Suffocating best friends in Fight My Way’s new teaser

We have another teaser released for KBS’s new friend rom-com Fight My Way, along with character descriptions of the two supporting friends. Fight My Way stars Park Seo-joon (Hwarang) and Kim Ji-won (Descended From the Sun) as childhood best friends who are more like warring brothers and sisters who stick up for each other when it counts. Ahn Jae-hong (Answer Me 1988) and Song Ha-yoon (My Daughter Geum Sa-wol) are their best friends, but they are also a couple going on six years. The character descriptions released delve a little more into these two characters.

Ahn Jae-hong’s character is an assistant manager at a home shopping company. He became a full-time employee mostly because of his girlfriend Song Ha-yoon’s devotion to him, but he has gotten into a state of listlessness in their relationship and everything she does starts to bother him. Then, one day, one of the new employees makes a move on him and he realizes he may no longer love Song Ha-yoon. About his character, Ahn Jae-hong said he wants to express the real love and uneasy feelings that come from the familiarity of dating for a long time.

Song Ha-yoon plays Sul-hee, who is loyal, warmhearted, and full of understanding. Many people think she is naïve about the world, but in actuality she is a serious person who is devoted to love. Song Ha-yoon has said that she feels pure while acting as Sul-hee and that Sul-hee’s existence is just lovely. Aw, I love her.

In the newest teaser we see Park Seo-joon emerge from the shower in a towel, singing at the top of his lungs. He’s startled and covers up when he sees Kim Ji–won looking all kinds of comfortable in his home. He yells, “Hey, didn’t I tell you to tell me before just putting in the password?!” She just nonchalantly says, “I told you to change your password.”

We are then blessed with several other scenes of their bickering friendship, as she suffocates him when he nods off on the bus, and he steals a pillow out from under her, only to have her use his arm as a pillow instead. But we see the true strength of their friendship when some men are harassing Kim Ji-won, and Park Seo-joon quickly leaps into action to protect her.

I love how this show is going to explore a blossoming love with Park Seo-joon and Kim Ji-won, as well as a longtime relationship with Song Ha-yoon and Ahn Jae-hong. Ah, this show is pulling at my heartstrings already.

KBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama Fight My Way is set to premiere on May 22.

He looks like he's been working out too. I don't recall him being that buff in She Was Pretty.

I don't remember how he looked in She Was Pretty, but he definitely had a nice body in Hwarang. Me and my mom had to pause a couple times to umm appreciate.

I also noticed her eyebrows just from the screencaps. They look different there and better in the other scenes.

HAHAHA I love Kim Ji-won. It's the newly trending eyebrow tattoo. So you draw the ink, leave it on for a while then peel it off, and voila you get perfectly drawn natural looking eyebrows. The fact that she does her eyebrows in his house means she's comfortable with looking silly in front of him, and that's the mark of a real guy-girl friendship. OMG I love them already and they have a really good chemistry to boot, I need this drama now!!!

The supporting friends' story is interesting. I hope the drama explores it in a good way.

Glad the romance is not going to be a love square.

I didn't realise they are a couple (was TOO excited by the leads), but IRL, people who has dated for 6 years don't act all lovey dovey though?

Anyways, cannot wait for this!

Park Seo Joon! I loved him in Hwarang! What I really liked about him is that he seemed so uninhibited! He just really got into his character whether he looked cool or not! Was prettt or not! (Of course he is always pretty no matter what!) I love that he is not afraid to show, shall we say, any sides of him...There is a rawness to him that I am not finding in other actors. Looking forward to this drama and can't wait to see more of him! Looks like it will be fun, and Park Seo Joon can be really funny!

These trailers are really setting my expectations high!! They look so good together and already have amazing chemistry! Park Seo Joon is really good comedically, everyone should check him out in Witch's Romance! My favorite role of his to date! And I about DIED when I saw him in an old episode of Running Man recently. He's so stinkin' adorable... I can't. I die.

Witch's Romance was the first time I saw him and his role in it is still my favorite out of all his other dramas.

I didn't know he guested on RM! I need to look that up. :D

The last voiceover by Dongman says, "Starting now, wherever you go, tell them you have a boyfriend." was the best part of the trailer for me. This drama is definitely fit for my summer.

That shirtless scene has sold me on this drama.

All kidding aside, the relationship between Park Seo-joon and Kim Ji-won already looks adorable. I can feel the chemistry just from the teaser. I wasn't really interested in this originally, but seeing the chemistry and knowing it's a friends-to-lovers story has definitely made me eagerly anticipate this.

Definitely hope that the friends to lovers storyline is more similar to the Reply series rather than The Time I Loved You (which was total disappointment considering how much I looked forward to it). This type of plot on paper always sounds extremely appealing to me because when it's executed well, then it can be absolutely heartwarming and giddy at the same time. i'm literally on cloud nine for the rest of the day lol. Yet, it can totally flop if the timing, chemistry or character development is off in any way. I find that this kind of relationship is harder to depict in dramas than the usual meet-cute scenario or bickering frenemies or even guy/girl with ulterior motives or hidden agenda (revenge genre)... The couple has to be believable as both besties and lovers, the rship transition gotta be natural and logical, not jarring or awkward.
