@22 CPW
ACK, sorry, for the super-late reply, but I forgot to check back this thread. Oh how I wish there was a notification system here. Ah well.

Me? I'm glad I've watched What's up, Fox? before Still, marry me. What's up, Fox is good too so I suggest you watch that one, too. As for suggesting which one to watch first, gah, I'm sooooooooo torn. This is just my personal opinion, but maybe WUF follows more closely the rules of k-drama-land, SMM is slightly more atypical, but...both are good and both have solid acting. I loved them both for different reasons. I'm still high and giddy for SMM so I don't think I'd be fair in saying anything else or making more comparisons between the two. Ask me again in a few days when I've come down from my high ^^

But if you really want to watch a love story between a young man/older woman and you don't know which one to choose, look at the cast and see if one picks your interest more than the other. As I said, the stories are both good and there's eyecandy in both sooo

Sorry, I know that doens't help much.

Oh man, unwinding with Vanness' mockumentary was fabulous. Love how his accent comes and goes, and half the times it Cockney, the other half more Australian. "I miss Jerry.....I miss Vic....I miss Ken, too....*sob* I didn't know it would be so hard." Hahahaha! VWu, you're so on a roll these days!

@ hpn88

The only Vanness drama really worth watching is Autumn's Concerto, which was a mega-hit in TW, and Vanness's post-finding-God resurrection in the entertainment world.

@ langdon-unni

The whole Mark/Vic thing smells like a fiasco in the brewing. See, Vic has always been the melancholy one, prone to fall into moody broodiness, and he's been MIA since the awards. Plus, Mark and Vic never seemed like buddies outside of B&W, they just don't seem like homies who roll together, so the rift may simply be that neither hang out during this downtime bf the movie starts shooting in June. Plus Mark as been busy filming and promoting Monga for the last few months. If they aren't talking, I don't believe it's bc Vic's is pissed at Mark, more likely Vic is just feeling down and not really eager to jump into Mark's limelight.

However......the director has thus far not given any interviews where he's discussed Vic and B&W. Everything he discusses is concerning Mark's Yin-xiong character, ergo fueling the flames of discussion. Anyhoo, if this turns out to be a giant stunt, I'll be so elated like you. B&W the movie will not work without Vic and Mark, you can switch out all the women, I can care less. :-P

Oh, English sub trailer for Monga it had a nice reception at the Berlin Film Festival), not my thing, but Ethan and Mark both look good in it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztSLNCNCmM0

Funny how in the interviews, both leads went at length to say this is NOT the TW version of The Young and the Dangerous. Hee, so my earlier supposition was not too far off base.

@ supah, eiko, carrinne, pongs and other OBGYN watchers

Finally watched the last precious moment of Ep 14 this morning from tudou when they posted new 14B there. Nothing worked yesterday and thanks, Supah, for the various links!

It is so sweet to say the very least. Absence makes the heart feel fonder. I wonder what Dr Seo would say after the kiss but mindyou, it is our very snobbish Dr Seo who closed her eyes first. The actor playing Dr Lee is not a top notch actor but his skills just suit this gentle and sweet role perfectly well. But I will sob for Dr Wang because he will be such an equal and great match to Dr Seo seeing how comfortable they are with each other and I also do believe he won't be a player again once he gets her heart. This is not gonna be now. Two more episodes and I'm curious how they will close the baby arc. Kudo to whoever came up the idea of having ObGyn as the theme of a medical drama because it just sucks in all female audience - engaging and all-absobing at the same time.

@ DWL Lovers

Me neither a fan of Jerry or Ella but DWL changes my view totally. I've also seen the whole drama, naughty me but the best episodes are now coming up - can't wait to see the best and most heartbreaking Pingguo moments, again! And Jerry's tears......

@ ockoala

Agree with you that the opening scene of PS Man is great but the episode, as you said, is meh. Blue can do nothing on me, not much inkling to see him since his turn in MG 1. There is something about his look or acting that is offputting to me.

It is so sad to see the ongoing perceived saga between Mark and Vic. I'm also in the camp that Vic should win the Gold Bell without contest, though not having any objection to Mark winning a new actor award. Vic is the one (both as an actor and his character) to give B&W the dramatic soul supported by a solid performance by Mark.

