Kinda sorta off topic:
With all the discussion about poems due to the Forgotten Poet Society on You Who Forgot Poetry, I started looking for other poems, in different languages that I understand. As much as I love the poetry presented in these episodes, I believe there is always, always, always something lost in translation. The beauty of a poem is only completely felt when one has a grasp of the language and its vocabulary. But this is way off topic. Not what I had intended for this post. So going back to looking for other poems – it got me looking for song lyrics. They can sort of count as poetry, right? There used to be a time when Hindi songs would speak to my soul. I am one of those people that says “old Hindi songs” and means songs produced from 1940 – 1980s. My generation considers me “old fashioned” when it comes to music. It has been a very long time since I’ve actually liked (forget loved, that’s a farfetched dream now) lyrics of any of the songs. I will admit, I’ve stopped seeking out new songs, so partially this is my fault for not coming across anything noteworthy. But then yesterday, I was going through some songs and came across this. It’s from a recent (recent for me anyways) movie Secret Superstar. This song made me pause and listen to words. It’s nothing too deep or profound – it’s not supposed to be, because it’s a song that’s supposed to be written by a teenager. Yet, I find it beautiful. The singer puts soul into this song and makes it memorable. I will be seeing out the singer, Meghna Mishra’s songs in the future. She is a gem. *runs back to the ever growing pile of work*

you are sharing my feels… i too am old fashioned for my aged people cause i still love old hindi songs (rafi, mukesh, lata, gulzar, pradeep etc.) and these days songs just feel like crap (sorry for wrong word.. but thats what i feel for them).
ill watch the song you posted and let you know my thoughts m

Please do let me know! I agree – nothing beats the classics. I need to bust out my oldies collection now.

@feenah9895 I’m glad you enjoyed it! Yeah Bollywood holds very little interest for me now.

I am really really glad @minminfan brought up the topic on resources to learn Korean. I am one of those people that likes to know a little bit about anything and everything. At one point, in my quest for knowledge, I stumbled upon Coursera.org. People, this website is GOLD. It has free classes on almost any subject you can imagine, from universities around the WORLD. You can audit ANYCLASS and take it for free. If you want certification, you will have to pay. I think education should be mad as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. Yeah I’m one of them crazy people. Sue me. GOING ON. This being said, there are plethora of websites with FREE educational contents on almost ANY subject out there. Now that doesn’t mean you can be a doctor just by taking these classes. This is for basic or targeted knowledge. I have a whole list of websites, so if you’re looking for something specific and can’t find it on Coursera, let me know.
Now for learning Korean, here’s how I started and might work for you.

Coursera has two classes from Yonsei University. Start with:
First Step Korean: https://www.coursera.org/learn/learn-korean/home/welcome
Then go onto: Learn to Speak Korean: https://www.coursera.org/learn/learn-speak-korean1/home/welcome

Other Resources:
https://www.howtostudykorean.com/unit0/unit0lesson1/
TalktomeinKorean website that has really good lessons as well.

There are plenty of other websites that go into further study of the language once you know the basics, but these are some of the places I go to learn basics.
Questions are always welcomed and I will be happy to help anyone finding other resources. Just ask 

Thank you for sharing! I use a lot of these, but I completely forgot that I should check Coursera! I used to check it regularly for different courses I was interested in, because it really is such a fantastic site.

I\’ve been so busy with work that I haven\’t had the chance to catch up to DB in the past few days. I\’m looking forward to \”me time\” tomorrow to do that. I\’m still hung up on Father is Strange.

Finished all the episodes of Father is Strange. Now I want to go back and rewatch the whole series. This has been one of the best dramas I\’ve seen. <3

Wasn’t it lovely? When I finished, I went on a bit of an Lee Yuri bender and watched all of her old dailies. It was fun, but none of them held a candle to Father Is Strange.

It was fantastic. I have a hole in my life now and no other seems interesting enough to fill it.

I am so attached to FIS that I’m torturing myself and only watching 15 minutes of an episode at a time to make it last for as long as possible. I also went back and read all of the “What We’re Watching” bits on FIS by the DB Staff and nod my head along in an “I – KNOW –RIGHT?!?” way to all the comments on the episodes. I’m desperate here.

SO. Remember when I said it would be low and slow watching for FIS? Yeah about that. I went from Ep 7 to Ep 21 in two days. HELP. Also, Byun Hey Young is my soulmate (SHHH don\’t tell Mr. Spicykimchi)

Yes, FIS will do that you.. lol. I binged it too and would say one more ep and before I knew it I’d finished half.

It’s such a gem. I keep wondering why it was riveting when plot-wise nothing really big happens. But I realized its because the characters are so rich and I was invested in all their lives so I never got bored ^^

I\’m only 7 episodes in and I\’m already SO invested! How am I going to get through 40+ episodes?!?!?

I finished about 35 dramas last year (I have no life, ok?). I have followed Dramabeans religiously over the course of my drama binge and strangely enough FIS is what prompted me to post here.
