It’s now my turn to recommend it 😄 (I know I’m super late).
Back when it was airing, I was tempted by many Beanies to live-watch this drama. However, schedule wasn’t compatible with watching what seemed to be a very good drama from the posts (+ needed to think a bit with time travel involved / making theories which isn’t my cup of tea in drama watching 😅).
So with things going lately, working at home makes way for a few more drama time 😅.
I’ve watched this drama over the past 2 weeks and was blown away by it 🤩!
It handles time travel so well and tells not only a moving romantic story but life stories (self-acceptance, friendship).
Also slow binge-watching it was so nice, I followed the story, then saw things explained little by little, some ideas confirmed without having to wait a whole week in between 😬.
Loved this drama! And AvenueX’s revue is amazing, it added insight to all my post-watch feels…
Every time a Beanie talks about this drama, I feel happy that more people are enjoying it too
Same Fly Colours! I get extremely happy that what I went through with this drama was pretty much the same as beanies who have seen it! Stressed, confused, heartbroken, ecstatic for another twist as another episode rolled out and how it was so satisfying till the end. I still have not stopped thinking about this drama. 😔 Everytime a beanie talks about it, I am back to its dramaverse missing all the five characters who gave me so much feels for months.
most time travel dramas start well but end with some ” loose ends” like you said, I was so happy seeing how well they wrap it up <3 and how everything was connected and interdependent 🙂
It will never be the same for me for sure if I see yet another time travelling drama. I’ll keep thinking about Someday or One Day and can’t help but have a biased mind and compare and contrast that drama to this. 😣
I’m still on ep 5, but yes the time travel is done so well. I am amazed how they are pulling thing off. So good. I’m also amazed with how the actors pulled off different personalities when they travel. I can tell who is who each time.
Currently, I’m in love with Wang Quan Zhang. He was just too good. Earlier I keep telling the female lead to let go, but later on I understood why she couldn’t. He was just too good.

And yes great casting! I couldn’t have asked for better actors. Can you believe Greg Hsu was almost not cast in this drama because he was pretty much a nobody before this drama? He didn’t have a good resume on him (no lead drama whatsoever). He was the writers’ and director’s first choice, but they were worried he wouldn’t bring in the ratings they wanted. It took them afterall 3 years to craft the plotline, so they would of course expect a great result. When Alice Ke agreed to do this drama, that’s when they became more confident to offer Greg his first ever lead role! Alice Ke is a bigger actress in Taiwan; she’s won best actress for her performance in Marry Me or Not. I am so so grateful that they stood by their choice to keep Greg which opened a whole lot of opportunities for him as an actor! 🤧🤧🤧

Kuuuuuudo!!! 😭😭😭😭 You have finally seen it! I’m glad you enjoyed as much as we did. My interest in the drama dipped around Episode 5-7 because I did not understand where the drama was leading and I did not know what it wanted make me feel. By Episode 8, that’s when it answered the biggest question in the story and I was back to enjoying and loving the drama, perhaps more. I had to go back and rewatch what I thought were not so interesting in Episode 5-7, and I had appreciated it better. I finally understood what the drama wanted to tell me. Someday or One Day indeed! 😭😭😭
The ending was, as beanies who had seen it before I watched the English subbed, reasonable, the logic made sense, the best possible outcome. 😭 I couldn’t have asked for a better ending. It was so so satisfying. As you have mentioned, more than the epic love story of the time travelling lovers, the friendship, self-acceptance, self-love and finding your self-worth were the centre of it all.
Hope you did not miss the extra scene! Which I thought was such a great closure for our time travelling lovers who had selflessly sacrificed their chance to be physically together for all the people they loved and cared about 🤧 Again, someday or one day indeed!
About the opening song, yes I did not skip the opening and ending song at all. I took my time and watched this drama slowly. Once I got to Episode 8, the clips shown on both opening and ending song suddenly all made sense! I love love love the execution of this drama from the plotline, OST credits, the choice of the songs (the lyrics hit you to the core). Everything about it was thoroughly well thought and executed! You’ll be back to me someday, one day!
Also if you haven’t seen this yet – the OST singers, Shi Shi and 831, collaborated and performed a medley of Someday or One Day and Miss You 3000. It was so so so good. I still get goosebumps to this day listening to their medley.
I had the advantage that I started that drama knowing it was a good one. I had trust at its max at ep1 and loved it right away. I understood the story, its consequences on the characters as I watched, my watching pace was almost perfect for my brain to figure out/accept things as they showed.
When all the things happened at the end, I was like “now give me the connection, give me the little girl scene” 😀 !!! Then I screamed at the end , when we saw them on the scooter but he was still in his school uniform, knowing they’ll meet again one day for sure <3.
The drama broke my heart many times, I swooned many times and laughed too but I cried only once : Mo Jun Jie 's death : like this was too much T_T . I was even more happy when past got changed and that he was the one at the hospital after the car accident (and not the assault anymore).
I never skipped the opening song (I do have one complaint , it's too high, I struggle to sing along x) , my neighbours might know that song now x) ) but I did skip the ending song from time to time ^^'. Both gave clues and became clear as ep went by <3

Skate into Love is my new crack!!! I love that it is fluffy rom com. We need it in times like this when the real world is stressful and a scary place to live in right now.

thanks for the link 😀 , I’ve bookmarked it. I’ve just watched the opening, seems like a simple/stupid/funny youth drama, like you said this is needed in current times 🙂 .
I’m fine, I have the chance to work from home during that crisis (so brain is kept busy in a good way ^^) then I can buy food easily if needed ^^ and my usual hobbies are mostly indoors so I’m balancing between reading/puzzle/drama very nice so far 🙂 . I’m missing my long walks though 🙁 and won’t be able to contemplate cherry blossom this year but I’ll do that properly next year ^^’.
Mo Jun Jie’s death broke me. I’m glad that the past is changed. Huang Yu Xuan not only saved Li Zi Wei, Mo Jun Jie and Chen Yun Ru’s lives, she saved Mo Jun Jie’s grandma too! So glad to know in the extra scene that she is still alive and kicking!!!
And I was emotionally drained when I met Wang Quan Sheng at the beginning of Episode 8. 😭😭😭

Yes I loved it. They might not have an epic love story in the new timeline but they’ll create new memories, a new love story to tell and this time around no one’s body is being sacrificed for their love 😭😭😭 It’s win win situation.
“no one’s body is being sacrificed for their love” exactly that was the bitter taste of their love if things didn’t change, now the current time line allows them to be together as who they are <3

The time travel in this was done brilliantly. It was probably the first time travel show for me which didn’t leave any loose ends.
