Having hesitations in watching this week’s JBL since the preview at the end of last week’s episode got my poor heart wrenched. I just want them to heal already and be happy again :'(
Never really thought much about frameless glasses, but Yeon Woo-jin is looking dayuum fine in them. He wears them so often though, that I tend to forget those lovely mismatched eyes behind ❤️
Mismatched eyes? I googled it nad the definition is “differently colored eyes”, his eyes looks like the same color. Or is there any other definition of mismatched eyes other than that??
Almost 10 million people in Seoul, but by the law of dramaverse, you will always get to meet your OTL, no matter how random the encounter…and that makes me a happy beanie today!
I know JBL is only halfway through, but how can I not be excited about the next drama featuring these three fine lads running a guesthouse in Seoul! Also, Go Won-hee from Strongest Deliveryman 😀
Me neither, but I took a peek at the preview for the next JBL episode and tbh, I don’t know if my poor heart can take it. Please don’t let them stay misunderstood for too long. Sighs~ Well, there’s the Waikiki bros! 😀
I remember there was some sort of contest for best GIFs on DB before. I know there are plenty of blogs and websites dedicated to Korean drama GIFs but we get the most recent ones from Beanies. Haha.
I make 99% of gifs I post, but I use the fan wall posts to bulk up my collection. I copy the image links and bookmark the really great ones. I have folders organized by show, emotion expressed, and/or oppa.
Also, I\’m rather salty that they\’re already sending Kangsoo couple down the road of hardships, after scattering only some measly crumbs of happy moments as a couple. Just Because, what, Life? *sulks*
Irony at its best when you realise that the divided profit you make after 6 days of running a restaurant w/ no prior skills aka working your ass off, isn’t enough to buy the signature dish itself 😂😂
IKR! I’m sad that there’s no more Kang’s kitchen, but I’ll gladly take any kind of variety show with this cast. They are so awesome together, even with their bickering and all.
Finally understood why Just Between Lovers is topping the favourite list. My top dramas in 2017 (that I actually finished) — Seven Day Queen, Because This Life Is Our First & Rescue Me. ★Happy 2018~!★
Watching this drama short that was just aired yesterday. After mourning for Jonghyun, the story of a man who survived his attempt and tries to save another’s life, feels strangely comforting to me.
Using English words/phrases is trendy & cool, I get it. But if they\’re thrown into conversations w/ no connection to its original/current context (e.g. coming out—LGBT), I dunno…🤔 Or is it just me?
K-dramas, variety shows, etc. More specifically, the usage of certain terms in a way that it doesn’t represent the gravity of the issue behind those words. E.g. “I’ve already had a ‘coming out’ as a _______ (insert everything else but LGBT)”. So if people start to use it lightly in that way, I thought it’s unfair for others who are still struggling with coming out as who they really are. But it’s just my two cents, I tend to overthink things 😀
Huh. I think I noticed the use of ‘coming out’ once or twice in the context you mentioned. Unfortunately, K-Dramas have a lot of problems with LGBTQI issues. Many bromances for example tend to have this ‘no homo’ thing attached like they can’t be adults about their feelings. It’s quite frustrating.
It’s good thing that you found those instances. My example came from Hwayugi, in which I felt a little iffy when Sohn Oh-gong tells Jin Sun-mi that he already had his ‘coming out’ that he’s not the fairy she thought he was. I was like, “Dude, that’s not how you use the term.” (but ofc, it’s not LSG’s fault, lol) and made me think if this would mislead the Korean viewers on what ‘coming out’ really implies.
Yeah I do agree on how they have double standards on certain issues. Though I can see that it’s slightly improving, just ever so slightly and slowly.
Gahh~ Should\’ve known. Not good w/ horror flicks, hence I couldn\’t get past Master’s Sun EP1 (or 2?) to appreciate the show like others did. Have to watch HYG through my fingers from time to time now.
So happy to see them back on screen in another project together! Laughed so much at how they divide their tasks in the first 10 minutes of the show—the captions are as hilarious as always.
Ah, the wordplay 강호동까스 Kang Ho-don(g)kkaseu for the ginormous tonkatsu. And I shall forever be amused by the aptly named 송가락 that refers to Song Min-ho.
Can I just take a moment to say how confused I am yet pleasantly surprised to see a K-drama character look like this? I wonder if they purposely went for the pretty boy/androgyny look, but this I dig.
The only other character I can think of is Coffee Prince’s Go Eun-chan, but it was in line with the story. Okay, need to continue watching Jugglers to find out more about Jung Hye-in’s character.
And it has ended~! :’ ) (But Ji-ho and Sae-hee’s “us” life still continues in the alternate dramaverse, I hope.) Had to draw something to conclude my watching, so here’s House Snail and Uri the Cat <3
Upcoming shows I hope to watch: Two Cops, Hwayugi, Bad Guys: City of Evil, I’m Not A Robot—this android/cyborg theme going on in K-dramaland now, hmm. Still, something to look forward to, yay!
Smart Prison Living — Wow, I\’m impressed with how well the hip-hop/R&B beats fit the scenes. Love the way they handle flashbacks, PLUS Jae-hyuk and Jun-ho\’s open-but-not-so-open bromance!

not to be overly cynical, but many phrases are stolen from LGBTQ/minority communities and bastardized/appropriated by mainstream culture.
Definitely a problem in K-dramas, but it doesn’t only happen in Korea, ya know?
