Lee Min-ho made his official acting debut in the 2003 EBS school-centered series Secret Campus. His career skyrocketed in 2009 when he played the iconic role of F4 leader Gu Jun-pyo in the hit KBS2 series Boys Before Flowers, which also won him Best New Actor at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards. He cemented his Hallyu star status by starring in high-profile follow-up dramas such as MBC’s Personal Taste in 2010 and SBS’s City Hunter and Faith in 2011 and 2012. In 2013, he acted alongside Park Shin-hye in the high-rating SBS drama Heirs, which earned him a Top Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards. In 2015, he was named Best New Actor at the 52nd Grand Bell Awards for his performance in the action film Gangnam Blues. In 2016, he was paired with Jeon Ji-hyun in the SBS fantasy romantic comedy Legend of the Blue Sea, which gave him another Top Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards. In 2020, he collected one more Top Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards for The King: Eternal Monarch, in which he starred with Kim Go-eun.


Aside from acting, Lee Min-ho also ventured into singing and has released several albums and singles including the 2013 and 2014 extended plays My Everything and Song for You.


Lee Min-ho got involved in a serious car crash in 2006 along with his fellow actor Jung Il-woo and their two other friends. He enlisted for his mandatory military service in May 2017 and was discharged in April 2019. His older sister named Lee Yoon-jung co-owns MYM Entertainment, which is the talent agency that currently manages his career. He previously dated his City Hunter leading lady Park Min-young and singer-actress Suzy.
