ye Ri the writer was selected through a tough process.
Take note: though it says Kim Ye Ri was the writer for Heading To the Ground, she actually was just the assistant to head writer Kim Sol Ji and she left without working on Heading To The Ground, due to disagreement with Kim Sol Ji cause she didn’t agree with the way the script was written.
SG was an all-around mess; can chalk the popularity of that one to the 2 leads.
As for YEH’s dramas, the only one of real merit is “Coffee Prince” (tho, it may very well be the best all-around rom-com done thus far).
“Goong” was a huge hit but unless one is a teen girl, I don’t see how one could overlook the subpar writing and acting.

Let’s hope production pulls off a good series. Both stars’ last ventures (Coffee House & My Fair Lady) were not on my list of favor dramas, and I don’t blame the actors one bit. They have little or no control over production and writing. So, fighting on this new series.
“CH” was pretty entertaining, albeit in a quirky way.
The dialogue was pretty decent and there were a no. of great, funny lines/retorts (even the zany antics of “Jung Woong in’s character” was pretty humorous and not simply annoying).
Park Si Yeon certainly opened a lot of eyes w/ her endearing portrayal in “CH.”
The biggest issue w/ “CH” was the fact that its fun, quirky side didn’t mesh too well w/ the darker, depressing side which existed in the flashbacks – but at least it explained why KJH’s character was so strange.
“MFL” otoh was simply unwatchable.

It’s not the first time people said they remind her of Miley Cyrus. She had a photoshoot before that does kind of remind me of her. Probably because of her hair there.

All I have to say is that I haven’t seen a “marriage contract/fake marriage” etc etc series that I have not fallen in love with. I don’t know why – but time and time again… I just think they are hilarious. Watching one in the TW world and I’m hooked – one episode per week is a killer. So I know with YEH and KJH — I’m gonna get hooked too.
2 episodes a week but boy, the waiting is sure a test in patience. Fighting!!
Actually Best Love sounds really interesting too, but I’m not really digging CH yet. Hopefully that one surprises me.
