Name That Drama: Makeup-free video chats and invisibility jackets

We got more calls for help this week! Can you help fellow beanies find the show they’re looking for? Or do you also have that one K-drama scene stuck in your mind and Google isn’t helping? Email us your questions and requests for future Name That Drama installments.

  1. A classic falling scene

I was hoping you could help me find a drama. I remember watching part of it a few years ago, but cannot remember the title or the actors.

I just remember a scene where the guy is in the hospital with a broken arm (I think he was pushed down the stairs), as the girl is sleeping on a mattress on the floor below him. He wakes up and sees her there and tries to fix her blanket, but falls on top of her.

Does this ring any bells at all? It’s been bugging me for a few days, so any help you can offer would be appreciated.

  2. Help a beanie find sleep!

It is causing me sleepless nights already and I can’t just move on.

I want to know which drama is this. Not sure if this is just one drama or two different dramas, but both involved train stations. Also, not sure whether it is from a TV drama or a movie. I can visualize the scene but not the faces of the actors. Hence, it is very hard for me.

Scene 1: He was waiting for her at the exit of train station based on her usual daily routine. Girl was descending from the stairs and she saw him waiting outside. When she reached the exit, he was not there. Then suddenly he appeared. He said something sweet and I think they kissed or hugged.

Scene 2: Girl had drinks with colleagues and her male colleague was hitting on her and wanted to accompany her on her way home. At the train station the boyfriend was waiting for her (right after the machine where you punch your ticket to get in) and got jealous in a cute way.

I really hope that someone could help me name these dramas. Thanks.

  3. Oh dear, why does this sound familiar?

I’m hoping you can help me out. I am trying to figure out the name of a K-drama that I saw in my nail salon. They were playing Youtube OST MVs and I didn’t see any names. All I can remember is that the main clips were a woman and a man video chatting (even when they are sleeping and eating). Some of it looked like they were in some European town, and there was a main clip where a man falls onto the ground hurt and bloody. The woman mainly didn’t have any makeup when they video chatted.

  4. A conspicuous disguise

Please help me! I can’t remember which drama it was where the lead girl is delivering something to the main guy, but to hide her identity, she zips up her hoodie, and it zips all the way up to the top of her head. It’s mesh so she can see out, but totally surprises him. And he can’t tell who she is. I think it’s an animal hoodie? Red? Please help me!

  5. Name that drama: disappointing daughter

I am usually great with dramas but after watching 80+ dramas, I am stuck with that one scene that is eating my mind away.

I don’t remember the channel, actors or even the location or anything. But there was this scene where a girl lies about her parents being in some fashion-related business abroad, but in fact she waited at a restaurant or something.

And then, a really powerful lady from her office (I guess?!) comes to her parents’ restaurant and this girl gets caught there. And so the lady says something like: I am not sad that you lied but I am sad that you don’t respect what your parents are doing.

I remember this dialogue clearly because it seemed really meaningful to me. Can someone please help me remember this drama?

Thanks for playing, everyone — till next time!

Super excited that I actually know the answer to one of them!

Is #4 from One More Happy Ending?

Ah, just realised I was probably wrong. In One More Happy Ending, Jang Na-ra is in a cow onesy in an elevator (yes, I can't believe I'm typing this sentence either) and she zips it up to avoid her neighbours recognising her.

Jang Na-ra in a cow onesy in an elevator?

I’m tempted to watch for that visual alone.

You should! The cow onesy is in episode 2, so that's not a huge commitment, right? The first few episodes are hysterically funny. Then it goes off the rails a bit.

The fact that a K-drama flirts around with the idea of animal cosplay fetish is just awesome. It is one for the books!

You know, I just might! I love Jang Na-ra more and more with every passing day. I need to see this cow onesy.

@mindy, I think another Beanie said that it's our job to make sure we make others watch more dramas (was that you @kimbapnoona ?) so I've done my drama-pushing duties.

i find myself agreeing with you quite a number of times recently

#2, scene 2. I watched something really similar in Evergreen Love (Japanese movie). However, I am not so sure if that's the one you're looking for or not though.

I had the exact same thought. It's Sayaka and Itsuki (the couple from evergreen love; although when the train scene happened, he wasn't her boyfriend yet, that's why there's was so much tension (the good kind though).

I thought the same at first but I went to watch the scene (in ep 5) and it’s her in the hospital bed and him on the mattress (even though HE is the patient lol) and no one falls on top of the other. He just stares lovingly at her as she sleeps 😭💔

Just the fact that "a classic falling scene" is a thing in K-drama is pretty hilarious.

I don’t know the answer to any of these but for #1 I can’t help but imagine the poor girl getting squished!

Falling on top of someone is definitely not as graceful or gentle as dramas make it seem.

Plus he falls on top of her with a broken arm? That's gotta hurt

Required fields are marked *

Wait, the guy who falls on top of the girl in #1 is LMK?

In that case I retract my previous statement. I would not mind getting squished.

(Yes, I have a problem.)

(No, I don’t need help, thank you.)

I considered I Really, Really Like You but many people have said they only watched it for him and wouldn’t have powered through it otherwise. 😂 I’ll probably end up checking it out eventually, though.

Well, if Lee Min Ki is not enough, then maybe the scene of him falling on her, and then making a super cute scene ;) (trying not to spoil) hopefully will be worth it.
Number one was definitely I really really like you... I think around the final episodes though...

1

@iluvkdramas I have to wait all the way until the end to see that scene?! And isn't that drama, like, 30 episodes? Lol.

I'll put it on my list, though. I should at least check it out.

Isn't number 5 "Marriage, not dating"?
I think I remember a similar conversation in this drama, but I'm not so sure about this.
If this is right, the girl was the co-worker of the female lead.

At first glance I thought you were absolutely right, but I just so happened to finish re-watching this yesterday (what a coinkydink...) and the conversation about lying and respecting your parents doesn't occur. I think that part might have come from another drama, because you are correct that she did lie about her parents being in the fashion industry to her fiancee and she was indeed caught by her mother-in-law at the very end (but at a wedding where she blurts it out, not at the restaurant itself).

I was just looking for the scene again and "Marriage, not dating" should be correct. The said conversation is in ep 11, around minute 4 to minute 6.

Somebody may have answered #2, scene 1. For me it recalls a scene in jdrama Rich Man Poor Man. No kiss though. Probably just a hug for being reconciled after a tiff? But I maybe mistaken.

4. is definitely playful kiss. This is the part where BSJ ordered chicken from OHN working place and she had to deliver to him. In order to hide her identity she uses the most practical way of hiding it - zipping up her hoodie jacket all the way up .

#3 isn't it a scene from Dear my Friends? Jo In Sung extended guest cameo character was in europe and he'd been in a relationship with Go Hyun Jung's character and unfortunately, as things happen in dramas, he's in a very bloody accident just when he's rushing to meet her and propose. He is paralyzed, he doesn't ask her to stay and she moves back to Korea and he stays in Europe and they continue to video chat constantly.

number 5 is marriage not dating, I 100% remember this scene because it was the secondary character's future mother-in-law who is wealthy and you totally expect her to look down on the girl for not being wealthy but then the mother says something unexpectedly wise.
