          He broke up, she didn’t and went to his father, using them. He was being nice with her for the time they spent together. He made a deal to not tell right away for her pride. If he didn’t want to date Hong-Jo openly just after it’s because people would have talked about Hong-Jo behind her back and hurt her.

          But a lot of the story was about the fact he was in the deny because of the love potion.

    It was a clever amplifying effect but something with Sol’s reaction – undoubtedly more will be revealed – undercut the emotional effect of it for me. The first four eps have upped the ante so I wanted that realisation to land more quietly and contemplatively. I found ep 5 a mixed bag – not enough charming Taesung but unwelcome sinister cabbie, annoying brother, etc.

      I don’t think Sol likes Sung Jae yet.
      I think she had a few heart fluttering moments, but I think she still has this “idol”/”savior” image of him, more than anything else. She’s really focused on her mission, and knows that she will go back to 2023 soon, so I think that’s why she reacted that way.

      I’m okay with that, because she hasn’t really show anything about liking him “that way”, and the confession was more about Sung Jae thinking of himself. I’m happy for him… even if he gets rejected, hahaha.

      Oh, the brother and her friend are really… something. I would prefer more scenes of Sung Jae’s bestie and the band than those two.

        I agree. I guess it has to be this way from their narrative perspective as the trajectory has to begin, take root, develop further and result in her own growth and reckoning with life, pain, loss and love.
        It is unfortunate how boring the brother’s character is. And, sadly, the acting is so underwhelming. The bestie’s character could have been a contender but is underwritten so far.

          I feel like the bestie character would’ve been better if her focus was on being Sol’s bestie. The same way we see Sung Jae’s friend be there for him, it would’ve been nice to see more interactions between the girl friends.

          We know she has been there for Sol in the good times and the bad times. She seemed to help her a lot in the future (present?), so it would be nice to see them hanging out more in the past.

          It would’ve been nice to see all of them (the leads, besties, and Tae Seong) become friends and have a twinkling youth. But they gave her a random love line with the bro, and he’s just so… unnecessary for the story. He feels random than the serial killer, tbh. 😂🤣

            You said it. If the bestie cannot be fully fleshed out, at least they should be spending much more time hanging out as besties do. That has been a odd omission.

            @seeker exactly. We know why the killer is here. While the brother… Most of the time I forget he exists.

            Except for the show telling us that he’s Sol’s oppa, he seems to have -100 relevance in her life. And zero emotional connection with her.

            One strange scene in the show was the fire incident. That guy SAW his dongsaeng getting into a house on fire and he just left her there. He didn’t tell her to get out and he didn’t come back to see if she was okay, or help extinguish the fire, after helping the friend.

            And, in general, it’s just weird that all the scenes of HER oppa are of him hanging out with HER best friend. All he has done in the show is scam a high schooler into paying for his teeth and clothes.

            Also putting heteronormativity to one side, what an interesting and charming couple Taesung and Sunjae would make. After the tweensie orange jacket tension, Taesung’s comment made me think about that alternate universe possibility.

          She only has one more chance? I feel like I only pay attention to the cute scenes. 😂🤣

          All I know is that she has to come back to 2023 before the accident, and go back to 2009 after the radio incident, otherwise the timeline is going to be erased.

            I remember that she mentioned that she stayed for months, then while she was in 2023 OG Sol owned her body for ten days. But she still had time before the accident. At least a month.

            I think I’ll go back to that scene and see what’s going on. Maybe I got everything wrong, hahaha.

            Yep. The first time it was two months.
            She came back on September. But I don’t know how much time it has been since then. I don’t remember the date of ger accident, and I couldn’t find the scene where she mentions it.

            T, I’ve not been able to find the Taiwanese original so only saw the Korean version. It was justified because the main lovers travelled across time to save each other and be reunited but the young girl was collateral victim in a significant portion of the story. Just horrible.

            She already had problems with her identity and self worth. And the couple only made it worse.

            And having no control over your body is like one of the scariest things that can happen to someone. I can’t imagine what it would be to not only not having control, but to literally watch someone else taking over and just literally stealing your life. All you can do is watch.

            Yes, in the TW show, the “original”/earlier timeline girl’s consciousness was trapped in a scary nowhereland while the “new girl” FL unwittingly took over her body. That part is the same in both shows. It’s clear in both that it’s not something the “new”/later timeline FL did intentionally and that it took a while for her to become aware that she was usurping a body that still had its original identity floating in this weird state of helplessness. As @DncingEmma says, the stuff of nightmares.

          There is no time limit, she says she does not know how long she will stay. First time she stayed for two months.
