@hacja if we're not talking about MLs with "drama traumas" centered around intimacy of any kind, then such behavior usually is presented as just having good manners. As in restraining yourself from those urges and thus being extra considerate to FL who OF COURSE needs all time and mental preparation in the world before she can let her boyfriend as much as hold her hand. Ofc, sometimes it gets further than that, reaching a truly ridiculous point when grown man (teens/inexperienced barely adults shrieking in embarrassed horror over being caught undressed by their crush do not phase me much) acts like a Victorian maiden surrounded by drunk sailors. Even this can be somewhat funny in the hands of a good actor tho - when not overdone.

In conclusion, there is a difference - while MLs also can be jumpy regarding skinship, they are rarely shown 100% disinterested/repulsed by prospect. At worst they are presented shy about it OR scared they'll scare FL if they try to act on their desire without proper rituals OR they are simply ashamed of even having dirty thoughts altogether. Among those 3 reasons, only shyness is usually presented in FL's behavior, but not the fear of going too fast/strong nor the shame of harboring indecent urges.

What FLs DO have more often than not is raging prudishness over any such matters (man you like dares to want you back PHYSICALLY? that pervert, how dare he!) and/or complete lack of working hormones. I recall catching my jaw near the floor when in DR SLUMP leads got stuck in hotel room together at night and it was FL getting all hot and bothered over the fact while ML remained (un)happily clueless, having too many things on his mind atm to be horny... That's how we girls can multitask in a way boys could never

I think that's what annoys me the most - I can deal with repressed desire as long as you give me a valid reason for OTP in love to... uhm... be abstinent, but at least said desire should exist from BOTH sides! And be somewhat acknowledged! Everything else is secondary. Yep, the bar low.

We got emotional scenes in episode 17 though. Pil Seung was clearly devastated there.

I think in the first week or two, dancingEm said she expected the show to focus on a healing journey for Sol. And I hoped the was case.

Like you said, she started "taking direct action for her idol, and in the process taking control of her own life."
So I was expecting for Sol to be able to learn something about herself in this journey to the past.
And I thought she was going to learn to feel okay and be in peace with her present.

But now I don't even know what's the point of the show.

In fact all of my least favorite "comic" scenes in rom-coms are of this variety, designed to show that the ML is not really at all driven by sexual desire. The man leaning forward, apparently to kiss, which the woman is quite willing to do, she puckers, and then he says "you have a leaf on your shoulder" or something and brushes it away; the man shrieking when he is caught shirtless by the FL; the man really uncomfortable because circumstances force him to share a room with the FL, etc. etc. There are multiple examples of this in almost every kdrama romance.

Fanvids are so good sometimes. They are a nice way to remember a show, like a compilation of the best moments.

It was thanks to a fanvideo on YouTube that I decided to watch Flower Boy Next Door in spring 2022 (forever grateful) or Shopping King.
And when I finished Live up to your name I couldn't move on, so I watched some fanvids which made me shed tears again.
