Yoo Seung-ho is heading to cable for his next project, a drama titled Operation Proposal, to air on channel TV Chosun.
It’s based on the 2007 Japanese drama Proposal Daisakusen starring Yamapi and Nagasawa Masami, and the role ought to give Yoo a chance to dial back the villainous route he took in Warrior Baek Dong-soo in favor of a gentler role. He plays a man who realizes that he’s in love with his longtime friend… at her wedding ceremony. Well, that’s awkward. Thankfully, he’s given a second chance to win his love by traveling back in time.
Ah, phew. Well, that explains the casting of an 18-year-old, because no matter how good an actor Yoo is, I’m not sure I’d buy him feeling a lifetime of regret at the altar when he looks so fresh and young. Maybe a semester of regret.
The series is described as a fantasy melodrama, and Yoo said, “I found the topic of time travel fresh, and the way he works hard to protect his first love is memorable.” It sounds like a whimsical heart-tugger, and I’m all for both of those things (and for Yoo), so bring it on, I say.
Writing the series is Yoon Ji-ryun of two prior school-set series, Sharp and Boys Before Flowers. Erm, I’m not sure how to feel about that. Granted, Boys Before Flowers was more weak in the editing and directing than it was in the writing, so maybe that’s not something to worry about. Directing is PD Kim Woo-sun of daily dramas Can’t Stop and the recently wrapped You Are Quite Beautiful.
The drama will begin filming later this month, and plans for a February broadcast.

PRO DAI WAS AND IS MY FAVORITE JAPANESE DRAMA!!! as much as i like Yoo Seung-ho, I can’t help but think that this remake is not going to surpass the original. I mean, scriptwriter for BOYS OVER FLOWERS? -__- plus, Yamapi is like the hottest japanese man i know.
The sciptwriter fro BOYS OVER FLOWERS is doing this? Omg, my interest just decreased. The only way this will be saved is if Kim So Eun was casted!
as much as I want her to be in it, I don’t think it’s going to happen. KSE said she would like to take villain role for her new project.
yamapi is one of my fav japanese actors.. his dramas that i couldn’t finish; dragon zakura n proposal daisakusen… how ironic… hahaha…
yoo seungho was in god of study n i watched it… and now proposal daisakusen remake… probably will watch it bcoz of seungho of course… XD

Not so excited about this when I read it was going to be a melodrama but Yoo Seung Ho is in it so I will at least watch the first few episodes.
I have not watched the original J-drama but I will put it at the top of my drama-watching-list so I can watch it before this remake airs.

This is unlikely to happen because for one, Jiyeon already signed on Dream High 2! I REALLY REALLY want it to be with Kim So Eun!
Yoo Seung-ho seems to have some interest in Yamapi’s drama…hehehehe…can he act Nobuta wa Produce if ever there is a remake???
I actually liked the Dorama, very Jdrama-like…it’s just Jdrama doesn’t really focus much on the love story but more on friendship and other virtues in life…^_^

I love me so Yoo, but I have to disagree editing and directing was good but the storyline was just awful, but then again I stop watching at episode 8 so you could be right on point with the rest of the 16 episodes..
quite honestly, despite being a big fan of the original drama version (and yes the main couple lacked chemistry, but the fact that the show still carried enough charisma throughout its run really shows how well put the rest of the elements made the drama) i’m highly doubtful of this remake.
i want to like it though. the idea is really striking to me anyway – that our outcome can be completely different given little changes in the past. but if its a melodrama i’m probably out
I’ve watched the Proposal Daikusen. The male lead already realized he loved his best firend way before the wedding. In fact, he tried to tell her his feelings several times but each time was a failure. It was only during the wedding that he was truly regretful that a “fairy” residing in the wedding hall decided to give him a second chance by traveling back in time.
This kid is getting hotter and hotter by the year. Oh well, let’s see him grow! ^_^

I am really looking forward to watching this really can’t wait to see yoo seung ho again hopefully he’ll get the girl in this drama which i have high hopes he will (hopefully anyway)
