Yiiiiikes. These new photos from MBC’s upcoming drama series A Man Called God almost pain me to see.
When the drama’s main star, Song Il-kook, showed off his new body a couple of days ago, I was a little surprised that there were more negative comments than positive, because those were some impressive muscles he was showing off. But not so here: in these stills, he looks positively sickly. The actor had dropped 15 kg for this role, leaving him with practically no body fat.
Compare how he looks here with, for example, how he looked in two of his previous action roles:

(I miss the old badass Song Il-kook! The shoot does look beautiful, though.)
A Man Called God filmed these scenes at Honolulu’s Kualoa Ranch. In order to capture as much of the scenery as possible, the production made use of a helicopter, which you can see in the last shot. Unfortunately, while filming a scene where Song rides horseback, the proximity of the helicopter startled the horse, which jumped and put the actor in a potentially dangerous situation.
Song came out of the shoot unharmed, and said, “I’ve shot scenes like this several times now, and have narrowly escaped big injuries in the past.” A producer explained, “After that, we were going to use a stand-in actor for the horseback scene, but Song Il-kook was passionate about doing it himself. In the end, we were able to finish filming with Song without injury.”

Big fan of SIG in Jumong and KOTW but I dont like his new look. It creeps me out….I see bones ..skeleton ahhhhh /runs and hide.
He looks scarily emaciated, and his hair looks terrible too >.< Weight loss doesn't suit him
first picture reminds me of that little guy from fantasy island. don’t like this look. come to think of it, i never liked his look before either, LOL!!!
I can’t stop thinking that losing the 15 pounds is a case of if-they-can-do-it-i-can-do-it-better… just a case of one actor trying to put one on other actors who have gone before him…. whatever… i am not impressed…. with that look, w don’t think i will ever check out this drama…. but then again, i didn’t even check out jumong or any of his other dramas, LOL!!!
They say the camera adds lbs. Can you imagine how sickly he must look in person if if looks this bad in pictures!!
Well personally, if you’re over 30 and lose so much weight… your face will sag. So I am sure up-close he will look older because of the lost of meat on his face. Therefore making him look gaunt and tired.
doesnt he look MALNOURISHED or something?!!!!…gaaaah
He doesnt look good in the picture. I like him in his sexy muscles.
i will reserve final judment for when the drama actually airs.
but i think a skin tight, all white jumpsuit isn’t doing him any favors
Many movies and tv shows were filmed in this area, right? Like, “Windtalkers”, “50 First Dates” and “Mighty Joe Young”? Beautiful area!
ELOW THERE… IT’S NICE TO HEAR THAT YOU’RE BACK TO SHOOT ANOTHER DRAM FOR YOUR FANS…
OMG. He looks so terrible. What happens to him. Who told him to lose that much weight. He looks so ghostly.
He is so lean and mean in this series. I can’t find any fat mass on him anywhere. He makes every pants look great on him. I love his thunder thighs. A few times, I feel SIG might tip over because he looks unproportioned by his body mass is like superman heavy.
There is a scene of him picking up a super cute little girl in a meadow with a classroom of kids tagging along a godly master SIG. Sweet exotic scene.
