Peppertones – “Asian Game.” If Korea had hipsters, this is the song I imagine they’d be rocking out to. Well, rocking out internally—outwardly they’d be tapping toes indifferently, nursing PBRs and looking out through asymmetrical haircuts, pretending not to dance inside. [ Download ]

May queen!!! is anyone else as obsessed with it as I am?

Omg Kim Jae Won and Jae Hee are gorgeous!!...and I believe this is the first time I've wanted both guys to get the girl.

And I'm loving Han Ji Hye as Hae Joo and love her family and her adopted uncle and aunty as well.

I know its going to turn makjang with all the angst but I have so much affection for these characters that I'm so completely in for the ride.

I'm STILL not over Gaksital as of the last Open Topic Thread! :( :( :(

Today I listened to one of the Gaksital soundtracks today (the instrumental sad piano one). Just mentally preparing for one of the three YouTube videos I want to create in the near future. One for KangTo, one for Shunji, and one for Rie. None for MokDan -- but she'll be in the other three leads' videos.

I also rewatched episode 27 where Shunji has tea with Rie and he reveals he doesn't know why he protected her from Chairman Ueno but he surmises it's got to do with her being Korean to her roots. And I realized that was another gem of a moment because you get to see a flicker of the old Shunji -- you know, the one who wanted to co-exist peacefully with them and the children, even though he kinda wants to *own* them (not unlike how he possessed all those rural art pieces in his school room).

What I'm going to write is just my humble opinion:
1: When it comes to rom-coms, women (who are the main audience target) want to identify themselves with slender and free creatures.
2: Pregnancy and kids more generally is not seen as something as fulfilling as it is in Western countries. SK has a very low birth rate. I sometimes feel like they have kids by duty or by accident, not really because they want to (patriarchal society, neo-confucianism and economic crisis explain partially that situation).

One of the characters in Dal Ja's Spring was pregnant throughout the entire show. By the way, I would highly recommend this series if you haven't seen it yet.)

I've decided to put Arang on hold because right now I'm too spazzy over TTBY and totally invested in Iljimae. I'm also trying to finish up the Taiwanese version of Hana Kimi before next week's final eps of TTBY.

I hear Vampire Idol and Vampire Prosecutor are two really good dramas to watch. Thoughts?

And finally, I've had to start lists of dramas I've watched, want to watch and are in progress of being watched. *shakes head*

I officially have a problem.

Iljimae. :) I love Il Woo so even though I've heard Return Of is not that great, I'll still watch it when I'm done with Iljimae. Maybe I'll watch episodes of FBRS in between so I have pretty Il Woo to look at hah. I had to watch eps of "Standby" in between some eps of Iljimae because some things just got to heavy for me and I needed a few laughs. (Plus Ki-woo is super duper cute)

i watched the return of iljimae as homework before my ..ahem.. date with jung il woo last week. i liked it. i thought the cinematography and fight scenese were great. location was stunning. il woo was beautiful. BUT i do think that some ppl might find it slow.

at points, i thought 'cant he get a break?' and really felt for all he had to go through.

anyway , i hope you will enjoy it if you do try it out

Oh I'll stick with it til the end, just because of Il woo. (Of course that's what I said about Love Rain because of Sukkie, but that 1st ep made me so mad...)

Vampire Prosecutor is a show that I HIGHLY recommend. If you haven't watched the first season I suggest you marathon it. You won't be disappointed if you enjoy criminal dramas with some sprinkles of humor and heart-warming bonds. Season 2 is going on right now, and I'm going crazy waiting for subs! I have to fight the temptation to not spoil myself with the recap before seeing the episode. Season two is like the first, except with more eyeliner! ;) I think the overall mystery seems to be of a bigger scale in the second season, though.

I've heard that vampidol is supposedly very funny and cute. I want to watch it, but there are only 7 eps subbed. :'( I'll probably watch it raw anyway.

I do not know how anyone else feels, but I am seriously jonesing for a cliched. classic, hot, silly, funny, control freak, jerk with a heart of gold drama guy. I need my Gu Jun Pyo, my Chef, my Cha Chi-soo, Kim Joo won, Hyun Jin-heon, running around being all angsty/passionate. Hell, I'll even take that crazy assclown Dokko Jin at this point. He made me want to punch him in the throat most of the time, so yeah, desperate haha.

Mystisith-heck yeah! We can write a soul sista petition-Pending shows and writers, get busssssy!

ck10z- Those are my favorite lovely drama jerks and I'm happy to watch their stories one at a time!

But then again, I'm not opposed at all to having a hot guy harem, because, hey, hello, NOT crazy ;) That said, I could save myself for say, Hyun Bin if his post military role is such. Oooohhh, or Bi Rain getting out of the military and actually gets a non angsty or non wierd good show taking on a nice classic, hot, silly, funny, control freak, jerk with a heart of gold role. That really wouldn't suck at all, right?

Actually, if Rain gets out of the military and just does a MV or live performance, because, he let's get real, some of those are better than the MV's, where he objectifies himself, oops I mean, employs his assets, as usual with the lack of shirts and/or uh, tight clothes oops I mean tailored costumes, and suggestive contortions of his body, oops I mean innovative choreography, and ruins all of us for life, well, that would be, uh, pleasant too.

Totally got all off track on account of Rain popping into my mind. I'm in trouble now. I have 2 papers to write and an exam to study for. Aish!

Hi. I have realized I have picked up some aegyo!!! I kind of act weird at work. Involuntarily. But my collegues are such strict and serious people that I cant help to smooch them over a bit with some blink-blink and estonian version for "Oppa!" - "Musi!"

also, I passed a cafe today where someone yelled, pointing at me: "Kangnam style!" wtf. I dont look anything like that. and he was not korean. Is stripüed sweater kangnam style?

I started making aegyo faces at work too...for example, that puffed out cheeks look that everyone gives like ALL THE TIME. I don't even do it on purpose! >_<

I've always been the queen of cute baby face-making to get my way, but until K-dramas I never thought that it was a real (I guess real? I dunno) thing. But now I'm way more conscious of it and it kind of weirds me out. Trying to stop, haha.

Hello all you wonderful people on DB! How is everyone?

I have a little question: are any of you disqus users? If so, how often do you use it, and are you more motivated to post a comment on a website if they use it? I've seen that it's getting really popular.
