Giveaway hootenanny: CDs and OSTs!

It’s a giveaway! It’s a hootenanny! It’s a giveaway hootenanny!

Here’s the shortened version of how this giveaway came to be: gummimochi says, “Hey, I have this CD I want to give away to fans to celebrate my anniversary with Dramabeans,” and we says, “That’s a great idea, let’s steal it and give away LOTS of stuff, because as we know, more is always better!”

So we’re giving away OSTs, one from each of us, just to say thanks for being you, and for sharing our neverending love of all things kdrama.

Rules:

Leave a comment here (with your real email address!), explaining why you’d like to win the CD of your choice. Maybe this was your favorite drama EVAR, or maybe you really want that disc to use for dart practice. Whatever floats your boat. You may enter for any or all of the CDs (separate comment per entry, please), but be sure to specify which particular one you are addressing.

Note that winners will NOT be picked in a random selection; each of us will choose one winner, to be announced next week. Meet back here on Sunday, August 12, for results!

SHINee’s “Sherlock”

gummimochi:

This time one year ago, I could never have imagined that I would be able to share my everlasting love for variety, drama, and pop music to a beautiful you. Putting all those together, I’ve chosen SHINee’s new mini-album, “Sherlock.”

Min-ho will be headlining the upcoming drama, To the Beautiful You, where he needs to be clued in that a he might be a she. Not like it takes Sherlock Holmes-esque detective skills to figure that out though, but hey – this is kdrama-land.

You’ve Fallen For Me OST

kaedejun:

Time flies when you’re having fun! It feels like yesterday when I wrote my first recap, and I can still remember that experience. 12 recaps and 2 years later, I’m still living through that experience – which I’ll never forget – thanks to Dramabeans, where discussion, fan-girling (or fan-guying), and sharing flow through like streams of consciousness during the lazy days of summer. Speaking of summer – this is why I’ve chosen the You’ve Fallen For Me OST. Its OST makes me think of sunshine, happiness, sunflowers, and daisies. Really. And it features CN Blue’s Jung Yong-hwa and Kang Min-hyuk, which is one of my few favorite bands (second to the almighty Big Bang). So I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, and live this summer out as carefree and happily as the students of You’ve Fallen For Me. I’ll see you at the beach!

Chuno OST

HeadsNo2:

This is a soundtrack near and dear to my heart, not only because Chuno will always remain one of my all time favorite dramas, but because it also represents one of my favorite aspects of dramas and Dramabeans – the ability to bring people together. By melding history with modern sensibilities, it’s a drama that broke ground and appealed to a mass audience, whether they were seasoned sageuk lovers or complete newbies to the genre. No matter what our favorite genre is, we all look for stories with the ability to move us, to transport us to another world, to be thought-provoking, to give us a reason to want to gather and share our thoughts, our experiences, and our love of community. One hundred posts later, I’ve definitely come to treasure the discussion that happens here and all the wonderful insights I’ve learned from our time together, and hope you can enjoy a soundtrack that moved and inspired me as much as I did, if not more. Oh, and ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥.

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST

javabeans:

There are a lot of reasons for me to single out Shut Up: Flower Boy Band, like the fact that it remains, more than halfway through 2012, the drama that touched my heart the most this year. Other dramas had the big twists, the high drama, the epic conflicts, and the quirky high concepts—but Shut Up, despite its small world and small stories, had for me the sincerest connection with emotion and angst. The people felt real and the drama was fueled by that pounding, aching, fluttering and sometimes raging heart that drove its characters.

But you know what? All that aside, Shut Up: Flower Boy Band had awesome music. It had the deftest way of working its music into the plot, effectively making its soundtrack a running storyline like it was a character of its own. So there.

