Giveaway hootenanny: CDs and OSTs!

It’s a giveaway! It’s a hootenanny! It’s a giveaway hootenanny!

Here’s the shortened version of how this giveaway came to be: gummimochi says, “Hey, I have this CD I want to give away to fans to celebrate my anniversary with Dramabeans,” and we says, “That’s a great idea, let’s steal it and give away LOTS of stuff, because as we know, more is always better!”

So we’re giving away OSTs, one from each of us, just to say thanks for being you, and for sharing our neverending love of all things kdrama.

Rules:

Leave a comment here (with your real email address!), explaining why you’d like to win the CD of your choice. Maybe this was your favorite drama EVAR, or maybe you really want that disc to use for dart practice. Whatever floats your boat. You may enter for any or all of the CDs (separate comment per entry, please), but be sure to specify which particular one you are addressing.

Note that winners will NOT be picked in a random selection; each of us will choose one winner, to be announced next week. Meet back here on Sunday, August 12, for results!

SHINee’s “Sherlock”

gummimochi:

This time one year ago, I could never have imagined that I would be able to share my everlasting love for variety, drama, and pop music to a beautiful you. Putting all those together, I’ve chosen SHINee’s new mini-album, “Sherlock.”

Min-ho will be headlining the upcoming drama, To the Beautiful You, where he needs to be clued in that a he might be a she. Not like it takes Sherlock Holmes-esque detective skills to figure that out though, but hey – this is kdrama-land.

You’ve Fallen For Me OST

kaedejun:

Time flies when you’re having fun! It feels like yesterday when I wrote my first recap, and I can still remember that experience. 12 recaps and 2 years later, I’m still living through that experience – which I’ll never forget – thanks to Dramabeans, where discussion, fan-girling (or fan-guying), and sharing flow through like streams of consciousness during the lazy days of summer. Speaking of summer – this is why I’ve chosen the You’ve Fallen For Me OST. Its OST makes me think of sunshine, happiness, sunflowers, and daisies. Really. And it features CN Blue’s Jung Yong-hwa and Kang Min-hyuk, which is one of my few favorite bands (second to the almighty Big Bang). So I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, and live this summer out as carefree and happily as the students of You’ve Fallen For Me. I’ll see you at the beach!

Chuno OST

HeadsNo2:

This is a soundtrack near and dear to my heart, not only because Chuno will always remain one of my all time favorite dramas, but because it also represents one of my favorite aspects of dramas and Dramabeans – the ability to bring people together. By melding history with modern sensibilities, it’s a drama that broke ground and appealed to a mass audience, whether they were seasoned sageuk lovers or complete newbies to the genre. No matter what our favorite genre is, we all look for stories with the ability to move us, to transport us to another world, to be thought-provoking, to give us a reason to want to gather and share our thoughts, our experiences, and our love of community. One hundred posts later, I’ve definitely come to treasure the discussion that happens here and all the wonderful insights I’ve learned from our time together, and hope you can enjoy a soundtrack that moved and inspired me as much as I did, if not more. Oh, and ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥.

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST

javabeans:

There are a lot of reasons for me to single out Shut Up: Flower Boy Band, like the fact that it remains, more than halfway through 2012, the drama that touched my heart the most this year. Other dramas had the big twists, the high drama, the epic conflicts, and the quirky high concepts—but Shut Up, despite its small world and small stories, had for me the sincerest connection with emotion and angst. The people felt real and the drama was fueled by that pounding, aching, fluttering and sometimes raging heart that drove its characters.

But you know what? All that aside, Shut Up: Flower Boy Band had awesome music. It had the deftest way of working its music into the plot, effectively making its soundtrack a running storyline like it was a character of its own. So there.

The King 2 Hearts OST

girlfriday:

An epic drama that managed to steal my heart in an epic way. The King 2 Hearts swept me up in its tense action, side-splitting comedy and sweet romance at every turn, and the score played a big part in keeping me enraptured in that world. It’s also a drama that reminded me of the fervor of fandom — you guys made the crazy train fun (also crazy), and I was happy to come along for the ride. This OST probably marks those few months in time — the OMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT crack addiction — as much as the drama itself. Here’s to love in the DMZ, and sharing good dramas with friends from around the globe. Cheers.

