haha, celexa! it sure was one big sleep-depriving, eye-bag errr eye-luggage-inducing, adrenaline-pumping parteeeee...some even resorted to banging cymbals to stay awake...and there was a bunch back there that came down hard by soju-drinking, there was even a battle of the heights of their idols, and ramen-eating-spree-while-on-roller-coasters stuff...my damaged memory cant take everything in :-)

Samgetang, you forget to mention the epic battle of succession between our Royal Highness, and Queenscircle, his estranged sister from another kingdom!

And there was an honest to god serious, discussion, about LVADs and heart surgery, and I am sure I forgot a few things! :P

woah. Just reading that gives me a headache. :(
I hope those don't include glittery-flickery things.

no sparkly tracksuits now to divert us...unless you count Ah Jung's father's knock-offs in Best Love ;-)

I can handle that. Just don't show me speedos covered in sequins and I'mma be fine. :) Esp. when they're not on Dokko Jin or The Hand Towel. Or *gasp* The Moon.

I'm pretty sure the battle was one-sided :)
And the spectators were more excited than actual battling kingdoms *cough* MJPandViolaandpopcorn *cough*

Saw it in free previews. I wasn't impressed and glad I didn't pay money for it. I'm sure some ppl will feel it is Very Deep, but while it had potential I thought it was kinda lame. On the other hand, it did spark a lot of conversation betw. me and Mom for a few weeks as new ideas concerning the movie and our own beliefs kept popping up.

I feel like they could've done a lot better than the magic hats and doors and it's kinda silly if you really think about it. But the overall message is pretty thought-provoking.

Okay, so I haven't started watching City Hunter yet, but I just watched Love Actually (yes *just*. I'm not really a movie buff) and realised that the cute white boy in the photos from Thailand is Sam, the little boy in the movie. Never knew! Hahah.

wow really? wasn't he the little boy in august rush too? I loved love actually! I loved love actually! I also really like hugh grant's work. mentioning love, actually is making sad about the poor excuses for rom-coms we get these days.

Well, I don't see his name listed as a cast member but he really really really looks like him, whose name btw, is Thomas Sangster.

Speaking of rom-coms, I'm a total sucker for them. The last one I watched in the cinema was Valentines Day, which is very similar to Love, Actually. Another which has a similar flow is He's Just Not That Into You.

But yeah, Hollywood rom-com plot lines are just like the tropes we often see on KDramas. I love them all the same but I would like to see something fresh, for once. Any recommendations?

Oh and I forgot to say: I absolutely *heart* the love story between Aurelia and Jamie. And the part where Sarah is hugged by her brother opened my floodgate of tears.

Required fields are marked *

the thomas sangster is not the august rush guy. I haven't seen city hunter yet it's premiering in two weeks. I read the first two episodes to see if I would watch it though. Unfortunately I can't recommend too many modern romances. I really love Once but the ending FITS but isn't necessarily happy. I can possibly recommend a million rom-coms from 1930 to 1955 I think those from '56 onwards were too conscious, maybe even realistic. Sorry, I like my pictures to be fantastic. I think anything made during war time america is just the thing.

Wheeee - Kdrama fans rock!
How much am I loving the "Puuuppppyy" header?! Seung-gi
is total cuteness. Let's all PINCH THOSE CHEEKS!!

Here's an new observation from my camp.
It's a question that comes up in almost EVERY Kdrama.
WHAT THE HECK IS WITH ALL THOSE STUFFED TOYS?!?!

They're everywhere. Even my beloved City Hunter has been invaded. Nana's apartment is riff with them and to add insult to injury, while watching LMH packing his suitcase to move to Nana's, what do I see behind him?!
An ENORMOUS, HARVEY-SIZED rabbit. What the hey is with the Korean fascination for these dust-collectors?

Seriously, the only one I ever appreciated was the giant, stuffed chicken leg that the Gumiho got from her (and our!) sweetie!