The King 2 Hearts OST

girlfriday:

An epic drama that managed to steal my heart in an epic way. The King 2 Hearts swept me up in its tense action, side-splitting comedy and sweet romance at every turn, and the score played a big part in keeping me enraptured in that world. It’s also a drama that reminded me of the fervor of fandom — you guys made the crazy train fun (also crazy), and I was happy to come along for the ride. This OST probably marks those few months in time — the OMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT crack addiction — as much as the drama itself. Here’s to love in the DMZ, and sharing good dramas with friends from around the globe. Cheers.

Entry for the Heartstrings OST:

I am a huge fan of Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye. Also, the thing I loved the most about Heartstrings was the initial (since the drama didn't fully live up to my expectations) mix of traditional and contemporary music. My most favorite scene was the music battle between Lee Shin and Gyu Won's characters. My favorite song off the ost is "Because I Miss You." It shows the sweeter and slower side of Yong Hwa's voice. <3

You’ve Fallen For Me OST

This year, I converted my mom into a kdrama fan. Now she watches tons of kdramas and loves singing along with their theme songs. So I gave her a Boys Over Flowers OST for her birthday, which she plays over and over again. I can't even count the number of times I've heard "Paradise" blasting through the house. I figure if I give her the You’ve Fallen For Me OST, she'll love it and I already love it--plus I won't mind when she plays it all the time! It's a win win situation!

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band...
Which made me wanna be a guy and have multiple bromances...
kidding.
From the many moments in the drama that stood out the one that stays with me is the ending scene.
The boys joyfully running away from their teacher as they go together to visit their friend...It stuck me right in the place that'll forever stay young that sometimes takes over for a fleeting moment when you forget about everything in your mind and you are genuinely innocently happy.
In the end the way they are together and themselves at the same time gives a little hope to the rest of us that after all the happiness can remain after all.

SHINee's Sherlock CD please! I've seen them in concert and they're amazing! Possibly the best dancers in the kpop world too. When i went to Japan a couple weeks ago, I looked for the Sherlock CD everywhere, but unfortunately could not find it :( I also live the hippie look they went for this time. Thanks! :)

King2Hearts OST

I LOVED!!! this drama to bits and pieces. It was perfect, sad scenes and all. The thing that upped the drama for me the most was the OST. It had this great sense of greatness in it that really amplified a lot of the more important scenes in the drama. The couple of scenes that have continued to stay fresh in my mind long after the drama finished was the first scene where Jae Ha is first informed that he is the new king and everyone bows down to him. The music in this scene really helped, the entire scene with the music pulled at my emotions.

The second scene I'm talking about is the one where Shi Kyung pledges his unwavering allegiance to Jae Ha. I've gone back and rewatched that scene many, many times and I still get teary every single time. The music used in that scene fits the mood and meaning perfectly.

I just love the drama and the ost along with it. Not all dramas can successfully accomplish layering in the music perfectly, but this drama does it.

I would love to win the Shut up Flowerboy Band OST because unlike most dramas that have ballads galore this soundtrack had music I actually enjoyed! and Lee Min-ki covering Crystal Castles, that pretty much blew my mind.

Also, thanks for another give away! I heart your blog so much!!

this drama is one of the first that caught my attention from drama fever (back in the days when i didn't have premium and had to painfully sit through all the commercials) and hey, it turned out to be pretty good. ^^

not to mention that it stars jung yong hwa, and man, i love this guy and his band. his songs were the first ones that i can sort of sing along to. :D

(even though maybe, he should get braces)

Very Cool. If there was the OST from Warrior Baek Dong Soo or from A Gentleman's Dignity, I would be waxing on for paragraphs. But I still wanted to say that this is fun. Will the winners' entries be highlighted?

