Park Bo-young settles contract dispute with management

Park Bo-young has finally settled the legal battle with her management company, Humane Entertainment, which hopefully means that we’ll be able to see her back onscreen soon. (Finally!)
Back in April, Park had filed a complaint against her management company alleging forgery of documents and requesting the termination of her contract. However, in June the company was acquitted and she faced the possibility of being countersued for defamation and libel. She faced an additional lawsuit, explained here, in which she and her company were accused by a film production company of reneging on a movie role. She was cleared of those allegations.
I love Park Bo-young, who has a wonderful presence and solid acting chops for one of her tender years. She has had a number of memorable roles in dramas and films (King and I, Our High School E.T., Secret Campus), but it was really the brisk comedy Speed Scandal, where she played a young unwed mother, that solidified her star status. It was a bummer that she would be kept from acting due to legal reasons, so I hope we see her back in action right away.

I think playfully kiss would do better with her in it. I really like Jung so min and she's doing really well, but I think a name like Park BoYoungs could boost ratings. There are no establishEd actors I'm this drama. They lack star power and Kim HyunJoong doesn't count because his acting hasn't been recognized and most of his pull I'm abroad
Glad Jung so min is getting to show herself, but I also think park boyoungs would be smashing.

Baker King is just too powerful. PBY may have brought the ratings up by a few more percents, but even then, the ratings would still be really low. I think PK, from a financial point of view, did right by choosing a lesser known actress. Her salary is probably cheaper. And it would have been sad for PBY, who has gained star status from her movie, to sort of take a step back with PK when JSM could use this drama to take her step forward.
Anyways, I'm glad she got all these legal issues settled. She's like only 20. I feel like that is too young to be facing lawsuits.

I agree with "asianromance." I'm sure PBY would have done a great job in PK (although I love what JSM is doing for the drama as well), but I doubt PBY alone would have changed the ratings much. Dramas with an even bigger star power (So Ji Sub and Kim Ha Neul in "Road Number 1"; Kim Nam Gil (mind you, right after his huge popularity in QSD when everyone was anticipating his next project) in "Bad Guy") brought in low ratings when competing against "Baker King." As BK was approaching its finale, its ratings were bound to go up, which meant that its later competitors (MGIG and PK) would naturally struggle even more.

I really loved her in Speed scandal, too bad she couldn't work for such a long time.
I think she would have been a great choice for Ha-ni, I do like So-min but Park Bo-young would have maybe brought more attention to the show not that obviously KHJ didn't help get the ratings up.

I agree. She, along with the rest of the principal cast of Speed Scandal, was sooo good that I bought the movie on dvd. It's such a shame that she has lost so much time from acting because of these lawsuits. She's easily one of the most talented actresses in her age group.

Yes! This definitely made my day! I love Park Bo Young and it was recently that I watched Speedy Scandal, and was wondering why she didn't have any projects afterwards only to find out about a lawsuit bummer, now that its cleared I hope she does a drama/movie soon, i prefer her as a Ha-ni still, but seeing the drama not doing so well I'm sure pby would've brought the ratings up!

my aunt writes dramas, and the one she just finished writing needs to be cast. when we we were talking about who she should cast as the girl main character, she told me she wanted to cast pby! hopefully that works out, because i love pby, and it would be awesome to watch her in my aunt's own drama! teehee :D

yeah it was a bummer that she wasn't able to act because i was hoping she'd take on the lead role in playful kiss but then it's all ok now because jung so min won me over.
