I am done posting here….like done. You can’t even enjoy spazzing about a show without somebody raining on your parade…my mood is completely ruined…should not have restarted posting here, my bad!

There used to some point when this site was a place where you could just come and enjoy watching drama, have fun. Now, its mostly people being nasty to people trying to enjoy things in peace. You have your own fanwall for it, why are you going elsewhere to spread misery? Like, why?

🫂 I’m sorry you’ve had to go through something like this, I can totally empathize, as it’s also happened to me before. Everyone is different, but personally, I find that keeping my circle on here small and letting myself be okay with not reading everything and not responding to everything helps a lot, as I don’t think everything always needs a response or a reaction or even my attention. Whatever you do moving forward, I hope that you know that there are still some really kind and respectful people who are a part of this community, even though– from my own experience– this circle of nice people on here is indeed smaller ♥️

^^ Perfect. Thank you for explaining so beautifully. We need to focus on ourselves and what gives us pleasure and happiness. Like minded people will automatically be attracted to us.
Can’t put it better – indeed everything most definitely does not need “a response or a reaction or even my attention“. 😘 ❤
Please do continue to engage with us and post about what you enjoy.

I agree, even though some of the bad stuff is unavoidable sometimes, we need to focus on the good, on the positive, on the healthy side of things, lest control over us and over our reactions is what the people posting all the negativity is what they REALLY want from us and aren’t actually looking to what we have to say about the OG post (Fan Wall or otherwise). We can’t control other people, but what we CAN control is ourselves— our own reactions, our own responses (or lack thereof), and how much control we want to give the Negative Nancy in the room, in which, I say that the Negative Nancy should’t get ANY control or attention ♥️

Sigh. This site is a good site, though I admit that sometimes, I also dislike comments raining on my parade. That’s why I like to watch the show I like in peace before start posting things about it after I finish watching all the eps.

But it’s also their right to express their feelings re the show. As much as I have that right, they have it, too. That’s the nature of the discussion forum. I think if you don’t want anyone raining on your parade, you may have to stay away from the discussion forum as there is bound to have comments that do just that.

I, though can empathize with you, still think this is a relatively friendly site.

P.S. I am not sure which show you’re talking about..

Well yes, you’d be right if @/gem28 was talking about a drama recap, or the what are you watching discussion…but when someone comes to your fan wall posts with negative things to say about something you’re enjoying it’s a bit too much, no? 🙁

I agree that comments are easier to overlook and scroll past in the DB posts but it is much harder to get past when it’s on our own FanWalls. I’ve had things as bad as personal, discriminatory, and racist vitriol being thrown at me in the comments/replies of my own FanWall posts 😞

And you have come out braver and stronger and empathic enough to show concern and support to others. The effort you make to ensure no one feels unheard or pulled down is commendable. Hwaiting!!

Oh gosh, discrimination of any kind is outrageous and unacceptable, I am so sorry to hear that you went through that on this site. If we delete a post does it also delete the comments that are under it? If not were you able to get it removed by the staff? It would be horrible to come on to your own fan wall knowing it has been contaminated in that way.

@reply1988 I reported it to the staff at the time (it was during the peak of Covid, and the vitriol being spat at me was the racist kind based off of the situation at the time, i.e the Pandemic), but didn’t get any response nor a fix to the issue. In hindsight, I should have made things more public in actually tagging the DB staff in the comments of the post it make sure it got dealt with. Hindsight is always 20/20. The person who did it did not have a verified account at the time but has since become verified and I can see them regularly posting, I just don’t interact with them. It’s in the past now, and I have not bothered to go back to see if that post of mine— along with the vitriolic comments— is still there… It’s too far back to look and also not worth it nor is it worth my time. I’m good ♥️

@reply1988 But to answer your question:
I do believe that the comments under a post also disappear if the original post is deleted

🤗 Good to know you just kept posting and keep blanking the unnecessary noise.

@reply1988 DB is too fast paced and has too many things going up and being posted all at once. Even without that one bad experience, I think at some point, I would have hit a wall, regardless, and would have to make up a system for myself to pick and choose and see which things to keep up with and which things (and people) to tune out in order for me to be able to keep being here but also not be so overwhelmed and overstimulated by everything 😅 The incident with that person just fast-tracked everything

Like life perhaps DB also comes in all flavors – let’s just concentrate on what we like. I truly believe we should continue to focus on what we enjoy and what gives us pleasure. Easier said than done. 😅 After all, Art is subjective and if someone does not enjoy the same things that’s fine too. We will always find like-minded people who want to talk and discuss with us.

Hugs.. I had not been posting much lately too because I feel the same. In general, there are more nasty comments now about dresses, weights, certain actors and actresses, and less about kdrama.

Happened to me before…it’s been like 3 years and I still remember that one comment someone left complaining about something I enjoyed 🤦‍♀️😅

I cannot confidently say I was never guilty of this too, but regardless, it still sucks!!

Hope it won’t affect your enjoyment of things you like too much! 😔
    *hugs* 🫂

@Reply1988 @vienibenmio Let’s all just hangout and enjoy chatting about our drama.

Don’t worry Gem, we are not letting you go anywhere. 🫂

I am sorry that you went through this experience.

I have appreciated having your fan wall as a place to chat about the dramas that had a small fan club and will miss you providing this spot. If you come back and we are watching the same show I will be happy to be tagged in to join you again. My interactions were limited recently due to glitches on the site.
