Beanie level: Eunuch in drag

I’ve been valiantly resisting the urge to start The Untamed as I’m already watching too many shows. So I go on YouTube today and guess what’s at the top of my recommendations? *sigh* This really seems like a losing battle.

It seems I have recovered from being a Noble Idiot and am now a Eunuch in Drag. *prepares to make someone fall in love with me before a dramatic reveal of my true identity*

I finally got around to watching Buamdong Revenge Club. Why didn’t I watch this sooner?! What a great little show. I loved pretty much everything about it.

The opening episodes of Let Me Hear Your Song came together much better than I expected. On paper, it sounds bonkers, but mash it all together and somehow it works. It sort of puts me in the mind of I Can Hear Your Voice in terms of the genre mashing and its overall vibe. Now let\’s see if it manages to hold up…

Time to say goodbye to the beautiful gem of a show that is Nokdu Flower. It was pretty damn near perfect. From beginning to end, it was poignant and hopeful, reminding us how powerful the people can be when they unite and fight. I won\’t be forgetting this one anytime soon.

I am only at episode 26 and I can easily say it is one of the best shows ever. I’m glad to read it keeps its quality to the end.

It’s definitely going down as one of my all-time favorites. I was honestly surprised that it didn’t lose steam like many shows do. But the writing (as well as the acting and production) stayed fantastic all the way through.

The writing, acting, directing and production is topnotch, and this all in such an understated unassuming way that makes it so much better.
And is it only me or does the sound really have a fantastic movie-like feel and quality?

Exactly. And no, it’s not just you. I thought there was a cinematic feel to it from the beginning as well.

Feeling super annoyed after the nonsensical ending of ALML. The deus ex machina was strong with this one. Seeing it coming didn\’t make it any less frustrating. *sigh*

Season 3 of Stranger Things is out! At least I won\’t have to feel bad about binging the day away, since I\’m sick. Oh, and I\’ve got episodes of ALML and One Spring Night tonight. So little time, so many dramas 😩

I know!! I am so excited!! Sorry that you’re sick, but at least you won’t be bored!! I will have to wait to watch since we are having a BBQ at our house for the 4th. Is it impolite if I push our guests out early??? Hahahahaha

I’m sure there could be a perfectly legitimate excuse for getting people out early 😉

So I\’m finally creating a list on https://mydramalist.com/. Thankfully, from the beginning of my drama-watching days I\’ve kept a list of what I\’ve watched so I wouldn\’t lose track. But holy crap it\’s taking forever to transfer over. I’m not sure how I feel about how many dramas it appears I’ve watched over the years…

I usually keep track of my shows on many lists on my computer, but it’s been helpful for me to see all the shows in one place on MDL.

I did it old-school and actually have paper lists, which is why I thought maybe it was time to digitize like a good millennial 😉

Wow. Did it feel gratifying to cross off the series you watched? Strikethroughs on Word Doc don’t give the same feelings.

Working my way through the lists has felt pretty gratifying. I’ve always liked writing things out by hand, since it feels more memorable to me. But of course it’s so much easier to keep track of things digitally.

Just got back from the 2019 World Pride Opening Ceremony 🏳️‍🌈 Danced myself out during Chaka Khan and Ciara, and now I\’m exhausted. Guess I\’ll catch up on dramas tomorrow…

Ever have that moment after you get a hair cut where you run your fingers through your hair and panic for a second, wondering where half of your hair went before you remember it was intentional?

YES! The feeling is insanely similar to the feeling of missing a step you thought was there but isn’t.

I have officially reached Noble Idiot status. Per usual, I’ll attempt to get through this phase as quickly and painlessly as possible to reach the other side.

I\’m finally caught up on One Spring Night, which has been beautiful so far. But it looks like we\’re heading into parental angst, and I can only hope it\’s handled in a way that won\’t make me rage-y this time. 🤞

I am already upset, people have been telling Jung-in’s father to calm the hell down and he JUST WILL NOT LISTEN.

    UGH!!!!!

On a different side, I like a lot of parents in this show, Ji-ho’s dad, the sisiters mom and even Ki-Seok’s dad. Obsiously Ji-ho’s mom is nice and I think she will be easy to approve of their relationship, and I think Ki-Seok’s dad knows what’s wrong with his son and knows that his son can never work out with Jung-in.
Just the only absurd person is Jung-in’s dad, he is so insensitive.

You’re right, the rest of the parents seem okay so far. I’m hoping that’ll keep things from getting too crazy. I just don’t want a repeat of that mom in Pretty Noona.

Remember in the 1st few eps he was in his office reading a get rich quick after retirement book. That ain’t good. That ain’t good at all.

Who is he doing this for? There is no one in his family that is pressuring him or unhappy with the life that they have. The sisters are adults and two of them are gainfully employed and living on their own. His wife is able to do the activities and social events that she wants without it being a financial issue or putting the family into debt and they have a lovely home that it more than likely paid off.

He is at the point of his life where he should be enjoying it and is not. That is kind of sad and he is hella selfish and he is going to do something stupid as a result.

If the position that Ki seok’s father offered him was not enough of a clue for him, I guess nothing else will change.

I can’t stand him. He’s so disrespectful and selfish! It seems like the women in the family are all rational, caring people, so hopefully they’ll stick together and won’t let him walk all over them.

At this point, I\’m not sure why I\’m still watching Abyss. Every Monday, I\’m surprised when a new episode pops up on my Netflix. Then I’m surprised again on Tuesday. If I can’t even remember a show exists the day after I watch an episode, it’s probably not for me.

Courtesy of this week’s episode of Arthdal (AKA THahCB), I now have the soundtrack of Jesus Christ Superstar stuck in my head.

    Save Me

    1. Not my redemption
    2. Possibly this could be ‘Save Me 3’
    3. Deliver us from stylist hell.

I wonder what went on in the PD’s head as he was filming this?

    3
    1

Ha, I wonder that too. It certainly wasn’t subtlety.
