Dramabeans Meetup Update

According to our initial polls, most of y’all are up for an in-person meetup with the Dramabeans family, and by our count a whopping 610 of you said you’d really, seriously come to a meetup in the NYC area next month. We’ve locked down a date, and now we need a count in order to proceed.
When: Thursday, April 11, 2013. Tentatively 6-9 pm.
Where: A watering hole in New York City* (details TBA)
*Note that this will most likely be a 21+ event, which we know is a bummer. It’s not our preference and we tried our best to find venues without age restrictions, but for this date it’s probably our best option. We’re definitely going to make sure that future meetups will be open to all ages. (We’re looking at LA as the likeliest locale for a second meetup.)
So. You in or you out? The poll is not binding, of course, but we really do need an accurate picture of what to plan for, so please only vote yes if you really intend to make it. Thanks!
We also got an overwhelming number of responses from those of you who would love to meet up with other Beanies but live in other cities and time zones and countries, so we wanted to create a place where you could organize unofficial Dramabeans Meetups in your own region. Although a forum would have been ideal for this, we’re lacking the requisite techiness so we’ve carved out a landing page here for you to find fellow Beanies near you: Meetup landing page.
We’ve started with the regions with the biggest concentration of our readers, but feel free to request your region to be added to the list. If there are enough people who want to meet up, we’ll add pages as we go.

I was all set to go! Then I realized that I'm off on vacation to the wilds of Las Vegas the following week and I think Work would frown on me taking 2 trips back-to-back (even if I do have 25 days of PTO yet unscheduled).
Next time, for sure - and you must have a next time!

I think it totally appropriate the minimum age requirement is 21, especially for New York. That being said is there a max on how you can be to join this party? Old lady like me might put a damper on the festivities LOLLOL.
I would love the chance to talk with others about K-drama and the cultures but I can’t make Thursday it a 2 hour drive so I will have to leave work early and go to work late on Friday….:( I would have differently attend if it was on a Friday on the weekend great company and good food hate to miss it, I guess I have to wait for the next meeting up to get my drama grove back.

This is my DokMi moment ... venturing out of my home town for the 1st time in 2 years, alone, to the big city from my rural area where there are more cows than people. Eek. So when you see the timid white haired woman nervously looking to see if she has located her KDrama loving Beanies, please come up with a warm smile and tell me I've arrived.
Great to have a reason to make this trip. So looking forward to being with you all.
I might wear my "Closet KDrama Fan" T-shirt to this occassion.