Now, Monga, I've been excited by this movie but don't know when I'll be able to watch it. The trailer looks superb and its box office power should prove its credential. Apart from the young actors, I'm interested to see Ma Ju-Long from Cape No. 7, which was like my number one top favorite movie in 2008. I chanced upon that movie when typhoon-stuck in Taipei during a business trip, fell in love with it, now own two versions of the DVD, and recommend it all my friends and relatives who love ensemble movie.

Wasn't episode 14 something? As soon as I saw the sneakers on the escalator I knew it would be her.....and then when Dr. Lee walked in....talk about grinning from ear to ear! I loved that elevator scene. It showed his gentleness and protectiveness towards her when he shielded her and then turned to face her. Does that happen in real life? :-)

I knew something was gonna happen somewhere along the way because of how he was looking at her and moving his face when she moved hers. I think the closeness made him take the chance and I thought it was absolutely neat how he slowly put his hands to her face....she knew it was coming and when she closed her eyes....well....that was it! I've got the same feeling about wondering what she is going to do when she realizes what happened and Dr. Wang is standing there. Only in a kdrama would the writers be cruel enough to do that!

In making a choice....her relationship with Wang is platonic and they have been friends for a very long time. With Lee....remember somewhere in the beginning she cried to him after the ultrasound when he took her somewhere to have a drink? Its been a slow build up and she has been looking at him and then I believe one of the telling signs was when she walked over to his brothers house when Lee was gone. She kept looking at her cell phone throughout the day.....which, I felt, was a sign that she missed him. Then when she saw him in the lobby....she put on that face and cold front. I think she has a problem dealing with her feelings after being treated like a cast off by the other married guy. I'm under the impression she's never had any other relationship except that affair.

Besides....she's pregnant and Dr. Lee would be the one to stand by her and give her the support she needs emotionally and psychologically. From the beginning he has always been nearby and took the opportunities when he saw it.

Walking by his brothers house was deliberate.....only thing I want to know now is watch episode 14 with english subs so I can understand what the conversation was at the basketball practice.

Sorry I'm so long winded.....I really love this drama...same good feeling like with Wish Upon A Star.

I'm enjoying Down With Love also....story is getting funnier and funnier.

By the way....her wanting to have that fish soup was another telling sign that she missed him. I wonder why he never told her he was leaving?

Aaahhh....now to wait for 15 and 16!!!!!

Wow, I didn't know you can watch the Down With Love raw! Now I am torn. It is very very tempting to watch the whole thing, but it is kinda fun to have something to look forward to every week. I guess it makes sense now what the cast were talking about in the NG section of the show. I was a bit puzzled that they were saying they hope people would still watch the show on TV b/c what's on TV is a bit different from the internet version. It also makes a lot of sense now why they were putting all the extra behind the show and NG stuff through out different parts of the episodes. Does anyone know what happened? Did the finished ep. just got leaked out or was the show shown in China first?

All these discussion on OBGYN has got me interested, so I am currently on episod 2. So far, it looks very interesting.

Just finished the Japanese drama Perfect Girl. I thought the ending was great. All the cute boys really didn't hurt either.

Yes, yes, there are just so many signs that Dr Lee is the one. By the time Dr Seo walked (consciously or) subconsciously to his brother's house, we know Dr Wang did not stand a chance even though she did ask him to join her walk after his infamous fish soup attempt :) What can be guaranteed is that Dr Lee will be the most loving and caring father to her child. If it is a normal kdrama, I bet we will see the GJP-butler-now-Dr Yoon will wrangle out some evil deeds! But this is a surprisingly refreshing drama with a mostly normal bunch of docs with great camaraderie.

The kiss scene is nicely done. I like its natural build up that they just can't help themselves in the circumstances, hehe.

