Beanie level: Noble idiot

So I joined the Start-up bandwagon. I love it and I’m already in HJP’s corner. The heartache is coming, I know it but who can resist those dimples? That being said, I know she has some issues with herself, but I really can’t stand In-Jae just going below the belt and not even being apologetic. I don’t think she thinks what she’s doing is wrong. Someone needs to put her in her place. I feel like it may be Ji-Pyeong down the road giving giving it to her but she needs a reality check.

Can I just say that when you abbreviated Han Jipyeong’s name I read it as Harry James Potter? 😂😂😂

dimples is an experienced chabol brat tamer. why am I kind of adding the Deliveryman as a sort of work eperience for Ji Pyeong it is so funny. Like if dimples has it in the CV then JP also.
but I mean how. what could even he do
no I think people cant expect someone else to solve their issues we eat our own soup. The sisters have to state what it is they truly desire ( perhaps who we need here is Lucifer..) and then… put in some goddamn effort. they benefit more from working together. it is inevitable that stronger companies in the same field swallow the underdogs and blend so even if you are former enemy you might end up working for the same goal.

look at me mixing other tv shows into kdrama world but I mean the survey asked if we would, too.

    1
    2

actually that sounds wrong no I dont mean underdogs always get swallowed or they should. oops. they might becme no 1.

*sigh* “We eat our own soup* couldn’t have said it any better. I just don’t know if SDM has it in her to confront her unni and I don’t think WIJ has it in her to admit her regrets and in turn her wrongdoings to hide those regrets from herself

First i’ve heard of this expression – usually it’s we make our own bed.. But i like it, i’d rather eat soup really.

I just direct translated what we say in Estonia – Söö nüüd ise seda suppi, mille sa kokku keetsid! – You made this soup, you eat it.

Is the annoying second lead in DDSSLLS the mean doctor with the mole in RDTK 2? Am I confusing two different actors?

1
5

Yeah, the annoying second lead is the surgeon who gets swooped in RDTK 2, the guy with that weird trauma from the past related to the bus accident.

    2

Whoa! It was him! I only remember him from IOTNBO. HAHA

    2

Yes, he is Kim Joo Hun! He was also in It’s Okay to Not be Okay and I loved him there so much!

    2
    0

Yes he is. He also stars opposite Kim Go Eun on the movie Untact, released by Samsung yesterday 😁

He is annoying right?! I thought I was the only who felt that way. Can we just let Jun have more lines n time with RaRa than him..

TTNT ep 3 was a bit…boring? Though the end credit music gives me Charmed vibes.

Suppose a person were to start a drama and had to pick between Graceful Family and Into the Ring, which one would be the first pick?

Never watched Graceful Family, but Into the Ring is fun and delightful!

Thank you! I think the official decision after looking at all the input is: Into the Ring followed by Graceful Family

      0

Into the Ring, Into the Ring, Into the Ring

But Graceful Family is good too if you want some makjang fun.

    6
    1

INTO THE RING IT IS! But it will be followed by Graceful Family as well. I think the dilemma was only about figuring out which one to watch first

      1
      0

I think it depends on your mood. They have very different vibes, but Into the Ring is super fun and a good pick-me-up, whereas Graceful Family is a full-on makjang-melo but fast paced so it never feels draggy. Both have excellent female leads who never get overshadowed by their male counterparts and both are totally worth watching. I may personally like Into the Ring a bit more, but only because I prefer comedy and because it has one of my favorite dramaland couples in a long time.

    7
    1

Those two have different feels xD But if in the mood of something light and fun, I’d go with Into The Ring. If in a mood of a little makjang with a little fun, Graceful Family.

Hospital Playlist thoughts: Maybe Song Hwa hasn’t gone out with any of the guys (or any guys at all for that matter for all we know) is because she prefers women.

I’m in a really strange head space right now and just need an escape. So I’ll try it with this. #30daydramachallange.
1: Favorite KDrama
I don’t think I really have a #1. At this moment I think I’d go with Healer. Not because it’s the best of dramas. But because I comeback to it every time I need something comfortable and familiar or when I just don’t feel like watching any of the dramas on my tbw list
2: Favorite CDrama
Haven’t seen one (I don’t count Put Your Head on My Shoulder cause I never finished it)
3: Favorite JDrama

4: First Drama
My Girl – My then roommate (now BFF), decided I needed to watch this drama. We almost got written up by our residence advisor because we were squee-ing too loudly in the middle of the night

I thought I was one of those that would never be swayed by PPL. I write this as I sip my daily dose of Maxim while I hit “order” on my cart full of Korean skincare products.

20

People keep reminding me I need to order some k-beauty stuff! What did you order? (I am swayed by PPL!)