Answers? Anybody??

well.. obviously, the stuff toys are the best tools a production teams could come up with that is affordable and space consuming to make the set look more 'homey' and less empty. They were probably running low on money for the set so they decided 'why not fill the walls with stuffed toys? and maybe all the crazy fans with a sharp eye would take notice and go buy these stuffed toys and we can get some money out of the companies for 'indrect advertisement' " ;)

OR it could incidentally be that even the toughest of characters or the baddest of the bad asses need something to cuddle up with at night ;) besides brownie points for having cute actors situated next to a cute stuffed toy :) case in point.. the pig rabbit :D

Pig-rabbit. Heh. Over at DramaFever, they posted a pic of a cake someone brought in for the staff - and it was a Pig-Rabbit cake.

You're right - I didn't stop to think about the reasons for the cheap set-dressing. So, it's like product placement here in the U.S.?

I find it rather off-putting because (to me) it's babyish and distracting - cause now I'm fixating on looking for them in scenes instead of concentrating on the action...bah!

Just when you think that the information highway is limitless, along comes this. Do you get DramaCrazy or Mysoju? I know that DramaFever added a bunch of dramas to Hulu. Get that?

I don't understand why dramabeans is not putting news about You've Fallen For Me/Heartsrings. I've seen two teasers and a lot promotional stills already. Oh well, maybe dramabeans won't recap it. Haahahahahah

Anyways, just dropping by to say that I LOVE your recaps on 1N2D..you guys rock!

Since it looks like we're still jumping, even on the third page (woohoo!) I think I can ask these two verrrry small favors and be confident of getting at least one response. *crosses fingers anyway*

I can't remember who, but last week someone mentioned how they became drama-addicted and many of us added our own stories to the thread. Or maybe it was the week before. My brain, she does not remember so well. Anywho, that made me wonder (in a very circuitous way) how everyone came to be here, at Dramabeans. I was trying to get into Revenge of the Gumiho by looking up what a gumiho was. I thought it was a fox, but all my fox-mythology was Native American and African American centered. So I did some research...and ended up here :) Of course the entry was for My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, but that's not important.

So how did you guys end up on DB?

And for my second request: I need female Korean names. Whole names, including family names. I do this on occasion when I'm stuck for a name for a character; I'll ask ppl I know to just give me a list of names. When I find one that fits, I'll know. It'll just work. Until then I'll keep picking up and putting down names until I can hardly remember which char is which. Baby name sites are sometimes helpful, but not so much with the Korean names this time :(

So, please, any and every Korean name you can think of...throw'em at me! Laundry lists are gold. I'm also tempted to look for English names, too, so if you're feeling up to that as well (the Korean name is more important) I won't be upset :)

But, really, how did you find DB?

I was watching the weekend drama definitely neighbors but then stopped paying my cable bill ( cat food is expensive!) and none of the online episodes were subbed. So I googled recaps, definitely neighbors and ended up with dramabeans because the weekly drama schedule is listed and there are recaps. Well of course it wasn't here (definitely neighbors you know). The first two recaps I read were for I am legend, and probably mary stayed out all night. I'm sure many of you have similar stories of being sleep deprived and none of your friends understanding.

Since I'm here, I'm thinking about how the translations/subs are so helpful and unhelpful. I'm watching Royal Family now and ji hoon is being referred to as young man but the subs say you/your. I'm going crazy because I'm trying to translate it literally while watching but I'm addicted to pronouns. I'm generally of the opinion that english is a bad language we should be haughtier or less familiar with others, but I also don't want to go around saying things like thou and thee. I wish to be able to properly speak a korean sentence in english without thinking I'm doing something wrong. I also wish to stop thinking of korean in terms of english.
Is it possible?

Required fields are marked *

I think one of the signs of really being fluent in another language is that you don't translate in your head. You just think in the other language. You totally switch, y'know? My music teacher is Eastern European and has done this so well betw his native language and English that he's actually not a good translator! I know, random right?

