But yes, I think, if I didn’t know that I was PPL’ed all the time in K-drama, I maybe would only see what the rings say about their relationship, because yes, every shot of those rings say something meaningful, other than “Buy Bulgari Wedding Rings”.
I prefer wedding rings that are just a gold band, but apart from that, these rings are pretty nice, and look good on both of them. 💍

exactly – those lovingly shot close-ups of Hae-in and Hyun-woo’s rings aren’t promoting the rings, they’re about the relationship.
Also on a design level the Bulgari jewellery including the rings, is a great choice – distinctive but they look like legit rings that people would choose for themselves irl and not insanely branded or overly ubiquitous or, as you put it, a horror ring 🤣
truthfully I don’t even mind the on-the-nose moments, like Mistress Snake putting on a Serpenti necklace to do her version of villainous cackling! I mean, it was fitting.
I am pretty sure the close-ups do both things. They are very well written into the story. So it’s the best PPL Bulgari could wish for.
I am glad they don’t zoom in on them or work to let the camera focus so the ring stands out, like they did on those bracelets a lot towards the end of Destiny With You.
Like, even in a dark room where they were … you know, … that bracelet was catching the light and was the most visible thing. 🤣
@cecilieDK – it helps that wedding rings have a near-universal cultural and emotional significance across cultures, even when they are branded it’s not about the object, it’s about what it signifies.
And yes, you’re right that it does help that the camera treatment doesn’t give the rings the obvious PPL focus, which keeps attention on what they mean and not what they are – I’ve not seen Destined with You but that scenario sounds unintentionally funny 🤣
