Jang Nara’s marriage starts to crack in My Happy End

The newest teaser for TV Chosun’s psychological thriller My Happy End depicts its leads Jang Nara (Family: The Unbreakable Bond) and Sohn Ho-joon (The First Responders 2) in a happy marriage until things take a dark turn. As secrets come to light, our heroine’s world starts to fall apart, and at the crux of all this may be her husband.

Opening with a wedding, the teaser shows Seo Jae-won (Jang Nara) and Heo Soon-young (Sohn Ho-joon) deeply in love and full of joy. Soon-young promises to treat her even better, and Jae-won thinks to herself that every day was perfectly happy just like the last.

Soon-young lifts Jae-won in a hug, and their life together seems perfect. A sequence of happy moments plays on screen as the couple share cuddles, smiles, and a birthday party with their daughter — but as Jae-won beams into the camera, it suddenly cuts to her sullen expression.

The tone of the teaser shifts as lights flash, glass breaks, and items are tossed. Jae-won says that the truth within the happiness started to appear, and her once-ideal marriage comes crashing down at her feet. As someone follows her across a bridge, Jae-won runs in fear while soaking wet.

Confronting his wife about her erratic behavior, Soon-young says that he does not understand why she is acting like this, but in response, Jae-won flings a pot to the ground and walks away from him. As Jae-won drives her car through a barricade, she narrates, “The cracks created by the truth tore down my happiness.” The teaser flickers between Jae-won’s shocked face with Soon-young’s apathetic one, and then ends with a bright light shining towards Jae-won.

Written by Baek Sun-hee and directed by PD Jo Soo-won (Today’s Webtoon, Thirty But Seventeen), TV Chosun’s My Happy End premieres December 30 in the Saturday-Sunday slot.

If they need two dramas to make their marriage work maybe they just need a divorce. 😆

And the child wasn't a boy? What happened? a time travel consequence? 🤣

😂😂 Her previous drama was also a happy marriage turned wrong. Maybe she should just stop getting married.

Go Back Couple, VIP, the Last Empress, Family and now "Happy" End... Yep, she needs to stop getting married.

When I watched Go Back Couple I thought they had good chemistry, so I'm happy to see them together again, even though it seems a dark thriller or a melodrama... I like Sohn Ho Joon, I hope he isn't a villain.

You know, I was having happy thoughts about this drama. If not for @tabong's first comment, I would have found a reason to have fun out of the article. After Go Back Couple, this was a reunion drama gods knew I wanted and I'm sure it is not just me.

But reading the character descriptions...I'm lost for words. What the teaser and article is saying and what is on asianwiki are different. Asianwiki says this about Soon-young : "After their marriage, Heo Soon-Young prioritizes his family over everything else." Thus, my excitement took a sharp dip at registering the difference. But then, it's Jang Nara and Sohn Ho-jun - what's not to like about their chemistry. So they had better get their acts together, fight whatever hitch it is together, and come out in one piece - together.

I, just like you, hope Sohn Ho-jun isn't the villain. Dramagods had better make sure of that.

Despite some major hurdles, she and Jang Hyuk ended up happily married in Fated to Love You. The two also had a happy ending in Bright Girl's Success.