0

I do that with English, too (not my first or native language). Wish I could do that with Mandarin Chinese and Korean, too. And Spanish and French as well (which I learned in school).

Required fields are marked *

Me too, English is not my native language and whenever I'm in a position to translate from my native language to English or Vice Versa I'm at such a loss, I keep telling people I understand the word but I can't get a meaning for it in the other language

0

I speak several languages myself and what Tinpra said it's true. My brain is hot-wired to think in that language whenever I'm speaking in that particular language.
It's fun to be multilingual but when it comes to translating, I'm as slow as the plot development in a bad drama.

and you know how slow plot movements get the worst snarky comments and remarks around kdrama afficionados...

likewise...that's why I dont dare dream to help out in the subtitles...the drama has probably ended even before i could get the subs out for the first episode ;-) and Im talking about the 30-episoder...

hmmm I don't know, I might be one of the older (in time spent following not age) readers since I remember having Haunted? Stalked? Staked? Javabean's blog back in the day and then continued on to the website. Back then I didn't comment, or anything though I did read a lot, and I tended to ignore OT because I was very focused on only dramas and related info - Also back then I was still in my teens, can you believe it? haha So yeah I used to feel intimidated by my unnies... hahaha

I can't quite remember how I came to find JB but I remember that it was a result of me being on a rebound - haha I used to be a major j-drama fan with the occasional K-pop (DBSK, SJ ) and k-drama sneaking in to my to-watch list (Stairway to Heaven, Tree of Heaven, etc).

But yeah I had watched too much JDrama at the time so I was looking around for something new something that wasn't as tear jerking sad as a lot of the J-drama's tended to be at the time and I found JB who blogged and ranted and shared info about less melo and more lighthearted dramas and I became addicted... very much so. I haven't gotten fed up with k-dramas or javabeans writing even after all these years :) hahahaha

I found DB when I was looking for the synopsis for a drama. Which drama, I cannot recall, but it was way before DB had its own website and all...maybe about 5 years or so ago?

I used to only read the recaps and ignore the comments below, and even the OT...can you believe that?! Hahah. But I discovered the fun on the OT a year ago it was only this year that I crossed from being a lurker to posting comments. :D

wow really? I've seen at least 51 dramas in their entirety and maybe 5 or 6 I started but didn't finish k-dramas. I've seen 7 j-dramas ( that number surprised me) 1 taiwanese one 1 chinese I've been watching since july or august 2009 I feel embarrassed by that number but I'll make the excuse that most of them were more than 16 episodes. Movies I've seen only one korean movie my wife got married. I didn't even recognize joo sang ook when I saw him again. I also watched a bit of arahan.

0

For whatever reason I tend to be a kdrama monogamist. So far I've only watched 1 at a time, albeit fanatically. And life (and other arty pursuits) has gotten in the way, so I don't spend as much time on them as I could. It's hard to watch a drama and post to an RP board and work on fic and read fanfiction simultaneously :s Which really isn't fair. I really, really wish TKC and the other Korean channel would have semi-normal programming, then I could at least do 2 of those things at once.

0

Okay,

I actually went and did a count of what I could remember. From August 2010 to May 2011.

K/J/C/Tw/Dramas
170

K/J/C/Tw/Movies
58

Please Note: Not everything was watched in it's entirety. If I didn't like it I would stop. If it had boring parts, I would skip them.

In order to do this, I loose sleep... I have had to cut back a bit due to migranes, now alleviated. But I am hoping to cut back even more, but since I am an addict... There are no guarantees.

0

tinpra,

Yeah, I'm not quite sure what to think about my addiction either...

