Day 7: A book that makes you laugh
The Jess Jordan books by Sue Limb. These books are just flat out, laugh out loud funny. I grabbed the first one as an audiobook when I had an hour long commute to work. I had to pull over my car I was laughing so hard.
The first one is called Girl, 15, Charming but Insane.
Ive read some pretty funny adult books and some pretty funny books in recent years. But when I need a quick pick me up Girl, 15, Charming but Insane is where I go. I also really like the Heather Wells Mysteries by Meg Cabot. The first book is called Size 12 is Not Fat its about a former almost pop idol (she never made it HUGE but she had some hits.) who is down on her luck. She starts working at a dorm in NY and one of the students dies. Its up to (for some reason) Heather Wells to solve the mystery! Both of these books are such a rocking good time that when I need a laugh I find myself reaching for these instead of trying to find something new.
Oh, the audio is great! I love the narrator for this series. I went and bought the books but I never read them, I always check out the audio from the library
Ohhh good to know. I just sampled the first few minutes and I think I’ll go for it. I’m having a hard time sitting still these days so audio is good for me, but I can be picky about narrators.

Any little thing! If you like audiobooks at all, both of these books have great narrators.

I am checking the first one out! I could use a laugh right now. Library only has the audio. Is it worth it, or should I hold out for the print?
I remember the Heather Wells mysteries. I don’t remember if I read them, but I loved Meg Cabot back in the day.

I enjoyed the Heather Wells books too – I’ve re-read them a few times over the years. Meg Cabot is pretty reliable for being an entertaining read.

Woah Meg Cabot was my favorite author in my 20’s. I wish i could still read as much as I did back then. Too much excuses now 😬

Thanks for the recs. My small library doesn’t have the audiobook for Girl, 15 but it does have a couple of the Heather Well series. I’m excited!
