Name That Drama: Metro indoctrination and volatile gum

1. I do wonder why baseball is the favored sport of dramas
   

   Hi, Beanies!

   There is a scene that keeps appearing in my head but I can’t remember from which drama it’s from. It’s bugging me.

   A girl visits her father (who is a baseball coach) before a match. There is a jinx: If she comes to watch her father’s team’s match, the team will lose. But fortunately, the team wins.

   That’s all I remember, hope you know what drama it is. Thank you.

    

2. This sounded familiar up until the rice bowl,
   so it’s up to you, Beanies!

   A kind, rich boy spends the night with his girlfriend’s family. They were quite average, financially speaking. I remember the family loved the boy so much and taught him many things he never experienced with his wealthy family before. One of those things was for him to shake his rice bowl before eating so that no rice would get stuck on the bowl’s surface.

   Later, when he went back to his home, he did exactly that when he was having breakfast with his family, much to his parents’ horror.

    

3. Name That Ad
   

   Hi, so I’m currently in China and there’s this ad for a drama or movie that they keep playing on the metro. And I’ve seen it so many times now that I just want to know what it is, but I can’t read enough characters to work it out. They keep showing a few scenes from the drama/movie cut with scenes of the actors doing promo on talk shows (I think), and also an award ceremony, so I assume it won some awards.

   From what I can gather, the basic premise is: A famous girl (actress, singer, entertainer of some sort) and a normal guy get together. There’s a scene of the guy walking along with another girl, and the main girl sneaks up behind and slips a piece of paper in his hand.

   There’s also a scene where he says, “You’re famous.”

   Her: “Am I? Soon you’re going to be famous too, because you scored a famous girl.”

   And also a scene where they are outside, maybe on a rooftop, and he says, “You must think I’m a real piece of trash.”

   Her: “A little. Almost as much as I am.”

   I think it’s a few years old, perhaps? And I’m assuming it’s Chinese because I’m in China, but obviously that’s not a given. And it has English and Mandarin subs on the clips they play on the metro. If anyone knows what it is I’d really appreciated knowing. Thanks!

    

4. This may be the weirdest entry yet. I’m intrigued
   

   Hello fellow Beanies!

   I’m hoping someone can help me figure this K-drama out. Pretty sure it was from the early 2000s.

   All I remember is a scene where the main (highschool) girl is fighting off a bunch of bullies. And one of the bullies somehow spits gum at her that has sharp metal in it… and the girl manages to deflect it. I know, it’s weird. LOL.

   So the main girl somehow throws the gum back at the bully (I could be wrong), and the bully opens her mouth, and the gum goes back inside, and she chews on it… o_o.

   Me and my mom have been wracking our brains trying to figure this out. I think the main girl had short hair and was kinda eccentric, which is why she was being picked on.

   Gladly appreciate any help!

    

5. This one sounds harrowing… and I kind of want to see it
   

   I came across a Japanese drama a few years ago. I watched the first few episodes, and then I was too busy to continue watching so I dropped it, only now I want to watch it again. I’ve forgotten the drama’s name. 🙁

   The drama starts when t he leads were still young. They lived on an island, and one day the lead girl’s dad came home with a mistress and asked the girl, her mother, and her brother to move out. He declared that he was so tired of being the main breadwinner of the family, and the mother was so in shock that she lived in denial.

   I remember that there was a scene where the mother went to spend all the child support money on cosmetics and luxury bags—she left the kids without food for days. The girl had to go to her dad’s house to ask for money, but her dad wasn’t there. The mistress didn’t give her money but asked the kids to come every day to make them beg her for food.

   That’s why when the girl grew up, she always made sure to fill the fridge. The leads were schoolmates, the boy’s family owned a guest house or a restaurant or something, but they were about to go bankrupt and had to sell the business.

   Somehow, one day, the boy decided to burn his house, and when the police suspected him, the lead girl covered for him and said that they spent time together when the fire happened. They became closer because they shared that secret.

   That’s all I watched! Please please help me, I’m dying to know what happened next!

    

6. It surely or not surely took place during a specific time of day
   

   Please help me name this drama! It’s a Taiwanese drama, I’m pretty sure. I watched it a long time ago, maybe pre-2006.

   It’s about a male high school student who falls in love with his female teacher. I just remember a scene where the female teacher lost her contact lenses. And also, there’s a scene where the male student waited for the teacher in front of the school’s bathroom (he accompanied her because she lost her lenses), and he sang for her. I’m not really sure but I’m sure it was at noon, bright and at the school.

   Please help me. I have been trying to remember this drama since forever!