I am currently watching:

Can You Hear My Heart (Sat-Sun)
Drunken To Love You (Sun)
Lie To Me (Mon-Tues)
Baby-Faced Beauty (Mon-Tues)
Sweet Palpitations/Pitipat (Mon thru Fri)
Best Love (Wed-Thurs)
Romance Town (Wed-Thurs)
Love Keeps Going (Sun?) *New*
Secret Garden (I originally started it mid way after reading the DB recaps, so I am starting to watch the beginning episodes now. I am up to and finished Ep 3.)

I ended:
Manny (Finished)
You're So Pretty (Writing not to my liking, acting very good)
Rebound (Poor writing, good acting)

I wasn't going to pick up anything new, but I read about Love Keeps Going on Koala's Playground and got sucked in immediately. Mike He... Oh Baby!!!

So, I really don't want to get into anything new like City Hunter or Miss Ripley. However, ck1Oz has already got me hooked on some up and commers though. Skip Beat/Extravagant Challenge and Scent of a Woman.

Wow, this reply is getting too long and I must get lunch ready as we have places to go and playing to do (toddlers, you know.)

Have a great rest of your day! :-)

0

WOW MJP,
I'm extremely impressed, but I should second you on trying to cut down, migraines are intolerable and I really hate to hear that you get them.

I get them too and i can tell you it only gets worse, so you REALLY need to cut down that list of 9 DRAMAS AT THE SAME TIME.

Hope you get your fix migraines free.

0

MsScorpion,

Thanks ever so much for your care and concern. It is greatly appreciated! :-)

In theory I'm writing a fanfic for The Woman Who still Wants to Marry. It takes place during that interstitial period when Ha Min Jae and Lee Shin Young "break up" while she's in Finland. One of the sections of the story involves members of Ha Min Jae's band and the band that's going to be the opener for his concert series. Some of the girls need names. Actually, some of the guys need names, too, now that I think about it.

You seem to have a thing for "In Na," your highness ;P

Actually this kind of list is exactly what I'm looking for. My friends on LJ have gotten used to me asking for name-lists and simply reply with name after name after name.

I also seem to keep coming back to names with "Min" in them. Maybe I should just stop trying to avoid it and let the poor girl have her name.

0

Yoo In Na is my favorite name!
I wanna name my daughter In Na, in fact.

Min is nice. Use it :)

0

So let it be written....

Hmmm....In Na the Royal Highness. It has a certain ring to it. I'll keep it in mind for some of the other female characters.

0

Hi there Ricky the Royal Highness! this is my first time saluting our OT Royalty!

sorry about the lack of manners but since I hail from two different lands that separated from their kings because of not wanting to pledge allegiance to a single all powerful ruler I am seriously lacking in courtly manners- I apologize.

Anyways... I am pretty sure that DB does have Personal Taste recaps... they were awesome as usual- (btw how could JB and GF miss out on Minho hotness?) here's the link to the first one:

http://www.dramabeans.com/2010/04/personal-taste-episode-1/

and in this recap list you can find the rest

Hello Minnetter :) Nice to finally greet each other.

I don't know a thing about proper court manners. I'm a bad black sheep rebel who makes the King & Queen cough in embarrassment with my inappropriate out-bursts.

You see, I have the memory of a 100-year-old man. But I'm pretty sure I didn't read the Personal taste recaps here in DB.

So that means How Exactly I Discovered Dramabeans remains a mystery. Hmm, interesting...

Oh, and please don't ask me anything about Lee Min Ho. The Speedo of Power might turn me into an evil black magic practitioner and I would start cursing him. Trust me, it happened before! And a certain Viola was unhappy.

Thanks for the links yeah.

How did i find DB? I just started watching drama June 2010. It was about July when i was looking for anything about Coffee Prince. I discovered that there was a recap every episode and i enjoyed reading them. I indeed up reading all the recaps instead of watching the drama. Hehehe... It was well written and very witty. Thanks JB, you made my kdrama watching such a delight.

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho was the first kdrama i watched while it was airing in Korea. Waiting and being excited for the recap was the best thing.

