we take on religion & spirituality in the next Korean Culture Club, so plz give me some references to dramas with: 1. god(s), also ancient 2. lord of underworld 3. priests 4. shamans 5. buddhist monks
The Moon Embracing The Sun comes to mind right away for shaman. Behind Your Touch This also has a fair amount of shamanism peppered throughout it. Bride of Haebak – warning, a very bad drama, deals with God and stones and some such nonsense, but you might find it helpful. Attorney Woo Has a great episode on Buddhist monks.
Mystic Pop bar: It’s an interesting take on someone interacting with souls. Has some nice folksy stuff.
Save Me: A hard watch on cult of some Evangelicals. I ffed this one a lot but I remember a lot of church scenes.
There’s a brief but great appearance of a monk in episode 1 of Faith. I recommend that episode anyway for anyone who hasn’t seen it, even if they don’t plan to watch the rest of the series.
Cafe Minamdang – Seo In-guk pretends to be a shaman but all his predictions are based on his training as a profiler and good old fashioned snooping.
Don’t think Fiery Priest or Vincenzo can be considered.

Maybe The Guest?
I only watched the beginning of the first episode but it seems quite related to the theme you are treating.

The Cursed and Revenant has shamanism.
Arang and the Magistrate – has gods

Lovers of The Red Sky has gods featured heavily in it, and Tail of The Nine Tailed 1 & 2 has lot of gods/spirits/folklore references!
Goblin even maybe?? It’s not heavy on the gods thing but Samshin is a significant player in the plot.
