Premiere Watch: Tomorrow

Time slot: Friday-Saturday
Broadcaster: MBC
Genre: Fantasy, action, drama
Episode count: 16

If Tomorrow’s posters and key art are any indication, we are in for a real visual treat with this drama. Although the casting admittedly caused a bit of a head-scratch moment for me, once I saw the promos and got a sense of the plot and source material, it started to make more sense. And now, I think it’s just about perfect. In addition to delivering on the visuals, and doing the original webtoon justice, the drama will also have to deliver a good balance of its fantasy elements and its rather serious backdrop.

Kim Hee-sun plays a team leader and reaper in the Crisis Management department which is tasked with saving humans from suicide, while Kim Ro-woon plays a human who gets caught up in the underworld. We are also being graced with Lee Soo-hyuk, who (of course) plays a reaper, and Yoon Ji-on, whose career I’ve been waiting to pop — so yays all around.

The teaser/trailer are pretty promising!

I like the 4 actors and they look great.

I really hope they will get 15% ratings to see them with pink hair (even if Rowoon could make only some strands of hair).

Kim Hee-Sun and Rowoon look pretty hot in the W KOREA pictures.

Tomorrow Tomorrow premieres.

It will be very confusing tomorrow when we have to say that Tomorrow premieres today.

If I had more energy I’d make a whole “Who’s on first” bit about this it amuses me way more than it should.

Today is the day that I can say Tomorrow doesn't air until tomorrow, but as soon as tomorrow comes I can't say that anymore, because then Tomorrow will be airing today and tomorrow. And if I wait to long then Tomorrow won't be airing at all, and I can't say Tomorrow airs tomorrow because Tomorrow will have aired yesterday.

This better live up to its promise and not be a stinker. My heart is a pit of despair right now and my brain can use a weekly break where I become so subsumed by watching something that I don’t think about our real world problems big and small for a little while. Let it be.

That cast… I shall be watching respectfully. I hope it’s good and can hit the ratings promise because just imagine Lee Soo-hyuk with pink hair.

I hope it is a wig, right? Otherwise, all that bleaching would do a number on her hair.

I don’t think it’s a wig. The hair looks very realistic and not very wig-like to my eyes, although I don’t profess to being an expert on good wigs.

But yeah, that amount of bleaching must suck. I can practically feel the hair damage.

It's not a wig. She filmed herself during the processus.

So there's behind-the-scenes footage of her transformation? That's cool. I get why she chose to dye her hair though, despite the potential hair damage. The pink hair on her looks absolutely stunning and could very well go down as one of the most iconic looks of her career.

They showed it in one of the promotion videos but MBC blocked them for international public >_<

1

Why am I not surprised? This isn’t the first time MBC made videos inaccessible to international viewers. *sigh*. When will they realize this is a detriment for their dramas?

2

Oooh didn't know this was based off of a webtoon.
Hoping this will be a good healing and fun drama.