Last year, I got re-introduced to K-drama tro a mobile app on which I caught You're Beautiful. I haven't been following k-dramas or any dramas for that matter since Autumn in My Heart. I got so into You're Beautiful that I was obssessively surfing for more info on the show when I came across DB. Been hooked ever since - check this site at least once a day. I love the way DB and GF write the recaps and commentaries. It's been a great resource, introducing me to other Hong sisters' dramas, as well as classics like Coffee Prince, Bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, What's up Fox.

If I remember it right, I only discovered DB in the middle of 2010. That's when mysoju wasn't feeding my kdrama obsession enough. So I resorted to searching for recaps.

The first time I joined in with the conversion (a.k.a. un-lurking) was during the airing of Sungkyungkwan Scandal. T'was the Moon that shone the light on me and exposed me to this world of crazy noonas (and oppas) who can't get enough of and talk enough about kdramas.

Ever since, I've been a regular here with a few times of hiatus - to tend to real life. :)

It's like what Hotel California says: "You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave."

I started reading Dramabeans in November of 2009, when I was teaching and I wanted to know what happened next but I couldn't watch dramas over my lunch break. I can't remember what drama I was watching, but I found the recaps in Dramabeans. I didn't start commenting until July of 2010, and then Lahlita and Viola claimed me as their unnie, and I've been here ever since!

I found Dramabeans through Google.

I remember coz it wasn't a long time ago, I was watching coffee prince and there was this particular scene that I couldn't understand at all from the subs no matter how many times I read them over and over and I desperately wanted to know what they're saying, so I thought maybe someone out there in the cyber world wrote recaps for the episodes and HALLELUJAH there it was.

Yes, bunny. I'm quite a character in reality. I'm not exactly easily forgettable. Which is just a nice way of saying that I'm bonkers, really.

She said she was lurking around in the OT for a few weeks and read all she needed about me. Ricky is my nickname at home and Royal Highness IS my 'title' among friends (friends who said that I'm suuuch a Prince).
Other friends have names like Agent Tattletale, Sister Vigilante, Saint Gut-Less, Master Innocent and Oracle :)

ha ha. so it is, is it? I like people with friends with cool nicknames. I never nicknamed my friends but I was always nicknamed bugsbunny, bunbake, bunny, bonnie, bonbon, nannygoat (medium story). I think because I was always nicknamed I don't nickname others.

nannygoat is GOOD!

My friends and I adopt nicknames because we want to be stealthy when we chat online. Plus, it's really fun when the nickname and the person fit together like a glove (like Sister Vigilante who is paranoid all the time), but it's more fun when the name doesn't fit (like Master Innocent who plans all manner of schemes but is a master at playing the I'm-not-guilty game)

Do you want a nickname? Countess Foresight, Lady Luggage-eye, Duchess Snarky are still available. Hehe

0

Countess Foresight sounds wise. Duchess Snarky sounds spunky. But Lady Luggage-eye, that's just so picturesque...errr visually graphic, haha!

Can't choose they are all soo...royalty ;-)

0

Haha..

I don't usually ask this 'cause it seems to be so cheesy. But if you were to choose a word to describe yourself, what would it be?

We can start from there before we come up with a suitable name for you, samgetang.

0

Actually, I want Lady Gaga's handle for me-self, hehe.

She really got it, that girl. I mean putting together two so conflicting words is pure genius ;-)

But since she already has sole proprietary rights to that name....

Lemme see... about myself? me? crazee? silly? cant think....out of focus...sleepy...

*scratches head...dazed look*

0

oh, no wonder...its already midnight in our side of the planet...can i sleep on it, YRH? ;-) names are such important stuff...it can make our break your future...

0

it's around midnight here in my kingdom too.

Right, sleep on it. Frankly I can't answer one-word quizzes myself.

Lady Gaga's name is creative to boot!

0

LOL. I forgot to change my handle!

