Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee versus Gyeongseong Creature

Netflix’s historial adventure thriller Gyeongseong Creature is just around the corner, with Part 1 dropping in two weeks, so it’s only right that we get a nice full-length trailer to pull us into the story. Set in 1945 Korea, the drama stars Park Seo-joon (Itaewon Class) as a cunning businessman with a killer smile, and Han So-hee (Soundtrack #1) as a tough-looking outlaw of sorts who also looks drop-dead gorgeous in a dress and veiled pillbox hat.

The trailer gives us a bigger look into the world of Gyeongseong Creature, with our hero Jang Tae-sang (Park Seo-joon) confronting Yoon Chae-ok (Han So-hee) who has appeared in town. Despite the initial mistrust between them, they soon team up when creepy news of monstrous happenings in the derelict Ongseong hospital spreads around. And there they discover a portal to hell a lot of evil things that require fearless heroics. While it’s unclear how supernatural this story will get, it promises to look into the nature of humanity. And there were be a little ~romance~ too, by the look of those moony eyes and promises our leads make each other in their darkest moment.

Happily, this full trailer also shows some of our support casting, and we’ve got Wie Ha-joon (The Worst of Evil) as Tae-sang’s best buddy Kwon Joon-taek — though he’s looking quite ominous — and peeks of Park Ji-hwan (My Lovely Boxer), Hyun Bong-shik (Destined With You), and Jo Han-chul (The Matchmakers). Also appearing are Soo-hyun (a.k.a. Claudia Kim), Kim Hae-sook (My Demon), and more.

Directed by Jung Dong-yoon (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay) and written by Kang Eun-kyung (of the Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim series), Part 1 of Gyeongseong Creature drops on December 22, and Part 2 on January 5.

So. JAZZED. I'm excited for the timing of this, the cast, the setting, the fact that my partner is already interested in watching with me, and the fact that we won't have to wait long before the second part drops. All of it.

Same thing happened to PSJ's face. They photoshopped their faces too much.

I'm more concerned about the exterior of the hospital. Most CGI thing I've seen in my life.

They essentially killed the mystery regarding titular creature with this poster. Tentacles? Well, this might be first for a kdrama, but other than that - meh.

And I am sure you heard the ‘Ave Maria’ at the end of the trailer. It will be interesting to see the context.

So this story takes place in 1945 during the (baddies) Japanese occupation of Korea before the end of WWII in Asia which is dated Sept. 2, 1945.

I did but ... I actually first thought of how some classical tracks are overused by kdramas and few to their greatest potential effect LOL. Like In The Hall of the Mountain King most recently in Park's Marriage Contract or Carmen Habenera, constantly. 😅😅🤭

And yes, the setting in terms of the exact date it's set is basically my main draw to and the main reason I'll try this show, although I'm still not convinced it's going to do its time period justice either pffffft.

Cynical me strikes again, alas. 🤣

Hmm ... after intense fighting with the creature I like how the leads only have one strategically and correspondingly placed tiny little scratch on their cheeks, with hers larger than his.

Caption regarding the mere scratch
Is he willing to sacrifice his beauty ⁉️🫠

He's sure to use her as his shield from the dastardly tentacles.

Nevertheless, I'm in for the mood, setting, clothes, vibe and Ha Joon. Hopefully the faces of the actors won't be this over photoshopped mess in the drama and is only the usual exaggeration in a drama poster.

this would be so good if they actually used modern Gen Z slang like say sus instead of suspicious