My preference would be SHINee's Sherlock please. I'd love this CD very much because I've always been drawn toward this particular SM group. I love their appearances in variety shows and absolutely LOVE when they have candid cameras. These group of boys are so talented and unique, and I swear I've watched almost all of the shows they've been featured in. I even tried to pick up some Korean just so I could watch some episodes without subs yet. SHINee, in my opinion is one of the groups, (along with SuJu) that has pretty decent variety/gag skills. I guess I sound like one of those typical fangirls who always paint their idol in the best light, but that's just how much I love SHINee! Key, the diva is my bias and I'd just really like to own this SHINee cd. My parents... ermm... let's just say they don't appreciate Korean culture as much as I do, so I end up having to pour my savings out to satisfy my kpop/kdrama greeds. Haha, I know most of you guys are worried about Minho acting in the Korean remake of Hana Kimi, and truth to be told, I am too. But I sincerely hope that he tries his best! In the beginning, I was too shy to post a comment, but now, I 'm so glad I do, because Dramabeans is a community. And I've realized how much time I spend, sharing my thoughts and feels on dramas that I almost feel like I know you guys in person! I love you guys so much for satisfying my drama addictions and thanks so much work for all these past few years!

SHINee’s “Sherlock”!

I'd like the CD because I've been an avid fan since they first came out. I want to continue keeping up with their music. I still love their older songs: Replay [Boom], Love Like Oxygen, and Juliette. I miss them a lot and this CD would mean a lot to me. Plus my middle name translated into English means "Shiny" it's another reason why I love them.

I would like to win King 2 Hearts! I liked the female lead not only because she is pretty but she also is able to portray her feminine side along with fighting. I also feel that Lee Seung Gi really played along as a young prince and player well off. I love the OST and especially the song Tae Yeon sang-Missing You Like Crazy. She really is the Queen of OST!

Shut Up Flower Boy Band OST!!!!! Oh my goodness can I just say that this made me day :) You are all the sweetest people to not only create this wonderful community where we all can squee to our heart's delight about dramas yet you also are offering giveaways. I think maybe you are too nice ;)

Anyway I LOVED Shut Up Flower Boy Band!!!! I do believe that it is my favourite drama of the year, and that the soundtrack really set it apart from the rest! When I first heard the songs I immediately checked youtube and every other place to find the OST and even downloaded the songs from the show instead of the actual versions because the songs were not only amazing, but they complemented the story perfectly AND there was just so much heart. And if there is one thing that I love more than anything else, it is heart!

Again, THANK YOU!! You have brought more smiles to my face than you could possibly know :)

Definitely something to watch in the summer. It filled me with excitement and a little of rage. Haha...the ending didn't really fulfilled my satisfaction. You know I have always wondered how their baby looked. Must be cute!

The King 2 Hearts OST!

I'd absolutely love to receive this soundtrack for a variety of reasons! One being that when I watch a drama, I hardly ever care for the songs used in it. With K2H, however, I found myself continuously searching for the different tracks! The instrumentals in this drama have tugged my heart at all the right places; they bring me feelings of bitter sweet nostalgia. Even now I still listen to the OST. This is one CD I really wanted to buy, but being a high schooler and living under my mother's roof prevented me from doing so.
This drama has also captured my heart in becoming one of my favourites (along w/ Coffee Prince and City Hunter). I watched it every week and because of it I had become negligent of my school work... sometimes.
All in all I really hope to win this CD because it will definitely please not only my ears, but also my.... wait for the corny.... HEART. :)

I would love to have the SHINee Sherlock album. (^-^)
Reasons being, I'm just absolutely inlove with them and their music. I've been in k-pop for going on about 5-6 years now. SHINee was my second group I discovered and ever since I first listened to them I just couldn't get enough and wanted more! All 5 boys are just amazing in so many ways. They have NEVER disappointed me and I don't expect them to start now. Also, I look forward to Beautiful, You. The OST is starting to grow on me. I love Hana Kimi so i have high expectations. I'm willing to give it a go!
This is a great opportunity :) thank you!

I am a big Lee Seung Gi fan. I started tuning into K-dramas in 2009 and Seung Gi's My Girlfriend is a Gumiho was the first K-drama that I've ever watched. After that I immediately fell in love him. I watched King 2 Hearts to support him and I fell in love with the drama and the rest of the cast.

