Jo Byung-kyu gives his Counter Punch in The Uncanny Counter 2

Our superpowered demon hunters have returned, moving from OCN to tvN for the fantasy’s second season, titled The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch. This time, the team has grown from four to five and we get our first peek in the colorful new poster and accompanying video teaser.

Reprising the central role as the once-underdog So Moon, Jo Byung-kyu (Stove League) is now an experienced hero alongside his teammates and the teaser jumps straight into the action as they fight to save another day.

In the sequence, we also see Kim Se-jung (Today’s Webtoon) back as our “radar” Do Hana, together with Yoon Joon-sang’s (Alchemy of Souls) super strong Ga Mo-tak, as well as the team’s healer Chu Mae-ok – played by Yeom Hye-ran (The Glory).

The appearing text screen rallies the group, declaring that, “The battle hasn’t ended — let’s go catch demons again.” As if speaking to the audience, we then hear Moon in voiceover: “We’re sorry we’re late. You must have waited a long time.”

Closing the teaser with another action-packed sequence, we finally get our chance to see the story’s new demon villains: an icy Kim Hieora (The Glory) and the always great Kang Ki-young (Extraordinary Attorney Woo) – even if he’s evil. (I almost didn’t recognize them!)

Although they’re not featured in the teaser, we can’t forget Yoo In-soo (The Good Bad Mother), who will be joining the superheroes as their new rookie Na Jeok-bong, and Jin Seon-gyu (Behind Every Star), who plays a passionate firefighter named Ma Joo-seok.

With production continuing under PD Yoo Sun-dong (Vampire Prosecutor 2) and writer Kim Sae-bom, tvN’s The Uncanny Counter 2 will be returning to our screens this July.

Funnnnnnnnn! I can´t wait. It is the kind of stuff I watched as a teen in the 90ies, it is just my vibe. Superpowers, action, tracksuits... I should get some cheese crackers and gummy bears and a bottle of raspberry soda, and then you sit on a fluffy pillow on a sunday morning dressed up as one of the team. those were the days.

With UC2: COUNTER PUNCH coming in July I think this is a drama where it would benefit to watch season 1 first and get introduced to the four leads. It is a drama of great physicality for all four leads (and their stunt doubles).

It really is fantastic. Now as a sensitive watcher, I did FF some of the violence, but the storyline and acting is very good. And the anchor is the chemistry among the team.

It's been on my list for a long time because of the found family aspect, and I've pretty much only heard good things. Excited to finally make time for it!

Even if not my usual genre, I will watch anything (at least in the beginning) for actor Yoo In-soo. Uncanny Counter is definitely not something I would normally watch, but I've been looking forward to this since last September when they announced In-soo would be joining the cast and thankfully, we eventually learned he would be one of the good guys.

According to several articles "the poster shows the forceful silhouette of Counters looking at Zhongjin City.. . . In particular, the counters that have been upgraded with the addition of new counters are eye-catching. The first silhouette of Counters' New Face Yu In-su also steals the eye.

I take this to mean that the counter shown jumping through the air is In-soo's character "Na Jeok Bong". 😊😊
