Jung Il-woo and Kwon Yuri do a Good Job of sleuthing

With the breakout success of Extraordinary Attorney Woo earning endless praise and adoration, expectations are undoubtedly sky-high for ENA’s next drama. Titled Good Job, the show promises to deliver a thrilling blend of romance and heroics. As if that isn’t enough excitement already, the drama also marks the reunion of leads Jung Il-woo and Kwon Yuri, who previously headlined Bossam: Steal the Fate together.

A chaebol by day and a private investigator by night, Eun Sun-woo (Jung Il-woo) isn’t your typical rich guy. Similarly, job-seeker Don Se-ra (Kwon Yuri) is no ordinary Candy, either. She’s gifted with visual hyperacuity, allowing her to see what most people cannot. As such, she wears thick glasses to prevent her ability from hindering her day-to-day activities.

The drama’s first main poster features our pair exuding confidence in classy formal wear. Sun-woo aims a money gun at the camera, hailing to his chaebol roots while hinting at his mischievous personality. Next to him, Se-ra is winking with an equally cheeky expression on her face, painting the picture of a perfect partner.

Se-ra’s exceptional vision may be a hindrance to her daily life, but to a private investigator, it’s a valuable asset. Sun-woo and Se-ra team up to investigate in the drama’s second main poster, but a closer look soon reveals that the two have very different goals. While Sun-woo, telescope in hand, is determined to uncover the truth, the reflection in Se-ra’s glasses tells a different story. Her focus is on the money she could earn from helping Sun-woo, since it’s much more lucrative than the odd jobs she’s currently juggling.

Good Job’s first teaser is a short one, but it offers us a peek at our capable protagonist. Declaring that he’s tired of being compared to Sherlock Holmes, Sun-woo claims that the only aspect he loses in is fame. Whether it’s his good looks, his personality, or his assets — Sun-woo’s miles ahead of Holmes.

While Sun-woo strokes his own ego, he’s also preparing for a case. Strolling through his expansive walk-in closet, Sun-woo slides on a ring and a pair of sunglasses. He rounds off the look with a long wig, completing his undercover disguise.

It’s a sharp contrast to Sun-woo’s usual dapper chaebol look, which we also get a glimpse of. Whether his brilliant mind can rival Holmes’ still remains to be seen, but Sun-woo certainly has duality, which will likely lead to some interesting hijinks.

Written by Kim Jung-ae (Short, Hometown Legends) and directed by Kang Min-gu (Pumpkin Time, Itaewon Class), Good Job is slated for an August 24 premiere, airing on Wednesday and Thursday nights on ENA.

Jung Il-woo is dope in those suits. Bossam must have done him wrong with the costume.

It’s finally here! I’m looking forward to this show the most of the new ones. I hope it’s as quirky as Jung I’ll woo is.

Thanks so much for the description of the plot and posters, I was at a complete loss as to what was meant by her vision skills until I read this! I'm looking forward to this as well. I might be completely off, but I'm thinking it may be a bit like the Thin Man movies (US movies from the 30's and 40's) with a Nick and Nora kinda vibe, or at least that is my hope.