I would like to win SHINee's Sherlock album. I love that Jessica from SNSD is in the MV. She looks quite mysterious and pretty as usual. I also love the photobook definitely something to treasure. The album cover was a new concept I've seen and the first time I saw it I thought it was ridiculous. A tribe living in a teepee...After seeing it for a while it finally grew on me. At least they showed some skin here and there. Fan girling! They still look good no matter what they are wearing!

The Shut Up: Flower Boy Bad OST!

Like you, I love the drama (probably my favorite of the year thus far) but the OST is a must have for me. The music is always on replay in my head, and somehow it always hits the right spot for me every time I listen online. It's the perfect combination of music that is raw, energetic, and slow, yet powerful. The music is addicting. It feels original and seems like it is overflowing with youthful energy. Dang, I feel like a nerd for geeking out so much on just the music! I hope I'm not the only one that feels this way haha.

Also, to be honest, I have never owned a CD/OST in my life. It would be awesome to have my first CD/OST ever to be one as amazing as this one where I can connect to the music and jam in the car while driving :D

Thanks guys for doing this awesome giveaway!

I would like to receive the "Shut Up Flower Boy" OST because this is one of those Dramas that really felt "real" to me. This drama explores the ups and downs of being young in an adult world. How nothing goes as planned and how tragedy can push you to achieve things you never knew possible.

This resonated with me because of my own personal experience regarding my grandfather who passed away in 2009 from diabetes. All my life, I had struggled with my weight, and after a while, my own doctor told me I was on the brink of becoming a diabetic myself. I remembered thinking of my grandfather and everything he went through because of it. His death from diabetes motivated me to lose weight and get healthy so that I could be proud of myself as well as make my grandfather proud I didn't travel down the same path. So, how The boys pushed forward from Byung Hee's death, I pushed forward because of my grandpa's and the life I wanted to have.

But of course, that's not the only reason why I would love this album. The characters were raw and the emotions they conveyed really shined through: The Bromance, the sacrifices, and the romance. The OST really completed the show because of its rough style and indie boy band sound, which was great because it didn't sound like some "Justin Bieber" soundtrack, it sounded like a group who wrote their own songs and worked hard to create their own sound, which really helped the ambiance of the show.

Im sure we all loved the bromance, but what I loved the most was how although a leader was chosen for the group, there was an underdog that had the potential to overtake. It really put an intensity on the show, because Hyun Soo (L) not only wanted to stay by his best friends side, but also had an obligation to make money for his sick sister. I'm sure many of us were banging our heads on the table because we thought "JUST TELL YOUR FRIENDS! THEY WILL HELP YOU!!" But, this was also handled well in the sense of depicting a teenage male. He didn't want pity and he didn't want to bring his friends down. Just another example of how protecting your friends can also be the reason you push them away.

LAST thing, I promise!, I loved SOO AH! She was the best love interest I could have asked for. She didn't beat around the bush and she knew what she wanted. She wasn't a helpless heroine who needed saving and she understood the life of the boy she loved, so instead of complaining, she supported him on the sidelines. I even love how she didn't nag about going from riches to rags. She sucked it up, got a job, and moved out of her expensive apartment. She was soft, but didn't believe everything she heard, and I think that made me fall in love with the show even more.

I know it's a while ago, but I loved the coffee prince ost so much:) well, pretty much everyone liked that ost:) I love listening to it, an whenever I do, all these great, warm feelings come to mind again and take me back through the drama again:) even thinking about it is giving me tingles! (doesn't that sound like a disease?...)

Aw man. Giveaway tiiimes!!

Though I'd like all of em, I want the Shut Up Flower Boy Band OST to gift to my best friend who used to be anti-dramas, UNTIL Shut Up happened. I'd LOVE to surprise her with the OST cos, c'mon! THAT drama's soundtrack was nothing short of perfect, given the storyline, the angst and the beauty of teenage years. I want her to relive the good ol' years we spent and remind her why I'm probably the nicest friend around hereabouts. Kidding.
But really, I want to gift my bestie the OST and reinforce the K-love growing in her and make sure she never ever leaves the drama love behind. Ever!