Shut Up Flower Boy Band!!! :D This drama was so stinkin' awesome! I loved it so much. And the music was great. I think it was the only OST I have ever listened to after the drama just because it gave me happy feelings and I loved the songs. The problem is that youtube doesn't always load. :P Thank you so much for this awesome site and the great giveaways you do every once in a while.

mmm.....OBVIOUSLY SHUT UP FLOWER BOY BAND!!!

How you can pick something else befuddles me. This drama was one of the more memorable ones this year. It was soooooo goodddd. My goodness. Sigh. I miss it so much. Maybe because I'm a teenager myself, but I connected with the characters like crazy.

I cried when Ji Hyuk cried, oh my goodness my heart ached for him so much. I hated when Byung hee died, but after I loved it in a sadistic way. Watching Ji Hyuk break and crack yet in the end stand strong was so heartbreaking yet so sweet.

I laughed when Kyung jong and Ha jin's bromance started; their bromance was more like an old marriage. They had each other's backs and doted on each other teasingly. So cute. SO CUTE. I was dying, in a good way, of the aegyo. And that made it ever the more heartbreaking when Kyung Jong had to leave and Ha jin was like, its okay man. I got u. AIJHASGBDIHASD

I smiled like crazy, the smile that makes your cheeks literally hurt baddd when of course they came out in the end. I loved the ending, how it did not end in the atypical way where the band becomes a huge
international success.

The story begins with a tale of friendship. And it ends with the tale of friendship. This drama, yeah obviously it was about music and the obstacles these group of friends run into when they get into the industry. But, that's almost a backdrop to what the story is really about. It's about friendship, how the loss of one friend shaped the whole group, about misunderstandings and maturation, about friends, who in the end, despite glory, fame and success, in the end, first and foremost, got each others backs.

And obviously, the cinematography was freaking amazing, along with the music. The music was so good. Like I would buy it good. And, best of all, the story, music and the cinematography all fit each other. Kind of like an indie feeling, raw, but artistically beautiful. Not really much about the outside looks, but the inside beauty and story.

Oh my goodness I went on a whole rant about this drama when I was planning to succinctly summarize my feelings. Wells, anyways ;)

Btw, if you haven't watched this drama, you need to watch it.
NOW.
I promise, you'll thank me later.

King 2 Hearts OST

--==~.~==--

For the Eun Shi Kyung sized hole in my heart.

girlfriday - I think very few people appreciated the truly nuanced and heartfelt character that is Eun Shi Kyung.

Thanks for all the recaps that delved just a little deeper and added another beautiful shade of depth to this special character.

Youve Fallen for Me OST

I absolutely heart each and every song on this soundtrack! It's great for the days that aren't so cheery, especially since the mood of these songs is uplifting and happy! I enjoyed the drama and the songs that accommodated it - the overall feeling of both provides a boost in happiness for me!

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!

The King 2 Hearts OST ^^

This drama together with its music has a way of pulling viewers deeper into their world unknowingly.

I cheered for them to pass the WOC training, I squee-ed at the romance + bromance, I cried when Jae Kang and his wife died, I puffed up with pride when Jae Ha gradually grows to become a better king/man, I felt giddy when Hang Ah kicked ass(es), I cried (again) when Shi Kyung died...

In short, King 2 Hearts has a lot of HEARTS. Having the OST would keep the awesome-tastic feelings going inside my own heart. ;)

Thanks for all the awesome drama recaps!

I would absolutely love to have The King 2 Hearts OST because its really one of the meaningful dramas I have seen so far (I entered dramaworld about less than a year ago but I have seen a lot of dramas).
This drama has given an inspiring message of there being able to be a unition of both Koreas without having to use drastic solutions like war.
As to the romance part I of course loved Jo Jung Suk and Lee Yoon Ji even though it didn´t end well...Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won are amazing actors, actually every one is!!
I am just very impressed by this drama which I loved so very much and would love to remember it by listening to the ost. The King 2 Hearts has a bit of everything you love!

