Oh Snap! Three musketeers go modern for Vogue

Erm… the previews for action-sageuk drama Three Musketeers looked pretty spiffy, but what say you to this photo shoot of the cast members (Lee Jin-wook, Jung Yong-hwa, Yang Dong-geun, and newcomer Jung Hae-in) in the new issue of Vogue? Cool and modern, or cheesy Ren-Faire costuming?

Three Musketeers premieres on August 17.

While there's too much pretty for me to really complain...this feels kind of uninspired. The accessories just feel tacked on and the modern clothes are, I dunno, just super normal. It's Vogue. I expect more.

Would love it if all these great tvN shows could be added to the "CURRENTLY AIRING" list. There are so many new shows emerging, it's getting hard to keep the schedule straight. :-)

I second that. I have been using this listing as my Drama Bible's content page. I often wished DB would create a Friday-Saturday category and Friday only category, but I've been too timid to ask.

I vote for tacky, trying-too-hard costuming. The toy armour is just so ugly and the bracelets(?) look like they came from the dollar store. Between this and Nightwatchman, I'm still trying to figure out which one looks worse.

Nah, that first one is baaaad. It's just tacky. Loving the second one because Yong Hwa is looking hot, as usual. Last one is just meh.

Oh the turtlenecks....Kill it! Kill it with fire!!

and LOL at the expression on LJW's face in the first pic Ha!

Besides that, really forward to this drama! :)

PFFFFT. I love it. This looks like it's gonna be a good foursome. The newbie looks cute! But does anyone know if they cast a female lead yet?

Be-jeweled sword accessory with chain-link precious metal bracelets, why didn't I think of that?

I just can't picture Jung Yong Hwa as a tough guy.
At least, I *think* that's what he's trying to portray in the pictures.

It's not that it's a bad thing.
The suit and colours look fine on him, but the look on his face--- I don't know. It doesn't work for me.

And- I don't think it's cheesy, I just think the whole concept doesn't work. The armor (even as partial armor) just doesn't work well with everything else.

*shrugs*

you guys just don't understand ~high fashion~ lol I'm joking. it's vogue. they were never going to style them in a normal/less flamboyant way.

I have to go with "uninspired".
Who the h... matches badly-made turney armor pieces (way too big) with fantasy toy swords and a viking helmet? Looks like the designers just rummaged through the props room and took whatever weapon/armor they could find without any kind of concept...

I would have chosen a simple épée/rapier which would also match the turtlenecks AND be a reference to musketeers.

Dramabeans! Would you mind translating two new short previews of TM? I'm dying to know what Yang Dong-Geun's character is saying (he says: "삼총사..." and then?) ^^ TY!

He says, "삼총사? I like that! (난 마음에 든다)".

Unispired. If they were refrencing the original characters, were armours worn by them? Or was I influenced by Hollywood?

I expected a better photoshoot, Vogue. The last photo looks a little better but still not great.

Anna Wintour will have a fit. LOL

Whether they, originally, had armor or not, at least when they put armor on them- shouldn't it be a prettier thing than what they have on?

I don't know what's with that photoshoot.
The suits are fine, but the armor is plain to a fault, and there isn't enough of that theme to make sense.

The Musketeers did not wear armor. Pretty much if you've gotten into gunpowder (i.e. muskets) then armor is useless and just weighs you down. They just wore fabric and swords mostly. This whole shoot was just...yeah, random and not so awesome.
