I’ll take Korean zombies over microbes any day of the week… oh, wait. Alrighty, then. I’ll take Gang Dong-won carrying on where Gong Yoo left off. As long as there are zombies rampaging around Korea, there will be handsome oppas to battle them, and that’s good enough for me. 😉
I’m interested to see how the story unfolds after TRAIN TO BUSAN ended with that tunnel interlude that took me apart at the seams. I never got around to watching SEOUL STATION, so am not sure if I missed out on how the pestilence actually got started. Recombinant DNA run amok? Genetic mutations caused by environmental pollution? (Sounds like business as usual here in the state sardonically known in the 1970s as “cancer alley.” Not to mention endemic Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses with nasty neurological consequences. Those bacteria are killers. *sigh* )
I’m a wimp when it comes to horror movies after being traumatized by Boris Karloff, et al. when I was a kid, so I turn them into spoofs in my mind. Sic the TOXIC AVENGER from Tromaville, New Jersey on the zombies. If all else fails, summon BUCKAROO BANZAI back from the 8th Dimension. Call in the KILLER TOMATOES for a counterattack and then double-cross them by broadcasting “Pubetry Love.” As a last resort, there’s the fatal resonant frequency of “Indian Love Call” that splatted the invaders in MARS ATTACKS. I bet it would work on zombies. Problem solved. 😉
PS: Hwaiting, Lee Chang! KINGDOM 3 can’t come soon enough.
HA I was traumatized as a child by the monkeys in the The Wizard of Oz, so probably needless to say I’ve not seen ANY of the shows you just mentioned 😲
@bbstl,
Those flying monkeys creeped me out, too. I recall reading that Margaret Hamilton, who portrayed the Wicked Witch of the West, didn’t let her own child watch the movie until he was older. She did a great job with that role.
I may have seen part of THE TOXIC AVENGER. The others are all spoofs of horror movies, which suited my warped sense of humor just fine. 😉
On YT, there are renditions transposed into keys other than D and C (as in George Winston’s variations). E minor and B-flat and F-something sound so different from the original. A couple of them sound like dirges. G is very nice.
Wow, what a lovely way to start my day, thank you 😀
I always thought of going down the aisle to the Handel Music for the Royal Fireworks, but that never happened! 😂
@bbstl,
Glad you enjoyed it, although it might have zonked you out. Daniel Kobialka released a bunch of New Age albums for relaxation. The beginning of “Kanon” sounds like a lullaby played by a music box. Don’t listen to it while driving. 😉
Thank you, that brought back great memories! I always thought it would be a crackup to come down the aisle to that Overture and then use the Bouree as the recessional. So listening to it, I just had a good laugh 🤣
@marina,
I’m glad the article caught my eye. Talk about going to extremes to get a little privacy. Not that I’m suggesting that coronavirus was unleashed by frustrated pandas. 😉
If this isn’t incontrovertible proof that pandas are classy, dignified, private creatures, unlike so many couthless two-legged exhibitionists, I’ll eat my gat.

I haven’t been posting much for a while because of too many new shows. 4 on Mon-Tues, 2-3 on Wed-Thurs, 2 on weekend. Yikes. I’m about half-way through CRUEL PALACE. Need to get back to it after a needed respite from the sad history. A great production. Thanks for the tip. 😉
@18:45, as Det. Hyung-jo attempts to give Ga-hyun his earphones, oldie “Reality” by Richard Sanderson plays in a spoof of the 2011 movie SUNNY. It’s a great coming-of-age flick with terrific music, set in the 80s and 25 years later when the characters reconnect in mid-life.
In the clip, middle-aged Na-mi anonymously delivers a package to the proprietor of a music room, where she sees his son, who is the spitting image of him at 17. It triggers a flashback of her teen self going to give her unrequited crush, disc jockey Joon-ho, her pencil portrait of him, only to see him putting his Walkman headphones on another member of the Sunny gang, lighting her cigarette — and smooching her. After adult Na-mi leaves before Joon-ho can open the package, she encounters her broken-hearted younger self and comforts her.