*changes NOSINESS to highness*

Heh :)

Stated Facts:
1. Getting RTRH's phone number from ???
2. Finding out that RTRH is hanging out on DB from ???.
3. Lurking on OT for a couple of weeks, gathering information about RTRH.
4. Doing all this, even though she is just an acquaintence.

My Opinion:
1. This person appears not to have respect for RTRH.
2. This person appears to have serious boundary issues.
3. This person appears to have psychological issues.
4. This person appears to have a need to display herself and her power/knowledge once attaining this data.
5. This person appears to desire only self-gratification.

Rhetorical Questions:
1. If a woman is attracted to a man, is this the ROUTINE way to communicate intrest?
2. Does a man want a woman who acts in this manner?
3. Is it even appealing to a man to see a woman act in this manner?

Personal Comments:
I don't know everything and I could totally be wrong, but "butter" just rubbed me the wrong way. Totally the wrong way. I am really concerned, (the Mom in me) that this isn't the end of it for RTRH. I hope, hope, hope that I am totally wrong!!!! Really, I do.

I appreaciate your concern, MJP.
Please don't fret.

She got my number from a mutual friend, she has always been a silent DB and OT visitor (waaay before I started posting in the OT) and when she saw my handle for the first time she was curious. Her curiosity was further tempted after reading the OT for several weeks and finding more info about me (and finding that the info 'fit' this person whom she knows). So she then decided to 'approach' me.

Although her method was not proper, she could have just texted me instead of posting in the OT, I'm partly to blame IMO.
1. I shouldn't have given out too many personal information which could reveal my real identity.
2. I should have chosen a different handle. The name Royal Highness is really rather well-known in our friendship circle.

I had a talk with butter a few days ago. The real face-to-face kind and she explained everything to me. She's back to being a silent visitor(which she prefers) and she could probably be reading this at this moment. She's apologetic and I'm very forgiving :)
So, be nice, people!

The matter has already been solved and I would be very happy if everyone here in the OT would just forget the whole thing and never mentioned the identity dilemma again.

Oh before I forget...
she's not my type :)

You care, therefore I'm touched.

0

Awww. MJP, this is so sweet! We always know you are a caring soul here in DB! I went back several OT before this one when I came back after a long hiatus and I read that you were looking for me then. So, really felt your sincere concern for everyone here. Im sure HRH Ricky knows where you are coming from. Im not too familiar with Butter...have not read her posts here in its entirety...but Im sure she would not have caused you to raise your hackles without due reason. For that we are touched. And we hope she would understand, if ever she reads this.

Thank you for being you!

Nitpicking CSW time!

Is it just me or has anyone here noticed the unusual shape/size of CSW's fingernails? It bothered me a bit (back in City Hall) that his fingernails are a bit at odds with the rest of his body, e.g., height, large hands.
There are so many shots of his hands in Best Love and in Ep12, his feet were also shown so got a peek at his toenails, too, which thankfully matched his fingernails.
Oh, well, at the moment I am no longer bothered. Even finding the fingernails/toenails as sexy as the rest of him.

Nitpicking Yoo In Na time!

When Pil Joo first saw Se Ri during his date and he was looking at her posture *cough her behind cough* I froze the screen and umm...made my own evaluation, then I played the scene again in slow motion, to make an extensive re-evaluation.

After 5 repetitions, I realized that I didn't register anything Pil Joo said. So I had to repeat the whole scene again! Heh :p

0

0

I think my ability to focus malfunctioned when I discovered dramas. Next thing I knew, global warming came knocking and someone named Bustin Jieber is the new IT.

0

looks like drama-watching is not just focus-damaging but also vision-tunneling...which is so conflicting. it wrecks your sense of balance and sense of time all at once...

0

yeah, I noticed too. His hand is nice and big and his fingers are a good length and look pretty strong but his fingernails are pretty oddly shaped. Agree with Noi that he could be a nailbiter though likely a reformed one since his nails didn't look chewed on! On the topic of hands, I love Lee Min Ho to bits but seem to recall his hands don't look too manly.

