Yielding seems such a word choice for something good. It’s good that you’re showing yourself grace and giving yourself time to heal. This is a lesson that I’m constantly learning. Right now I’ve not been to work in several days. I have a freaking broken bone in my back! Like…tf? But every part of me wants to run back.
Yield is the correct word not because I feel this compulsory need to work, but because I had to admit. I was not doing well, that I can’t manage on my own. It’s hard to admit that you need to stop because it’s something more than just “a little bit”.
I understand the feeling. Somehow, we are wired to think that we have to always be ready to work – like robots. We feel guilty and ashamed when we have to admit that we need some time off to care for our health.
To think that is our default mode sounds funny when typed. We are humans, and our health should be our priority.

I yielded.
I took a sick leave.
Just one week for now.
Showing some compassion and love for myself.
Time to heal.
Love,
February

I didn’t mean it negatively. It feels like there should be a more gentle word for deciding to take care of yourself.

Convalescence from the stress of life is often necessary…appear and disappear as needed. Let the healing begin!

Glad you decided to prioritize yourself. It is important to acknowledge that we need to rest and heal and just pause to take a breath.
Stay blessed. ❤