A biiiiiiig thanks to all of Dramabeans staff for the fun things they plan out for us fans. Spread the k-love =D

Shut Up Flower Boy Band OST, definitely.

I haven't watched the drama, but I did follow the recaps on dramabeans religiously, and fell in love with the story as well as the characters. I'm a writer of young adult books and I find their adolescent struggle, growing pains, and friendship very inspiring.

I've also been listening to the MP3 clips on each recap if there is one, and I fancy their songs, being a 90's alternative and punk rock lover. I also collect a series of K-drama OSTs just for the sake of it, and play them on shuffle on my iPod and get goosebumps whenever a particular song reminds me of a particular well-loved scene.

That's why I'd really like the CD :)

Anyway, thanks for recapping the series and introducing me to Sung Joon. Like him in this drama best, even though I've watched Lie to Me and don't find his character interesting there.

Hot guys with eyeliner that are in a band what more can you ask for.
The drama was such a wonderful surprise and for once the heroine was like a real genuine person and the romance in it wasn't over the top but more realistic and absolutely adorable.
The music was great and Sung Joon could really sing and sounded awesome.
This drama made me remember my inner fangirl who wants to put up poster on the wall of her favorite band member.

So that is why I would love this OST, the music reminds me so much of adolescence and because I am still in that phase myself, the music pushes me through the days of being a high school student. Its awesome to start the day with some raw, powerful music and I would be so happy to receive this OST! Thank You!

P.S. It's awesome you guys are doing this, especially by not randomly choosing :P SORRY for making my comment so long though :P haha

The King 2 Hearts OST or Shinee's Sherlock

The King 2 Hearts because Taeyeon sang one of the ost's. she is by far my favorite kpop singer of all time. the king 2 hearts was one of the best dramas i've ever watched and the fact that Jae Shin and Shi Kyung couldn't be together still makes me cry. I loved the message the drama sent, that even though you love someone, it's not always meant to be. Also, Lee Seung Gi is hot.
Shinee's Sherlock because they were the first kpop boy band that i listened to. I just re-watched Shinee's Hello Baby and it made me love the boys even more. They have such amazing voices and not to mention, faces. I love them all and i will continue supporting them.
Today is my birthday and i hope i win! Thank u so much for this giveaway!

I would love the Shut Up Flower Boy Band OST because it's just about my favorite drama ever, and I haven't even seen it yet. I had to put this show off to make way for a thesis, graduation, internship, etc. I anxiously waited for every recap and then just as anxiously kept myself from reading them so I wouldn't spoil it. I have never been so excited about a show I've never seen, and the music is about half of why I want so badly to watch it. Just as soon as I finish marathoning Delightful Girl Chun-hyang tomorrow. . . .

The King 2 Hearts <333
Because lets face it...I need me some music to alleviate the depression after they decided to kill of Ernest Bot (I'm still pissed that they did that ...its almost on par with my anger at HGD's ending).

But besides all that, OSTs can make or break a drama and this one definitely made it! I love when actors/actresses sing a relevant song for the drama they're working on. It just adds to the overall experience. Now if only puppy Seung Gi had sung one for this drama as well..

I would love to get the Sherlock album, not for myself, but for my best friend Tia. Although I LOVE SHINee to bits, my friend Tia has been a die hard fan of them even longer than I have. If she had her way, she would spend all her money on Kpop Albums and YesStyle.com, but unfortunately her family is in financial trouble and so extra spending money doesn't come easily. She's loved this album and so if I got this I would give it to her, my best friend! FIGHTING!

I would LOVE the King 2 Hearts OST. It's one of my favorite dramas, and the best one, so far at least, this year. The music was perfectly in sync with the scenes, tugging at my heartstrings, which, near the end of the show, were close to non-existant... Hang Ah was such a great female lead, one of the few that are powerful and actually have a backbone. And she's a badass! Major points for that. Jae Ha's character development was a crazy journey. All in all, it was just a great drama and the music was a definite plus, fitting in where it needed to; nothing was overdressed nor was anything downplayed.