I would love to have the King 2 Hearts OST! I went to Paris, France for a month to take my summer school credit course, and nearing the end, everyone was starting to feel sad because we would be leaving soon. Suddenly, "미치게 보고싶은" started playing from my laptop and my roommate just commenced bawling her eyes out because the song lyrics matched our situation so much.... So many memories are embedded into that song. I actually really love that it hehe... Aside from that, this has to be one of my all-time favourite dramas. I hated 존마이어 with a passion and I loved 이재하 with all my heart and soul. This drama kept me excited and happy throughout the school year and through exam period... I poured everything I had into that drama! Listening to the songs would make me feel happy and having the physical copy of the CD would be amazing.

Thank you! :)

P.S. 좋아하는 남자한태 'king 2 hearts' 보라고했더니만 ... 그걸 하루만에 다 끝내버렸어요 ...

The king 2 hearts ost

I want to win this because it bridges the relationship between the north and south. It showed how precious that relationship is and after 50 years of being discnnected, they found amway to reconnect although fictional. It's nice to think that their relationship is so precious and that anything can tip it off balance but as long as you're determined to be together nothing's onna break it apart. Me and my sister really love this drama and have been watching it again and again... It is a nice possibility if the two koreas were to reunite and live appily ever after again...

You've fallen for me OST

i loved this drama... this aired when i was about to transfer to another department... i'm a nurse btw.. from floor/ward nurse to OR/DR.... my last days on the floor was a bit hard... we had patients who were terminally ill and had only days to live... its a bit morbid to work and see faces u know will die in days of not hours... this drama aired and u know how cute the couple can get!... and the music they play is so good it gets stuck in my head, i liked how they combined traditional and modern music... the weird thing though is the memory of my previous nights late stream pops up when its the most awkward moment ever!.... a patient is about to die (labored breathing, gloomy atmosphere, everyone crying) i do my rounds and i look like some teenage girl who had her crush blow kisses to her! HAHA.. the drama gets me hyped and i can't control my smile/blushes... i'm sure u know how i felt... so i guess i have a chance to fight for the You've fallen for me ost given the fact that i looked like a fool because of the drama? a little consolation for the humiliation? haha... tnx a bunch for all your hard work guys.. big hug!

A little greedy i know. haha
see like i said in my previous post.. i transferred departments, i took a lot of time off from my kdramaland.. hiatus was a bit necessary though very heartbreaking to do... my new mates have been a little rough on me... hey tease me all the time about my korean addiction... i mean... so what if i like their dramas... at least i have k drama addiction not like others who use drugs, smoke, drink alcohol to the point of being sick.. but i'm happy to report that i have regained my confidence and started having my sickness spread to them. HAHA.. i'd like to post pics of my guy mates do cute korean poses but i still have to ask permission, i doubt they'd let me.. (https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/563276_2196298684256_1270681069_n.jpg) (https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/s720x720/548877_380897001966247_32746600_n.jpg) PLS IF U KNOW ANY OF THEM, DON'T SQUEAL ON ME. THANK YOU.. HAHA
this drama was my comeback drama. i like the romeo and Juliet scenario of this drama without the dying part... how love will conquer all.. how faith in love, in your self and in your people can bridge gaps that no one though possible, well maybe they though possible but lacked courage. hehe...
i liked eun shi kyung and jae shin's song... the thing that unlocked their feelings... this drama made me feel things a human should feel in his entire lifetime in just 20 episodes. =)
the possibilities of my entry. haha.. i'm just happy i get to share my friends faces! hahah (PLS I BEG OF YOU DONT LET THEM KNOW I POSTED THEIR PICS HERE) HAHA

The King 2 Hearts OST!!!
The song First Love by Lee Yoon Ji is really hooked me, making me replay the song for the whole day. And all the other songs just bringing back all the memories from the drama, bringing back all the drama scenes while the songs are playing. The OST is perfectly fit well with the emotion of the drama. I would love to win this OST to keep me longing for K2H in my memories forever. Thanks GF....

