Finally it took 3 years for my BTS craze to get back to normal (or less than it).
I loved Dynamite but Butter made me realise BTS are now a bigger band and their fandom includes variety of listeners so they have to consider their preferences as well.
But it made me sad.. i listened Butter hardly thrice and watched MV just 2 times which is so abnormal when songs till dynamite are on my repeat playlist.
So i am back to just kdrama fan with this tiny hope BTS will give me some more songs to add to my playlist to learn more abt life, its struggles and to motivate me to keep Fighting.
Till then.. Jimin 💜

While I think that Butter is more enjoyable than Dynamite, I understand what you mean. I wish they would write an English song that was like Spring Day or Mikrokosmos. I love these songs.

thanks for understanding. i was so scared that people would come all bashing me for not liking butter.
and yes Mikrokosms is such a beautiful heart warming song… i want something in English too…

      Yep. Yep yep.

I understand why Bighit would make DYNAMITE, but I can’t figure out the logic for choosing BUTTER. Dynamite, to me, is their gateway to a more mainstream audience. Radio friendly. So, generic pop is a good option.

BUTTER, though, is just odd choice. No story there at all. Just concoction of words. So, why choose that song. I was looking for meaning in their song.

You know what English song I like, their juniors’, TXT. They have anew song MAGIC. Repetitive and short. But I like it. 🙂

@drawde2000 I just watched the music video for Magic. It gives me old school late 90s Backstreet and INSYNC vibes. Very catchy.

I think the last album I liked of theirs was the one with “Blood, Sweat, and Tears” as the headline song (is the album called “Wings”? I don’t remember anymore because I barely listen to BTS now). While some of their songs since then have piqued my interest — I liked the teaser for “Idol”, although the song itself was disappointing, and I think “Black Swan” was okay — my opinion is that, as a whole, they sacrificed their distinctiveness for mainstream popularity. As a result, their music started sounded more generic, their lyrics stopped being as meaningful, and their MVs stopped having as much metaphor, symbolism, etc.
