Ham Eun-jung won the 1995 Little Miss Korea pageant when she was seven years old. That same year, she made her acting debut in the KBS1 youth drama A New Generation of Adults. In July 2009, she debuted as a member of the South Korean girl group T-ara with the single Lie. In December 2009, they released their debut studio album called Absolute First Album, which peaked at number 2 on the Gaon Album Chart. In 2012, the group was hit with internal discord issues, resulting in a dip in their popularity. They began focusing their promotional activities in China and went on to become one of the most popular K-Pop girl groups in the said country. In 2015, Ham Eun-jung released her debut solo mini album I’m Good under the stage name Elsie.


Ham Eun-jung landed her first major acting role since joining T-ara in the 2010 SBS series Coffee House, which won her Best New Actress at the SBS Drama Awards. In 2011, she received the Best Newcomer trophy at the MBC Entertainment Awards for her appearance in We Got Married, where she was paired with actor Lee Jang-woo. That same year, she was nominated for Most Popular Actress for TV at the 47th Baeksang Arts Awards for her work in the hit KBS2 drama Dream High. In 2017, she led the MBC family drama Sisters-in-Law, in which she earned nominations for Best New Actress and an Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards.


Ham Eun-jung is an only child. Her mother was a former piano teacher who left her job to become her manager. She holds a third-degree black belt in taekwondo.