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band

Wow, this drama. I avoided it for about three months bc it was a busy semester and I was watching Dream High 2 (bad choice that I dropped by Ep 10) and wow, how I regretted that decision.

At least I was able to watch it one go. I literally watched all 16 episodes in less that two days and it was wonderful. The cast stole my heart and ripped it to shreds. Byung-hee, Ji-hyuk, Hyun-soo T__T And the soundtrack, oh the soundtrack. It was so fitting~ and Sung-joon's beautiful voice.

OSTs are so hard to find, I would love to own it~

Thank you for recapping this drama, if it wasn't for you all it probably would've flew below my radar.

I really want the CHUNO OST...

The best OST for all time and really compatible with the drama..every time i listen to im jae bum and Jea song it will bring me back to the dramaland .. the feeling of grievance from Dae Gil and the longing feeling from un nyun and also the devotion of tae ha really make me fell in love with this drama..

This is what I think why OST really need for kdrama for more excitement and more sentimental feeling for the audience to relate with the story..

Hi girls,
I'd like Heartstring OST. please>
I've liked Yong Hwa since I watched YAB where I cried for his losing Go Mi Nam to Hwang Tae Kyung. Ever since that drama I got to know more about Yong Hwa n CN Blue. As a matter of fact his band is the first Kpop Group I'm addicted to. I love love love "LOVE GIRL" so much that it's the trigger for me to watch Heartstring, and yes, I've fallen for Yong Hwa in this drama albeit the harsh critics on his acting.
Love love the OST><
Hah. can you imagine an Ahjumma's crush on such a young handsome Korean Band Leader????
(that's me, tho)....

I'd like to win SHINee’s “Sherlock” because I've always been a ShaWol (a SHINee fan) ever since I've branch out from KDrama to KPOP. As shameful as it is I don't have any of their album.

Minho has always been my favorite in SHINee because of the way he cared for that baby in the reality show Hello Baby. It's so sweet and since then I've carried a Minho flag like a cheerleader. When news of his name being attached to the Korean version of Hana Kimi broke out last year it was definitely one of the highlight of my fan girl life of 2011. Fast forward this July when he was confirmed for the role and I squeal like a 16-year old and did the dance of joy. I'm so excited to watch To The Beautiful You! Like asdfghjkl excited! The fact that I've already watch the Taiwanese and Japanese versions will not stop me from anticipating every episode of it. I hope dramabeans will recap To The Beautiful You! ><

Anyhow, I'd like to win SHINee’s “Sherlock” because If ever I win, I will freakin' spazz about it in Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Google+ and all SNS I have an account. I'm good at spazzing.. :D

Thank you for this opportunity Dramabeans!^^

Shinee's sherlock because believe it or not I was a fan of SM artists, back in the heyday of H.O.T. of course.
I was a big fan and even had Moon HeeJun's haircut - earning myself a glare from my parents....LOL....
I have been out of touch with the boyband world nowadays, partly due to their numerous number which makes it of course difficult to follow every band.
Inspite of being a grad student and a TA with students the age of the new boyband members now, I still get really nostalgic when it comes to boy bands...because H.O.T. was what really got me into kpop.....As years go by, I really want to relive the passion of my early kpop fandom days again and I thought that a Shinee CD would definitely spark off some of those passion that I had.

You've Fallen For Me!

I'VE FALLEN FOR YOU. Completely.
I think I am still under the spell of PSH as Kyu Won singing "I Will Forget You". She's obviously lying that she will forget him but I'm serious when I'm saying I can't forget this couple. I even went to Forever 21 to buy the mustard yellow skirt that Park Shin Hye wore for the drama poster. And everyone knows I hate mustard yellow to the same intensity as Mr. Evil Tae Joon hates Ahjussi Suk Hyun in You've Fallen For Me. And I can tell you because of my love for this drama, the yellow skirt has seen daylight many times in front of my astonished friends. If I can own the OST, not only can I further prove my heartstrings to this drama to my friends, but I would totally be Heartstrunnnggg!!! :) Pretty please with a big cherry or whatever favourite fruits you like on top!!

