Heo Jung-eun began her acting career in 2011 with appearances in the movie Once in a Blue Moon and the SBS series I Like You. She went on to play the young counterparts of the main female characters in several television dramas, such as tvN’s Heart to Heart and MBC’s Hwajeong, which both aired in 2015. In 2016, she landed her first leading role playing the title character in the KBS2 drama Oh My Geum-bi. Her performance in the series as well as in the legal drama Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho and the hit sageuk series Moonlight Drawn by Clouds won her Best Young Actress at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards. In 2018, she was nominated for another Best Young Actress trophy at the KBS Drama Awards for her work in The Ghost Detective.
Heo Jung-eun is a self-confessed big fan of actor Song Joong-ki. During the 2016 KBS Drama Awards, she adorably chose Song Joong-ki over Park Bo-gum when asked to pick between the two on the spot, making the audience laugh.