@ 62 jtinma

The DWL leak is most unfortunate and I felt so sorry for the producers. Apparently, on the way for censor examination in China, the whole drama got leaked and placed on web when only two episodes had been shown in Taiwan. This happened around the Chinese New Year holiday. So, even before Ep 3 was aired in TW, tens of thousands online viewers had already seen the whole drama either on Chinese's websites or YT. Apparently, the pirated DVDs are now on sale not only in China, but also in Malaysia and Singapore. You could understand the devastating effects it has on all those concerned. No wonder the TW TV stations are now playing all the NGs and BTs clips they could to attract viewers to watch the drama in 'real time'. There were at one stage talks of re-shooting the ending but nothing further had happened. (I am one of the naughties to have watched the whole thing online - just couldn't stop it and pulled a one-nighter to finish it.)

You know, I'm wondering what Dr. Wang is going to say or do...he's standing there at the elevator door looking at them! AND....what about Seo? How will she react when she realizes Wang has been standing there! I've been going over episode 14 the last scene....sneakers....I love the way the theme song comes on during the kiss! And yes, that was done so nicely.....the gentleman that he is and she didn't resist either! I have to chuckle at how he looked at her the whole time while facing her...that is really good acting on his part.

Gosh....I didn't know about the leak on DWL! That's terrible! No wonder something didn't seem to feel right about the episodes. Is that wedding scene still there? It looks like the drama got cut to 14 instead of ending at 20. I finally got to see the part where Jerry finds out Ella is not a lesbian in episode 6? Did Lawrence declare his love for Ella to his mom because he didn't want to marry the other girl? I think I missed something there. :-)

I watched the first episode of Life is Beautiful... not out of curiousity for the gay couple, but because I like the island setting. (I have weird priorities. Also Ruri no Shima is a great drama) Hopefully tomorrow should have more Nam Sang Mi in it.

But whatever here's my thoughts on the 'situation': There was a scene with Song Chang Ui / Lee Sang Woo near the end of the episode. Song Chang Ui / Tae Sub is more of a reserved character while Lee Sang Woo / Kyung Soo is more of an outspoken sort of person and well, that makes sense considering their family situations. I'm glad Kyung Soo isn't outlandishly flamboyant, but we've only seen one episode so far. (Oh and those boots he wore were weird, but I can't judge that because kdrama fashion is an alternate reality of fashion or something.)

I don't know why people would be so outspoken against their storyline (or maybe I do) but to each their own. Like I said in another thread it's a family drama so there's something for everyone. No one ever said I wanted to see old people in love or obnoxious teenagers (Cho Rong, I'm looking at you) achieving their dreams, but the fact is that stuff happens in families. I welcome all storylines until they become obnoxiously makjang. (Three brothers rage here)

I loved B&W and was so disapointed when I heard that Vic wasn't going to do the movie. :( Ever since the drama ended I had been looking forward to the movie. Now I don't have a lot of enthusiasm for it.

The best part of the whole story was the bromance and without Pi Zi there is no bro for the mance.

@ trixicopper

Ur post made me go re-read the news from the last few weeks (I've been neglecting the TW entertainment scene), and you are right. :-( Its not a rumor anymore, Vic is not going to be in B&W the movie.

I. Am. So. Pissed. At whatever caused this. Vic says his "schedule" doesn't accommdate shooting the movie. Really, Vic? Director - your lead actor can't make the movie and you are not doing everything under the sun to make it happen?

Anyways, the director says that B&W the movie will NOT have Pi-zi the character, Chen Zai-tian will not be recast and played by, for example, Ethan, suddenly. Nope, it's just the story of Yin-xiong, and perhaps a new partner. Like, what the what?

@ trixicopper, it's not even the bro-mance that will be missing if Vic is gone, it's that the heart of B&W will be gone. I'm sorry, aside from Mark's performance being outstanding for a newbie, Vic's performance was really the best thing he's done in his career. And I was wholly invested in Pi-zi, from the first scene when he's in bed with Cola and then gets shotgunned blasted out of the North Precinct Office by his boss, I was like "This is Zai Zai, no way!!! Hua Ze Lei is finally a thing of the past."

@ langdon-unni - I am truly disappointed it's come to this. Whatever the myriad of reasons, the only ones who will be hurt are the fans. I don't know if I'll want to watch B&W the movie anyone, honestly. To me, its just another action movie.

