True. It's always a bit odd to me when they cast a beautiful actress as a supposedly less than pretty female role, and think they can give off the illusion that she's not pretty enough by having the other characters call her ugly. It makes me wonder if everyone in dramas needs to visit an optometrist.

I'm glad more people are now recognizing her because of her portrayal in Personal Taste. Most people first saw it for Lee Min Ho, and they had no idea who Son Ye Jin was. I mean, she's Son Ye Jin!

@7: Agree with you, they like to do that in drama, desperately make the actor look ugly by making the other actors say she is ugly. I mean..."This you say ugly?!" I think I want to look "ugly" too then...

SYJ she reminds of julia roberts. can play from cutesy to fierce and have a truly beautiful smile.

I would not have known that was Sohn Ye-jin if her name was not at the top. I thought she was pretty in PT, but she's really gorgeous. I need to see her in other dramas to get the Kae-in image out of my head.

I am sorry but SYJ is way ahead as an actor compared to Julia Roberts. I can't stand JR's acting. She is always the same in every movie. She has never touched me like SYJ did in The Classic. Pretty Woman is the only movie I liked of JR and it was downhill since then.
I prefer SYJ's look in PT than these pictures. Here she looks looks so generic. I don't see that inner radiance that shines from her face. It's all hidden with make up. She actually looks plastic in these pics.

I can totally see why so many actors/male singers pick her as their ideal girl...she's has this "pure" and innocent face...but she is also sexy and confident. (kinda like Shim Mina) If I were a guy I'd pick her as an ideal too...XD hehe

Only four times a week? -_- So jealous! I run for about 28 - 30 minutes for a 5K five or six times a week and then some weights when I'm with a gym membership again and not with her bod. I envy her genetics. Those must be extremely tough workouts! *this all under the assumption she doesn't do crazy dieting*

love sohn ye-jin! she looks fierce and i love the first pic. she also always looks really pretty when she's at awards ceremonies. and in PT she looked adorable and cute to me. she just has so much appeal and i love it because its DIFFERENT and she pulls it off. <3

Do you think that she is telling you the truth.

In order for her to pose for those pictures, she probably had to work out strenuously every day for at least a month. On top of that, she had to starve herself almost to death to have that small waist as in the picture.

She was a kind of choppy and ugly in Personal Taste.

After dropping out My Way, she needs to do some thing in order to get another job offer.

Exercise and eat less so we can drop the pounds. No secret about it.

SYJ is a beaut, no doubt about it. But these days they airbrush the hell out of everything, it's hard to know what anybody's true shape is anymore. Because of the high-definition image in White Night, a lot of people who adore her image from Classic and earlier days, were talking about how much she's "aged" (a silly complaint, but y'know the pressure actresses are under.)

The White Night teaser poster (with Go Soo standing behind her both staring straight ahead) also exaggerated her chest-waist-hips ratio - although this fits the "femme fatale" idea they were going for that character.

Anyway enjoy it all with a grain of salt but don't kill yourself emulating a figure that's the result of multi-stage production by team effort :)

Saw her first in Summer Scent, and after seeing her in Personal Taste, I do admit that she has aged a little. Which is understandable, really, as she's only human like the rest of us who ages. What makes her different from us is that she's an actress. But despite that, she's still one of the loveliest and most natural-looking actress in the industry.

Yeah, Son Ye Jin only had to exercise just for this photoshoot, because she was fat and ugly in her earlier works, and in desperate need of a new project.

At first I was thinking to myself that those who called SYJ ugly were crazy. But I understood what they were getting at. In many scenes, SYJ looked so old. She's never looked that way before, but her skin was getting a bit leathery, somehow. With makeup, she still looks gorgeous. I remember her in A Moment To Remember, and she just looked so young and vibrant. Unfortunately she's definitely lost that. She has a more mature look now, and with makeup, she can look stunning as she does in these shots. But her fresh face looks much older than her years. This is sad news. I am still a big fan of the woman.
