Drama viewership ratings for the week of Mar. 30-April 5, 2020

This week’s ratings are all over the place — up high and down low. I gotta tell you, though, that the majority of shows are still working with low numbers. At the beginning of the week, drama A Piece of Your Mind took quite a dip, settling around 1 percent. Thriller Nobody Knows dipped as well, but it’s still going strong around 9 to 10 percent. Then midweek, poor Welcome barely managed to hold onto the small audience it already had. The bright spot in this slot was Hospital Playlist, close to hitting those double digits.

The first half of the week may have had some trouble, but at least the weekend pulled through (as always). The biggest thing to note was A Couple’s World, which is already close to beating Itaewon Class’s highest rating — in only its second week! You do the damn thing, Show! Break them records! Not sure if you can beat current ratings king SKY Castle, but it doesn’t hurt to try. Meanwhile, Hi Bye, Mama!, another popular cable show, decided to postpone episodes 13 and 14 because of the ongoing pandemic.

wow, a cable show ‘a couple world’ has reached 14% in 4 eps? that’s a monsteeerr rating!
After following the live recap of this show’s first ep on dramamilk, I tried watching right into ep 2, and really couldn’t bring myself to continue watching the next ep, it’s storyline is just too much for my taste, the anguish and anxiety i felt during my watch has stopped me to continue, that husband is really a horrible horrible man :((
so I’ll stick to the live recap and DB’s weecap, because let be honest, eventhough I’m not watching it, I really really need to know how the story unfold and the best laid plan of revenge crafted by the wife..bring it on, show!

Personally, the drama I look forward to every week the most is I'll find you in my memory. It's really an amazing piece right balance of emotions to keep me warm on thr inside this period. I'm happy with a couple's world, I quite anticipated it's high ratings

Monday-Tuesday is almost always a relatively low ratings period when compared to later in the week so that the ratings for I’LL FIND YOU ON A BEAUTIFUL DAY are in fact OK- But it is still a mystery to me why more people are not watching this show because it is simply wonderful.

I understand why A COUPLE'S WORLD is doing so well. It is certainly dramatic.

Mon-Tues ratings has recently been higher than Wed-Thurs. Romantic Teacher Kim got very high viewership on Mon-Tues. I think it’s more the quality of the dramas rather than the day of the week. Healing dramas are so slow-paced, most people will drop it including even my mom. I don’t like PMY who always trying to look pretty and her acting is the same. I am watching for SKJ and LJW only, they both act well. Agree that the story is wonderful but just very very slow.

I agree with You. soooooo tired of watching Park min young "look i am so perfect and pretty acting". thats why the rating for her drama is bombing.
PMY should stop wearing High school uniform. it looks Ughhhhhhhhh. shes trying hard to be young.

If we look at most talked about drama online I`ll find you on a beautiful day is among the 10 most talked about drama. So it do looks like people are watching this drama though. Sometime I think ratings do not represent dramas popularity since the rating represent few of the whole country. Beside people can watch it online too that do not count in the ratings.

Here is the list for March 23 to 29:
10. Once again (KBS2)
9. Welcome (KBS2)
8. I`ll find you on a beautiful day (JTBC)
7. Find me in your memory (MBC)
6. 365: Repeat the year (MBC)
5. A piece of your mind (tvN)
4. Hyena (SBS)
3. Hospital playlist (tvN)
2. Hi, bye, mama! (tvN)
1. The world of the married (JTBC)

In some ways this rating system makes more objective sense than a system which simply measures "watchers", a number which is of interest only to the advertisers and has no relationship to the quality of the show. This list measures the impact of the show as measured in people's responses to it. It would not be a bad idea to post this information regularly.

I can well believe that COUPLE'S WORLD is number one given the emotional punch. That HYENA rates high is no surprise either- most people would not have my visceral dislike of the FL's character (almost a phobia) and I did see enough to understand that dramatically it is well done.

"...most people would not have my visceral dislike of the FL's character.."

THIS!! I've loved the actress since Signal, she's wonderful. I just cannot bring myself to like her character and get over what she did to the ML in first 2 episodes. And I've tried bc I can appreciate how the actors are great, the story is great, it's well written, and I love watching the push-and-pull btw couples. I want to love this show. It's just not fun bc I can't get past her character :(

Yes, my comment was not a reflection on the actors (both leads are very good) or even on the over all quality of the show. It was simply a very bad initial mistake by the writers which has spoiled this show for me. I can well understand how others could enjoy this show.

The buzzworthy list that you posted isn't about watchers directly. Its a combi of how many articles were written + search terms. Almost all primetime ongoing dramas will be on the list by article volume alone. The top 3 are the only true representative of actually being buzzed and talked about everything after that isn't actually buzzworthy because aren't talking about it too much. Its because of the sponsored articles.

Agree with the poster above. Also there's a list of 10 most talked about actors (from airing dramas) every week, which doesn't really reflect the popularity of actors or how well their performances are received either. You could still rank pretty high on the list if your acting is being bashed everywhere. Nielsen ratings don't show everything but the dramas that get good ratings usually are among the most buzzed ones.

A Couple's World is so good! Pacing-wise, it's the opposite of things like A Piece of Your Mind. Full of twists and turns, rather than the slow, meditative nature of latter.

Wow, at this rate Welcome might beat Manhole as KBS's lowest rated drama. I admit it's rather cheesy but it's an easy watch out of the current crop that needs me to dig deep into the inner recesses of my brain. I have been watching Memorist with no idea what is going on at all because I just give up trying to make any sense of it. Piece of My Mind has beautiful music but is so depressing that after episode 2, I was too traumatised to watch further.

I just started A Couple's World and my goodness, I am hooked! I can't decide if I am more pissed at the betraying husband or the bunch of so called friends. I want to see revenge and I know the show will deliver it wickedly.

Not even on the list - rating in at just under .9%, but better than I expected is Chef Moon. Yeah, it's cheesy, fluffy, and crazy - but perhaps that is just what I need with all this real world crap going on.
Somehow Family: Also not on the list, coming in at around 1.8%. Only seen the first episode so reserving judgement.
Meow & A Piece of Your Mind - gave up on those. Pretty much watching everything else - some sporadically.

Dang, just read that A Piece Of Your Mind has been cut to 12 episodes because it's the lowest rated tvN Monday/Tuesday drama in 2 years. Guess the slow pace really turned people off.

Watching 365 Repeat the year. I'm super satisfied with this drama. No dull moments. Thrilling yet fun to watch. I love Nam ji hyuns acting performance. Hope that the domestic viewership rating for this series will increase.