I had read several months ago that Vic would not be in the movie. Without his character I don't really have that much interest in the movie. Besides the fact that where do you go with a buddy picture when there are no buddies?

I adored the character Chen Zai Tian. He was the heart of the whole drama. I agree that it was the best work that Vic has done. Without Pi Zi, Marks character is just a rigid, judgemental yutz. This is in no way a slam at the actor. I thought that he turned in a very solid performance. But character wise ,CZT had me from start to finish.

About the B& W movie is it actually true Vic is not going to film it? Because looking around I only read that their schedules weren't working out, but there didn't seem to be the feeling of "forget you, we are going to do it anyway" sort of vibe. On a report on March7th, it also make it sound like Vic and the director both showed up at Vic friend's birthday party and Vic embraced the director thus hinting even if there were hard feelings at one point things might work out.
Whatever the reason, I hope Vic do the movie. It would be silly to have a Black and White movie without Vic. Especially since in Chinese the show is named after both male characters.

A few months ago, rumors started swirling that Vic couldn't/wouldn't do the movie, but I have never heard the definitive report that he was for sure out. It was like, he was mostly likely not going to do it, but I still had hope.

Then, I read the news from Jan/Feb, and yeah, it looks like he's out barring a miracle. What the article about him and the director showing up at a friend's event and embracing was meant to show there was no hard feelings, and perhaps Vic will do another B&W movie if a sequel is warranted.

You know, so many articles, so many conjectures, but at this point, I think the director is moving forward with the movie as if Vic is not going to be in it, ergo him talking about Mark's character in the movie all the time.

@ trixicopper - I concur, Mark's Yin-xiong was a holier-than-thou doofus at times, but I like how even he could be black at times and he created the perfect foil for Pi-zi, whom I loved, loved, loved. There are scenes with Vic brooding on his terrace that made my heart hurt. I Just Sad Now.

@ockoala, @ eiko, @trixicopper, I totally I agree with you Mark's character is a one sided role, as for Chen Zai Tian I agree he is the " Heart of the Drama", it will be like Making a movie about the 'Dynamic Duo" and have the Flash play the partner of Batman, it just wont work, so I hope for the sake of the original story the director will hold on making the movie, other wise I do not think it will work out in the end, I also started watching "Started With a Kiss" and it looks like it has a lot of potential, this one has a J-Drama feel to it so i think I am going to like it!!!!

@74 AMG

I'm not sure what kind of drama you like...I like anything that has great acting and good story line. I enjoyed Started With A Kiss....in between I got kinda tired of the same re-run on lessons for the female...she's pretty dense. But the acting is good and both male and female have flaws in their characters....he's a genius and she's on the opposite end of the spectrum but they match up because they both love each other and that's what makes the whole relationship work. If we could all learn by their mistakes....???? They did make #2 and it's even better because they mature. It is a tear jerker in many places....but all of it fits into the story.

one thing I've learned is not to analyze a drama. people liked Will It Snow For Christmas and I ended up not watching it half way because I felt the whole story line was about dysfunctional people and they all had major problems. Then I liked Bad Love which many people hated....so....all a matter of preference.

It's fun to check out all the different dramas....I cheat....I go into the first part and then check the middle and check the ending....almost the same way as reading a book. But with dramas it's so much nicer to see faces and listen to dialogue.

:-)

@eiko, I prefer Rom/Com e.g. Coffee Prince, Wish Upon a Star,etc.
But I like Melodramas also like Summer Scent, Phoenix, A love to Kill etc. I also like Action/Police dramas like Boss, Galileo, Iris, Black and White,
Melodramas where my favorites at one point but it takes a lot of stamina to deal with pain all the time, so I made a serious effort to pace myself with tragic Dramas, I am currently watching CHUNO and man what a trip has been!, Will Snow For Christmas, really upset me so I stop after episode ten when I realized that Kang-jin was not going to find the kind of redemption that I was hoping for, but romantic/ comedies provide enough pain and comedy to balance each other as in Wish Upon A Star, I saw Smile,You from beginning to end and i must say I consider Jung-In and Hyun-soo my favorite romantic couple by far.
@CPW, I agree Mr,Goodbye ending took me by surprise I was not expecting that, but the over all story was good I like it more then Hotelier, I only saw half way the Korean and Japanese version but lost the interest maybe one day I will finish it!

