Geum Sae-rok and Noh Sang-hyun confirmed for Soundtrack #2

Disney+ is moving forward with the production of their Soundtrack sequel Soundtrack #2 with a casting announcement of their two leads Geum Sae-rok (The Interest of Love) and Noh Sang-hyun (Behind Every Star).

The mini drama will follow the story of two exes, Hyun-seo (Geum Sae-rok) and Soo-ho (Noh Sang-hyun). Having met in their college band and started dating soon after, the two were together for six years. But while school life gave them rosy idealism in spades, the pressures of post-grad life strained their relationship until a misunderstanding became the straw that broke the camel’s back, resulting in a breakup.

Four years later, Hyun-seo has given up on her dreams and is now a piano tutor, while Soo-ho is a rich CEO suffering from burnout. When the two coincidentally meet after years of not talking, they’re forced to sort through the resentment and unresolved feelings that have built up between them. Will these old flames find their way back to each other?

With the scripts written by Jeong Hye-seung and Kim Hee-won (Little Women) at the helm again, Soundtrack #2 is currently slated for a late 2023 release. While there’s no word on the original cast making an appearance, with filming currently taking place there’s still room to hope that Park Hyung-shik and Han So-hee will make a cameo. Please?

I didn't like the first one and watched it only for Park Hyuk-Shik.

So I hope this time it will be better. I'm really happy to see Noh Sang-hyun in a first role because he always made a big impression on me with his small roles in Pachinko, Curtain Call or Behind Every Star.

Are we having a Soundtrack # franchise.
I liked Soundtrack #1. And with Little Women's hands at the helm of things, this one should be a success as well.
And yes to a cameo from Soundtrack #1.

I am unreasonably excited for this. It won’t live up to my inflated hopes but maybe it will!

This premise is my jam. But I hope it has a better script than #1.

With recent news about Mouse's kdrama retreat I suppose we're not getting Soundtrack#3 lol. Maybe they still can salvage it if the music (and plot, and chemistry) is better this time around...

Loved Soundtrack #1, such a comforting watch. If SIG could do a quick cameo for the first maybe PHS and HSH can do the same, but both are busy right now so chances are probably slim.

I didn't really enjoy Soundtrack #1, it's too slow for my liking. However, I like the idea of a Soundtrack series featuring different kinds of love, romantic or otherwise.

Hope this #2 will be better than #1. Storyline sounds interesting enough.

I haven't watched season 1 with other actors. This season of the story promises to be more interesting than the previous one. Besides, I saw both of the main actors in different dramas and they attract attention with their acting. It's good that they got a chance to play the main roles here.

I loved Soundtrack #1. It's my go to for a short watch. It's my kind of jam when it comes to romance, especially those small, uneventful moments that often look unimportant but add so much to the story. The homely character that Seon Woo is, quietly doing day to day stuff while Eun Soo is the more flamboyant one, doing what's strictly needed to get by. The gender reversals have become more common than we think and this showcased it beautifully (the way he says - your place is a pigsty, and then proceeds to clean it up). She comes from a rich background, her parents live in Jeju, farm tangarines, she lives in a swanky apartment, drives a nice car, is a budding lyricist about to make it big. He comes from a modest background, shares studio apartment with his friend/manager, is on the precipe of becoming a world renowned glob trotting photographer. So when Seon Woo, deeply, madly, forever in love with Eun Soo and brutally friendzoned, gets a chance to move in with her, he takes it up, only to realize his life really hasn't moved much when it comes to Eun Soo and will probably not move ever. And he is making peace with it. It's Eun Soo's journey to meet him where he is eventually. If Soundtrack #2 is anything like the #1, I am in. And yes please, a cameo would be so so cool! Also, if they greenlighted Soundtrack #2, Soundtrack #1 must have been a win for Disney despite the bad press it received.

When he sighs and sits back in his seat after she verbally recognizes his eight years of loneliness…ugh. Amazing.

Or the time when she says he should come to her if he feels let down by 'Jennipher' and the shock and expectation in his eyes before it vanishes.....or the time his expressions change from a soft desire to complete panic when he realizes she is awake....That's Park Hyung Sik at his best. He does not speak a single word in any of these scenes and yet says it all. Ahhh!

I need to rewatch it.

While we are at it, the way he says 'This is crazy'...I feel it didn't translate well into English. His expressions and tone say 'This is driving me crazy' or 'I am going crazy'....can someone confirm? because it's English translation does not make it the big deal it seems to be.

It was one of the top 3 most watched shows when it was released along with In The Soop and Big Mouth so yea, Disney probably considered it a win.

It’s my go-to as well for something quick and comforting, like a “palate cleanser” watch after heavy or stressful dramas. :-)

I was apparently a rare fan of Soundtrack #1 and I really thought Geum Sae Rok was great in the frustrating Interest of Love. Looking forward to it.

I am in that small Soundtrack #1 fan club too😊 I made the mistake of subscribing to Disney + just to watch it so was proper gutted to then find it was not available in my region.

Me too! I think it worked well as a quick binge watch when it FINALLY dropped on Disney+US. I wonder how long they will make us wait again for season 2 after they broadcast in Korea. So annoying!