I started watching SSH's Ghost In Your Arms Again after clicking on the link you gave, MJP. But, my broadband connection faltered after the middle of the 3rd part. The film got the tone of Jfilms, quiet and less talk, except when the ever-famous theme song of the original film burst into chorus. I had to suppress my laughter, it felt so '90s. The opening scene was interesting when Nanami slapped Juno (SSH's character)...immediately gets your attention. SSH looks believable as the potter-artist Korean who is in Japan studying for, well, pottery arts ;-) It was sooo funny reading the comments in dramacrazy how ppl are so looking forward to the film. It made me double-take 'cause I was the same only to realize when I started viewing it how cheesy the film's premise is especially when you've already seen the original and know beforehand how it is going to turn out. Not many people actually like to watch anything where the leads will die. But for some reason, this film has been most watched and now even remade. I guess its okay as long as the lead will remain in our views as ghosts and still be able to interact with his/her love interest in the film. Curious how this version will unfold...

*slinks back to ghost mode*

samgetang,

I started watching it too late night/early morning. I have to say I was disappointed. Not in SSH, but with the writing and a bit with the female lead. The characteristics/personality of her character didn't seem to mesh with the actress, in my humble opinion. But it was pretty cheesey. :-) I watched some of Part 1, some of Part 2 and then skipped to the End to watch the ending. I think it would have been much better writing on the ending if they would have killed off SSH's character. Again, just my opinion. It would have been truly Japanese and made more of a fitting ending.

Well, again I am taking too long and my son is looking for his lunch. I must go!!!

hi MJP,

i knew it! the film was cheesy but i heard that it raked good number of tickets in the cinemas. well, we cant blame 'em -- SSH is just a joy to watch...err i cant decide whether its his abs/biceps or his dimples/eyelashes that i should take first notice. how about all? haha! the treatment of the movie about the reason for the death of Nanami is quiet clever. Agree with you MJP, there seems to be a disconnect somehow with the two main leads although SSH did a fine job in the emo scenes especially when he saw the pottery made by Nanami after she died and how he held it close to him...he was good there. how Nanami cant say' I Love You' back to Juno is a nice treatment, too...but felt like it was not completely fleshed out, blame it on a 1.5 hr-film as opposed to more time to do so in a drama series. Anyway, the film feels like fanservice from start to finish...that's how distracting SSH's gorgeousness is...you cant get get past that and into his character and the story. maybe it is all because of me after all, hehe. Next time I will just content myself with checking out his photos in the magazines, that way I wont have to blame him from distracting me from any film/drama. he will be the story i will read, dissect and analyse :-)

Hope your son had a delicious and filling lunch ;-)

The actresses all delivered the characters were great. This drama is the best I've seen this year and I really liked 49 days and I do like best love but for me royal family is the best.

0

!!!!!!!Total Royal Family Spoiler Alert!!!!!!!

Well, think about it... He, Ji Hoon-i was definitely one smart cookie. He was able to track down and convict the person who framed him for killing someone. He also was able to figure out all the lies behind the Royal family. Don't you think he was able to figure the old hag would try to off them? Why else would he take flying lessons? Also, why is it that only the two of them were reported missing and not the pilot of the helecoptor? It should have been 3 persons if the death plot was successful. Also, he left a letter for his mother stating:

There is one thing that I must tell you so I left this letter. I am now in a fight with a huge dinosaur. Although it's a hard struggle, I will not be consumed by the large dinosaur. Who am I? To a mother, I am a son, Ji Hoon. No matter what happens, I will not go down with the dinosaur. Therefore, Mother, no matter what bad news you have heard that said I was destroyed by the dinosaur, don't believe it. Even if the world argues that I am dead, don't believe it.

I believe they had to fake their deaths in order to be free from the Royal family. (I had to watch the ending four times to get this all figured out.)