I would like to win SHINee's Sherlock CD for a number of reasons:

1. I have never owned a SHINee CD. I am a fan of SHINee, so I believe a CD would be the next appropriate step in our fan/artist relationship.

2. Every time I play a SHINee song, my loving mother always asks me "Ariel, what a lovely song. Who might those most angelic voices belong to?" and I always answer "Dearest mother, it is SHINee." Winning this album will help to further our mother/daughter relationship.

3. I read Dramabeans on a daily basis and it has been this way for a while. Even though I might not win this giveaway, it would certainly be nice to be able to tell my friends "Ah yes, I won this CD from a lovely website called Dramabeans. You should look it up!"

4. I still have residual feelings from the recent Jongtae "incident" and believe this album will help heal the pain in my heart.

5. When I get lonely at night, I can hold this to my chest and cry.

6. The next time I misplace my keys, I will be able to look my precious CD right in the eye and say "Sherlock, we have a mystery to solve!"

7. When "To the Beautiful You" premieres, I will be able to tell Minho directly (via album) how good/bad the acting/plot is. Hopefully, he will heed my words of advice and tell the director my suggestions. That will make watching this drama better for all of us!

While I could go on, we all know seven is a lucky number so perhaps it's better if I stop here. I would also like to say thanks to all the recappers out there! Oh and also, pick me!

I'd like to win that for my baby sister! She's a huge fan of the drama. I've caught her watching it a dozen times already and she's still watching it if she got nothing to do. I think it is her way of coping up with the failed love between Yong Hwa and Shin Hye in You Are Beautiful. :D

Also, she's going to celebrate her 18th birthday on September 11 and I thought this would be the perfect gift for her. Yay!

Thanks Dramabeans!^^

One vote for Chuno here. Forgive my ignorance, but before this drama I wasn't aware of slavery in Korean history. Needless to say watching historical k-dramas has piqued my interest in history in general. Sad that school couldn't do that for me, but true nevertheless! Other than that, this was the last thing I saw Lee Da Hae in before her hiatus, even though that wasn't until a bit after Chuno was over. Thanks for all you guys' recaps and hard work!

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST Definitely...!!

I completely LOVED the drama, it was the first one that showed a raw rock sound and awesome angles and lighting, unlike the bad-boy-pop-band dressed up with the title of rock music [with the exception of What's Up which also delivered a good dose of angst and raw feelings]. This drama was a nice surprise as I read the recaps before actually watching, since you guys were always faster than the subbers! I downloaded the songs you posted and I was thrilled with those possessions, listening to them whenever I could. Not in Love was in my mind for a long time and Jaywalking has it's own good stuff as well.

Either way, thanks for giving us the opportunity to aim for a prize in this addiction that we all have (:

OMG, what caught my eye was my beloved YongShin couple as your posted drama poster! Yes, I love this drama because it was about reminiscing about your youth, finding that one person, the heartache and the fun and falling in love! i will always love You've Fallen for me and I own the 2 OSTs and the DVD! and who doesn't love YongHwa and CNBLUe? didn't he say that Park Shin Hye was the 5th member of the band? I love their chemistry on and off screen!

The other drama I love was Flower Boy Band, the songs were better than what the other kpop idols were singing definitely! to this date i still love listening to WAKE UP!!! love the melody...RUN FOR YOU>>>I wake up/....a song for you...