Thank you for answering my question about DWL. That does make me feel really sad for everyone involved in DWL. I am sure it will and probably already had a huge affect on how much money this show will make. I can't even imagine what I would feel like if I was one of the person who worked so hard to make the show happen. If I was the producers, it would be tempting to add additional footage or even change a bit of the story.

Ep 14's kiss was yummy! 'Nuff said.
I never knew Lee was the smooth-moves type, his careful planning (including the sneakers; linking to how she runs around in dangerously high heels all the time! Stupid pregnant lady doctor!).

I had a terrible feeling Wang would be stood watching, and there he was! Stood outside the lift! As will ALL love triangles, one of them is always the observer and seems Lee and Wang have been taking turns here. *Aiyooo*
And I'm STILL undecided about Seo, I don't even like the woman!

It's ok Wang, you have meee....!! *makes kissy faces*

Okay....I enjoy Rom/com also and LOVED Coffee Prince!!!! I really like that actress and watched Take Care of My Lady? That was good....she's really versatile. I'm checking out one right now The Vineyard Man and I'm kinda "iffy" about it but it's only the beginning.

I've been watching CHUNO also....this last one on episode 13 and 14 was interesting and there was a discussion on whether they actually saw each other and i felt they did....well, episode 14 posted today and they sure did see each other! It's going to get interesting. I have to go and finish off the episode. Jang Hyuk is something else! :-)

Oh you are a RIOT!!!!! I think we're all in agreement about Seo cause she sure hasn't shown one bit of breaking down yet.....although she has shown emotion to Lee....remember that time at the restaurant where they were drinking and she cried?

I was kinda making faces at Seo wearing heels....I don't see any female doctors or nurses wearing heels in the clinics or hospitals while on duty! Thats something that was over looked by whoever does the props, etc. or even the director. Very dangerous over sight on that one. But then....the sneakers played a major role and Lee was pretty sharp in doing the couples sneakers! :-) She DID have a disgusted response when the people next to her noticed the sneakers. I only saw the RAW version so I have no clue as to what they said or she said or what Lee said in the elevator. In other words I'm plain clueless as to the dialogue for that whole scene and I'm anxious to know what went on.

Poor Wang....you can have him with my blessings Supah! I hand him over to you....he had umpteen years and then he tries to make a grab when someone else makes a move for her! Lee sure took advantage of the opportunity....what's that old saying SNOOZE YOU LOSE! hehehehehe....

I love the whole drama....what fun!!!

@ supah!

I told myself I wasn't going to think about that elevator scene anymore and not analyze it.....but you know....it dawned on me why he turned around to shield her....because she's pregnant and his concern has always been to protect her! Remember at the brother's house and he told them she doesn't drink wine? Facing her with his hand on the wall and the right side of his body against the wall was like him being a shield.....except I don't think he started out with intention of kissing her....but that's how it happened with being so close to her.

I tell you....if that's all part of the story....it's good! Cause he's been that way towards her from the beginning. :-)

Happy Monday!

@Sere

Girl, you got me hooked on Still, Marry Me. I just finished watching it, and I love it. I only attended a funeral this weekend, for the rest of the time, I was totally glued to the computer. That's very, very bad since I have tons of errands to run. Hehe, but it's so worth it . It's almost 1:00 A.M. I better catch up with my sleep. 99

@ 89 mead33 and other DWL watchers

It's great to see you here! From what I've seen so far, the leaked version of DWL is pretty much the same as the 'live' version of Taiwan, except they have the HF actress character's voice dubbed in the TW version whereas you hear her real voice in the leaked Chinese version. It is a very sad tale as DWL has all the potentials of becoming a super hit drama.

There are altogether 14 episodes of 1.5 hr each for the TW version whereas it's 28 episodes of about 40 minute each for the other. Ep 7 just aired in TW last night and I'm going to watch that after finishing my Dramabean'ng here.