    2
    2

I ordered different types of sunscreens (face/body). People keep telling me Korean/Asian sunscreens are WAY better than the ones we get here in the US. As in, they’re not as chalky and don’t flake. I also got face cleanser, lip tings, emulsion, moisturizer and some face masks (yes, my bank account is crying). I am TRYING to do the whole K beauty regime but my middle name is lazy with all capital letters. Up until now, I just haven’t cared much for skincare/ make up. My daily “beauty” regime has been – shower, apply coconut oil all over, done. I can practically hear the whole beanieverse gasping in horror. Yes I know, I should take better care of my skin. I’m trying!

lip tints* – I never spell check T_T

Swap the coconut oil for olive oil and you’re me. I did find a Korean face moisturizer I’m now totally devoted to.

@ally-le I’ll let you know how effective my products turn out to be if I remember to not be lazy. But then again, I feel like I’ll force myself to not be lazy after spending so much money on them, lol

Y’all, I don’t think Seo Woo Jin was jealous of In Bum when he and Kim Sabu hugged. I think he was bummed because Samchoon hugged Kim Sabu instead of him! Why did you have to do that to our Chan, Samchoon? Lol I kid. But it would’ve been nice if they’d thrown in some 30 But 17 meta in there.

Hi Bye, Mama seems like it’s going to rip my heart out. Beanies that are watching this show, I’ll take you any insight you may have on this drama. I’m thinking I’ll give it a couple of episode and feel out the fan wall before deciding.

It does look like I’m going to make good use of my tear ducts. I like it though. The ghosts don’t look scary so I’ll stick around.

I really enjoyed the first two episodes. Sad yet funny too. I forsee a heartbreaking ending but with a sad, funny and healing journey getting there.

    2

It’s sad since it dealt with the theme of death and overcoming grief. But it also balanced it nicely with a healthy dose of humor, so it’s not your usual tearjerker melo.

Dear Beanies,

If I may selfishly ask, please send any spare positive/good vibes my way. I could use any and all for the next two days.

Thank you and lots of love <3 <3 <3

I see so many beanies being vulnerable in their “Love, February” posts and it’s fantastic. It’s nice to know that this really is a safe space, we support each other even if it’s virtually and that really helps. Sometimes it’s hard to open up to your closest support system, so it’s reassuring to have Beanies cheering you on. Not everyone understands what you’re going through or have been through because “ not everyone can see your thestrals **”, but we’re still going to be here for you, in whichever capacity possible.

There are several versions of this MV out. I think this one is my favorite. I just needed to put it up here for my own reference.

My office is part of a large campus with many office buildings. My actual team sits in a different building, and I sit with people on a project I am working on. I don\’t know most of the people in this building. During the workday, I like to take 5 minute breaks now and then to stretch my legs, get some water, use the facilities, etc. I started passing by the same few people during my breaks. We eventually got to the \”smile-and-say-hello\” phase while passing by. A few months ago, one gentleman stopped me to chat with me. He asked my name, about my project, and where I sat in the building. Ever since that day, he would come by at least once a week to either chat or drop off something at my desk – an apple, a water bottle, a cookie, etc. Today, he came by and dropped off a brownie, with napkins, a fork, and a knife.

Dear sir, you have no idea who I am as a person. You only know my name, yet you show such random acts of kindness and thoughtfulness towards me. You have no idea how your random visits (even without the gifts) and a quick chat brightens up my day. Thank you for being you.

Love,
February

Parasite winning big at the Oscars is a win for SO many different reasons. Obviously, the team that created this masterpiece is going to be happy and proud. This has nothing to do with me. The only way I was “involved” was that I watched the movie – and got 5 (yes FIVE!) other people who roll their eyes at me when I talk about K-dramas to watch it with me. They all enjoyed the movie and were now open to other foreign language productions (Doesn’t have to be K-ent!)
So then, if this has nothing to do with me, why do I feel such a feeling of contentment and satisfaction towards their win? I don’t gain anything from it. I am just so darn happy for the team. I don’t understand this emotion but it’s there.
To everyone that was involved in the success of Parasite, including the audience, congratulations!

I am waiting for tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow will be the end of waiting, and beginning of something amazing. I keep telling myself not to worry. I don\’t have any control over the outcome. If the outcome is in my favor, there will be a whole new meaning of love with it\’s wonderful layers. Here\’s to hoping for a different kind of love.

Love,
February

    Dear Seri,
You HAD to lose your your phone to the bad guy after putting location tracking on both of you phone. I hope you at least had the smarts to put a passcode to your phone.

Hi Beanies! Long time no see! I have a question for the more knowledgeable beanies. This came to me while I was listening to the Spirits Podcast. They recently did an episode on Jacheongbi. I haven\’t researched this so I don\’t know much about it but from what I heard on the podcast (and you can trust Julia to do her research), it seemed something right out of a K-Drama! That being said, I was wondering there is a drama(s) that has explored this mythology? If not, WHY NOT?!?

Also – if you enjoy mythology/urban legends from around the world, I would highly recommend the Spirits Podcast!
