Introducing the new partners in Chaebol x Detective

With the year coming to a close soon, a new batch of dramas are getting ready to hit the airwaves, including SBS’s Chaebol x Detective. The upcoming show stars Ahn Bo-hyun (See You in My 19th Life) and Park Ji-hyun (Reborn Rich) as your classic buddy cop duo, and promises to deliver tons of laughs.

Jin Yi-su (Ahn Bo-hyun) is a third-generation son of a chaebol family and lands a job as a detective through connections. Unlike your typical K-drama cop, Yi-su has both money and power — the epitome of “young and rich.” Transparent and shrewd, his favorite thing to do is play, but it will be hard to shirk his duties with his new partner around.

As the first female team leader of the Violent Crimes division, detective Lee Kang-hyun (Park Ji-hyun) is very much the opposite of her new junior. Her favorite thing to do is investigate cases, which will likely put her at odds with Yi-su. Described as easygoing and lax with traditions, Kang-hyun has plenty of things on her plate from solving a variety of mysteries to handling her new, annoying partner.

Also part of the Violent Crimes unit is Kang Sang-joon (True to Love) as Park Jun-young. He is Kang-hyun’s best friend and a level-headed detective who makes decisions based off reason rather than emotions. Lastly, rounding out the team is youngest member and “mascot” Choi Kyung-jin played by Kim Shin-bi (Revenant). Besides the main group, the show boasts plenty of veteran actors in its cast as well as a special appearance by Kwak Shi-yang (Cafe Minamdang) who will be playing Yi-su’s brother.

Written by Kim Ba-da (My Name) and directed by PD Kim Jae-hong who will be taking the helm on his first main project, Chaebol x Detective is slated to premiere sometime next month in the Friday-Saturday slot following My Demon.

Okay. The veterans are giving me the vibe. I might tune in to this to see Kim Myung-soo.

After One Reason We Can't Meet, I made a decision to see Kang Sang-joon's next project.

Bottomline, I have several reasons to check this one out.

Even if it isn't like Good Job's, I hope this one strikes its own landing.

The description gave me Good Job vibes, too! Although this one will probably be less light and fluffy...

Ahn Bo Hyun! Love that haircut! Might give this one a try since I like cop/detective shows.

More than anything else, I'm just looking forward to erasing more recent memories of Park Ji-hyun's frustrating characters (not because of her, just the characters themselves) and replacing with her as a pretty cool FL, from the sounds of it!

Park Ji-hyun redeemed herself with Reborn Rich. Her character was badass.

She was smart but i still found her character annoying in it. She looked that rich girl who's resting face is " I do not like the way this place smells" face

Please tell me this is a romance because that dynamic between the two leads sounds excellent for that.

I totally forgot about this one! Sounds like it could be fun, though. I will try it! 👍

Great replacement for My Demon. Just as I was updating my viewing schedule.
Overused premise but always fun. Ahn Bo-hyun is looking so fresh and radiant. I never realized Park Ji-hyun is so short. Hope she can be a convincing detective. Bring it on!