All the Lawrence questions were answered in last night's Ep 7.... I actually loathe that part A LOT!

@ OBGYN watchers

We can all talk about ep 14 non-stop until Wednesday hits us again. I do think the elevator scene is superlatively done because what Dr Lee set out to do is to protect the woman and her baby - not taking the advantage of kissing her :)

@ B&W Movie

C'est fini for moi if Vic is not in. He is the dramatic soul of that drama, and a movie without him is then no different from any other cop movies on the street!

@92 epyc

LOL LOL....I sent same thought to supah about the elevator scene! That thought came to me as i watched it again and paid attention to body language. But you know....episode 13 has been posted and I watched it and caught more dialogue besides noticing her facial expressions when she found out Lee was gone. That's why she was cold to him in the lobby of the hospital....I didn't know what he said to her when I first watched it....but now I know. Also....remember the visit to Lee's brother's house? I didn't know what the conversation was because there were glitches on the site but now I know what the sister in law said to her....a clue going into the final is Seo's willing to study more or go to America! :-)

That kiss in the elevator....I agree with you on the intention in the beginning. He was shielding/protecting her....that's why he turned to face her. But, that closeness to her took it to the next level and that's how the kiss happened. The timing was perfect....even the timing of Wang waiting for an elevator!

Now for the meaty part on what Seo is going to do and how she will re-act when she sees Wang standing there!

I'm waiting for DWL to get posted.....I usually watch for postings at Mysoju because I know the episodes will be complete....watching in raw version can be mighty mis-leading since I don't understand korean! I was doing that with DWL and went to episode 14 and now following regular with subs and story following into place. Especially where Jerry finds out about Ella not being lesbian! :-)

Have a nice Monday!

I'm so happy you loved SMM. I was just spreading the love! :) I'm not so happy you lost so much sleep to marathon it, but hey, I totally get how obsessed one can be when one's watching an addicting kdrama. :)

re: B&W movie

how can they even call it the B&W movie if there is no Pizi??? i mean, who's black and who's white if there is only ONE person??? as much as i loved Mark in the drama.. he did not carry the drama by himself. Vic and the bromance was so much more than any of the men and the women together.. this is so disheatening. i'm really sad.

first, no HJW in IRIS 2
now no Vic in B&W movie.

wtf?

@ Sere and CPW

SMM is all sorts of awesome. i am up to ep 11 and can NOT wait to go home from work to dive into the rest of this drama. Bummie is totally a noona killer! i heart him so much lately.

@ twin

what?!?! no vic in b&w?!?! what is this MADNESS?!?! oh yes, also, remind me to tell you about this weekend HA. oh. the. madness.

obviously i have not kept up with OT this week(end) so far. but i do remember skimming through some posts and a couple of things caught my eye.

Who's watching Perfect Girl Evolution?? This was not on my radar at ALL until i saw a teaser fanvid on YT and the head-butting lured me in. I've downloaded it all and marathoned it this weekend through ep 6. Can't wait to finish it up tonight (hopefully!). I also remember someone mentioning that Kame slightly resembles a skinnier version of MY TOP... and STRANGELY so... he does. And I mean a LOT skinnier version with way more arched eyebrows ( I am totally jealous of Kame's eyesbrows, is that wrong?!?!). I never thought so before, but I recently watched the Gokusen movie and found Kame strangely appealing.... and couldn't pinpoint why. Now that someone mentioned the Tabi resemblance, it's all starting to make sense. Either way, I am really enjoying Kame and the lead girl in this drama. Totally cute and fun!

@epyc

It's great to see you here too! Thanks for the clarification! :) I just finished EP 1-6.... ha ha, i must say i am enjoying it quite a lot... i am undecided whether jerry's acting is good or bad... sometimes it seems bad (*yiaks*) but yet somehow it feels right... ah... but I like it when he is sentimental.... gosh

@ daisytwenties

I did watch the end of high kick through the roof and absolutely hated it. I don't understand why the writers ended a sitcom with a completely sad and dramatic ending. also, i didn't think there was any purpose to the cliffhanger ending other than to "shock" the viewers. completely disappointed.