Shut Up Flower Boy Band was my drama crack for 2012! The characters were endearing and my poor heart loved and hated the roller coaster bromance between the band members. I would lurve, lurve, lurve the King 2 Hearts OST. It was a drama (not without it's weak moments) that had me fist-pumping and shouting out loud at the awesome moments, crying at the tear-jerking-sad moments, falling in love (even more) with Jo Jung Seok - ah that beautiful, beautiful man! but most of all, I think seeing Seung Gi become a king really was an excellent drama viewing experience. He really rocked that performance. I am so impressed with him. And in case you haven't seen this yet - because I will always need to Eun Shi Kyung: http://www.youtube.lu/watch?v=i7jQyXe6qJE&feature=relmfu

I just watched MTV Acoustic with CN Blue and I'm SO in love with Yonghwa all over again.

And lastly, the OST for YFFM is just wonderful!!

I would like to win the King 2 Hearts OST! =)
The songs and the music instrumentals breathed life into this awesome drama. This drama undoubtedly became one of my favourite dramas of 2012 as it touched my heart with the sincere and powerful acting from all the leads. We grew up with all the characters throughout the 16 episodes, especially Jae-ha. We laughed and cried with them along this awesome and unforgettable journey. Two awesome leads, Jae-ha and Hang-ah, showed us the power of love that overcomes everything (even a war). Their journey remains my heart despite after the drama ended. The music and songs brought life into every scene in the drama, from lovey-dovey romantic scenes to the super tension ones. So here's to our Kng Jae-ha and Queen Hang-ah! Of course not forgetting our dear Shi-kyung, who still lives on in my heart! *salutes!*

I mean who can resist leeseunggi. Hands down The King 2 Hearts OST is the clear winner in my heart. Well first, thank you GirlFriday for your recaps that were so dead on with every detail that I was able to experience the episode again in words. And, of course your comments at the end made it all the more satisfying. But The King 2 Hearts OST has rekindled my love for korean dramas. I took a bit of a hiatus between my undergrad years. I decided to try a drama one random afternoon when I was so fried from studying anatomy. I stumbled upon your recaps. Captured my heart after one episode, started watching all night, and boyyyyy, the korean drama addiction began, again. For some reason, King 2 Hearts just seemed to have the perfect amount of plot, character development, music, beautiful actors/clothes, and just this click of korean entertainment magic. I seriously don't understand how they make things so catchy ;) Weeee dramabeans ftw.

The SHINee CD, s'il vous plait!

Why?

Well, who could NOT love a boy band just chockful of hot, adorable idols who do that terrific knee-wiggle/shuffle foot
dance in unison?!

:)

I would love to own the Heartstrings OST!

I'm new to Kdrama obsession (and--sort of--to Dramabeans; this is my first comment, but I've been reading your posts for a few months now), but the list of dramas I've watched is steadily rising. Heartstrings was one of my most recent dramas, and although the story itself may have been nothing spectacular, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Partly because of Heartstrings, and partly because I also recently discovered Running Man (on which Jung Yong Hwa is almost absolutely my favorite guest), CN Blue has risen to the top of my Korean music radar. I also have a weakness for history, so the traditional-western music fusion is especially fascinating.

(On a--nearly--unrelated note, it's funny how quickly things escalate. Just a little over half a year ago, I sat down to watch my first kdrama, just to see what it was like. Now simply hearing the word "Korean" turns my head. I'm so glad I found Dramabeans to fuel my obsession and help my knowledge of the Korean language and culture to grow. Thank you!)

The K2H CD, please!

The OST is wonderful, and a great reminder of how totally kick-ass Hang-ah was, and watching our PUPPY grow a set and become the alpha-dog he was destined to be was just awesome.
:)
