Aw, isn’t little Wang Seok-hyun cute?
September 5 saw the end of the 17th Chunsa Film Festival and its closing-night awards ceremony, which was held in Icheon, Kyunggi-do. The winners list was dominated by the popular, recently released sports film Take Off [국가대표, or National Athlete], although vampire film Thirst did well, as did lush period piece Portrait of a Beauty.

Adorable Wang Seok-heon, currently playing a young snob in the drama My Fair Lady, picked up an award for Speed Scandal. I just love that he’s wearing knee socks and breeches. And that other people can’t seem to get over how cute he is, either.
Song Chang-eui (Boys Don’t Cry) arrived with Hon‘s breakout star Im Joo-eun; he and Cha Seung-woo (Go Go 70s) both won for New Actor:
Choi Jung-won and Jung Jun-ho were both given Hallyu Culture awards:
Jo Ahn (Lifting King Kong) was winner for New Actress:
Actress Go Eun-ah (A Million) and MC Kim Sung-joo acted as hosts for the awards ceremony:
Who knew that the hilariously wacky musical and TV actress Jung Soo-young (City Hall, Fantasy Couple) was also a budding fashionista? I absolutely love the dress and how well it fits her.
Kim Ji-suk and his Take Off co-stars Choi Jae-hwan and Lee Jae-eung accepted a group acting award, along with Ha Jung-woo and Kim Dong-wook (the latter two not pictured)
Is it me, or do Director and New Director award winners Park Chan-wook (Thirst) and Park Gun-yong (Take Off) look remarkably similar?
Lee Mi-yeon won the top acting award at last year’s Chunsa Awards:
The dress that Song Ji-eun (White Lie) is wearing is a little plain (and seems to fit awkwardly), but she wasn’t a focus of the night and looks pretty:
I remember first seeing Kim So-yeon in Fireworks and thinking she was funny, and wondering why she didn’t get more work. She’s currently in the SBS drama Swallow the Sun, and this dress is adorable on her:

I didn't notice Min Young Won in BBF either! No wonder she looked so familiar while I was watching Brilliant Legacy. Just out of curiousity, why is Min Young Won's dress catagorized as "prom dress?"

I didn't like Thirst, it's the 2nd worst movie I've ever seen... :(
Shin Min Ah's dress has a built-in pompom to cheer for herself.

^ Jin Sun Mi didn't originate from Boys Before Flowers (or Return of Iljimae). It's a shortened way of referring to the traditional ideals of beauty -- in all, there are jin, sun, mi, jeong, sook, and hyun. They're really more like virtues, i.e, patience, kindness, purity, generosity, etc.
Jin, Sun, and Mi were then taken as the names for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the Miss Korea pageant. So in BBF, the trio were being conceited by calling themselves beautiful in adopting the Jin, Sun, and Mi nicknames.

Agree JSY's dress is very chic and edgy and interesting! Who knew! Easily the best dressed lady of the evening.
But the great Song Kang Ho looks the best! I love the way he carries himself at award ceremonies where he always dominates. So tall and elegant. Never pimps himself. I guess with that talent he doesn't need to.

Shin Mina is definitely very beautiful....but that dress is a mess. It looks as though the designer couldn't decide on what style of sleeve to sew on, so he/she went with two different kinds. Her hair is a bit of a mess too, unfortunately. I have seen her in far more flattering styling. Nonetheless, the dress does show off her slim physique and long legs.
I do like Kim So-yeon's dress quite a bit. It's probably the best out of the above batch of photos.

But it's precisely those details that make Shin Mina's dress fun, interesting and edgy. Otherwise it would be just the same old boring done to death short sexy black dress and she would end up looking like she's pimping herself. Like one of those Wonder Girls. They scare me......they look like clones that came straight out of some factory. So manufactured.

That little dude is ridiculously cute. I wish there were other excuses besides awards shows ans very, very, very fancy weddings to dress little children in knee socks and breeches.