I would love the Shut Up Flower Boy Band OST because:

1. the hours, yes hours i spent obsessed over every reccap even though I already watched the episode . . . twice
2. my friends wouldn't listen to me for a while because this was all i talked about
3. after DBSK my favorite k-pop band is INFINTE . . . too put it lightly (very) I kinda love myungsoo . . .
4. I've seen everything Sung Joon has been in, loved him in Lie to me
5. I listen to wake up at least once a week - no joke
6. i don't have any k-pop cds, or drama ost cds. this drama quickly became a favorite of mine (who doesn't love bromance?) and it would be and honor and it will make my year to get this :)

King 2 Hearts OST

It's the only drama which made me go home earlier to watch a new episode, refresh Dramabeans recap every minute or so, rewatch whatever episodes are available and heart skipping multiple beats whenever I hear Tae Yeon's Missing You Like Crazy. This song always reminds me of the scene where HaJiWon ran to LeeSeungGi in the snow in slow motion for a hug... Swoon~~~

I would like the flower boy band OST.
Honestly, I didn't believe that this drama have a great plot. After all, one of the cutest main characters got killed off in the first few episodes. Although I'm a sucker for sob stories, I didn't want to feel like an idiot bawling my eyes out to the second and third episodes of a new drama. But when I did finish the drama...I was moved. It was totally out of my expectations. Shut Up: Flower Boy Band was great. I really can't describe it aptly. But nonetheless, it was AWESOME!

(thanks for reading this by the way...)

For me, there's really no contest in which one I'd like. Shut Up! Flower Boy Band! I loved this drama at the beginning of the year, and now I'm re-watching it to relive the magic of it. I love the story and the characters, but what really made it magical for me was the music. Now, I would like to enjoy that music whenever I like. My love of Sung Joon would only be amplified a thousand times by listening to him sing and all the other characters, especially the short-lived, but hugely amazing Byung-hee (Lee Min-ki). So, to enjoy the music of this show, that is why I would like to win this OST. Thanks!

You've Fallen For Me OST

Although it wasn't the best drama out there and a lot more could have been done with the cast, this drama is still one of my favourites. I'm a big fan of cheesy romance dramas like this that really don't require much thought. It easily brings on smiles and laughter while watching.

This OST has been on the top of my summer playlist all summer long. This OST is one that can make me smile on a bad day. When I listen to it, and think about the drama, I realize that it's not something that can happen in the present or the future but it makes me happy to think in another dimension, this could be a reality. It's the dreams of happiness that push us forward. It's the hope that dreams of possible that motivate us.

I also actually love the cast of the drama. Some I've seen in others and I just couldn't get enough of them. I was really happy to see so many of my favourite actors and actresses all in one drama. This OST also features one of my favourite bands, CN Blue. I just can't get enough of them! I love listening to all their albums and it would be great if I could get my hands on this OST

I would love the You’ve Fallen For Me OST. I am the biggest fan of both Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye since you're beautiful and was sooooo sad when they didn't get together so i was ecstatic when i found out they were going to act together again. some people may have thought the story fell flat but I was the ultimate fan that stuck and loved the entire show from beginning to ending! i love love love the music from the drama and it would mean the world to me if i won. thanks dramabeans for this amazing oportunity tho!!! :)

You've Fallen For Me OST!!!!

I'm 35 years old yet I have enjoyed this drama as much as my 13-year-old niece. I may not understand all the songs but I love the beat and the way it goes and flows. Would really make my niece super happy if I could get this for her :)

shut up flower boy band!

Because it just gets me in the heart every episode. And it's the only drama I quoted girlfriday on facebook, tumblr and wordpress. (basically all the social media platforms I am on)

" I think what resonates with me the most is this world, the way it conveys the teenage malaise and feeling of being lost. It’s not actually a depressing world to me because they struggle with a version of the same things every young person fights against – feeling powerless, lacking purpose, wanting everything and having nothing. Tonally it strikes the perfect balance to say that this is what they feel, but that they can also have a sense of hope and pure joy in something that might seem insignificant: a piece of music, the perfect performance, a connection with one other person who might get it. And that just gets me in the heart."
- girlfriday (spot on, again)

I'm not good with words and my thoughts are everywhere so for someone to actually put it in words... I really thank you guys for doing that for me. And for the OST for carrying the rush of emotions that I get from watching the show, so well.
