Hello from a tired beanie.
I'm tired of being exhaisted from work.
I'm tired from the world being so bad to women that it's hard to live without fear.
I'm tired because I'm in a slump since Run on and don't have anything to watch to atleast distract my mind.

Having some hope for Navillera and Joseon Exorcist (though Kingdom exists and they can't beat the production values). What else is coming to dramaland?

Also I did sth similar last to last week I guess where I asked you guys to share some happy news.
I don't have any good or happy news but if you do please share it with all of us.

I ate fish and chips yesterday and Korean buffet today. Those are some good things I can think of. 🧐 I also got some fresh strawberries from an acquaintance, they are sweet and sour but also delicious.

Don’t let me begin with the not-so-good things..

Human trafficking report is a bit better for women this year and trade is shifted towards children.
I have seen the cliche of W used related to Birth but those 5 Ws give us pretty good picture of future of most of human population.
Born Male is like winning lottery in most parts of the world. merely 1 factor and still being so substantive now think what impact others factors have on human society.

We who watch these fictional dramas of foreign lands are the privileged class.

Good things - my one year old is awake in her cot but I don’t have to get up yet because her big sister (4) is playing with her and bringing her toys. It’s awfully cute AND I get a little extra time to sleep (well, to rest, it’s very noisy).

@wapzy I'm sorry to hear you are so tired. But I totally understand!!! I'm tired, but mainly because a friend of my shared some really hard news this week and I'm trying to find a way to give her comfort.

But for you:
The sun is shining here in Oregon.
The daffodils and crocuses are blooming like crazy.
The Roufous Hummingbirds and Swallows will arrive soon and I so look forward to them.
The orange toddler is no longer in the white house
The US finally has an administration that has a heart and compassion.
The trees are beginning to blossom.
And oh yeah, the sun is shining and it will come again tomorrow so we get another chance to find all those little moments of joy.
So take care of yourself.
There are two fun shows on Netflix - one is Moxie and the other is My Octopus Teacher.
Watch them and they will make you smile.

In the meantime just take care of yourself and look for those moments of joy that make you smile at least once.
Okay?
Okay!

Oh, and my camera of course which means I'd need my laptop.

So yes coffee, wifi and chocolate.

5

Peanut butter and vegemite, the United States and Australia divide. But you're correct that chocolate should be included @leetennant, and I can't believe I left that out.

5

I don’t need coffee. I’ll replace it with chocolate. Or maybe tea.

5

I figured, @egads, we hadn't had a good peanut butter vs vegemite stoush for a while.
But we can all agree on chocolate.

3

Yayyy! Wifi, chocolate, coffee(tea for me) is everything.

The 1st antic of 2021 -

No internet for 5 straight days - last week. I just wanted to know how much i relied on net power.
120 hours - 10 hours spent as tv viewer - 35 hours sleep
No roaming outside - protect yourself
new rule added - no tv, no radio, no newspaper
I spend 65+ hours on bed sitting, lying doing meditation.
Idle mind - -ve thoughts should approach and take over you but surprise surprise there weren't many -ve thoughts around.
I kept thinking about this and that region, resources there and how i could buy resources there and increase my wealth.

How could i be in top 1% of the population. What amount of bank balance allows me to be called a Rich and so on and as expected i wasn't much dependent on technology and somehow can run around fully functional without internet.

I can fight off against internet shutdowns. natural or man-made.

I can be wrong on N number of things but when it comes to business of CCP i'm mostly right thanks to knowledge gained through the vast experience of various publications.
I can say i'm attracted to CCP the most for now. Only if i become as much successful.

I still miss the major Korean TV network entertainment and talk shows. It used to be the only way to get some real insight into actors and actresses and their personal stories. It seems that in order to get a celebrity to open up with their personal stories, is to guest on a healing variety show, like the many camping shows that hit the airwaves during the pandemic, such as House on Wheels and Camping Vibes, or a variety-chat show like Problem Child in the House.

Hello, Beanies! Happy Friday!

Thanks to an absolutely exhausting month at work, I’m now behind on all the k-drama stuff. Indeed, the only drama-adjacent thing I’ve even done these past few weeks is read a couple of comment threads here at DB!

What is everyone watching? New stuff? Old stuff?

It’s bright and sunny outside today, and I hear that some COVID restrictions in my state may be lifted today, so that does make me a bit happier. Bring on spring!

happy friday beanies!!!
age of youth has successfully resurrected me from my drama slump-- i believe i am on episode 7 by now. i actually really really like the show, han yeri's character has my heart (AND UGH HER ROMANCE WITH HER CHEF COWORKER BUT THEY CAN'T BE TOGETHER) and park hyesoo's character is just so so so so cute! there's also a darker mystery running under everything that i can't wait to see unfold. i'm just happy there's a season 2!!!

MA's last episode will likely be completed today-- i'm so reluctant to watch it based on how episode 15 made me CRY. i was so scared of how donghoon would react to finding out lee jian has been listening to his life the whole time, but the way he came to her and told her that he'll be happy now for her just blew me away. i didn't expect him to react like that to jian, but it's perfectly park donghoon-- he always puts others first and is always so, so kind. i don't want to let go of my ajusshi :,

i started love alarm s2 today, i've only seen the first episode thus far but... i did not like it. the filming and color palettes the new season uses makes it almost a wholly different show. i was excited because the trailer made the show seem so much more mature (and i thought it would be a continuation of what we saw in the last 4 eps of s1), but the ending of episode 1 was so STUPID (spoiler: jojo goes to visit the school and meets sunoh there, ONLY IN DRAMAWORLD). i'll watch ep 2 and hope things will get better, but i don't know guys!!

anyway, hope everyone enjoys the weekend <3

love and hwaiting,
shachi

Sunbae Don’t Put On That Lipstick was a wonderful K-drama with relationships that endured and changed without a single truly evil enemy of the people in it! I wish it was a 52-episode weekend drama! Roo Woon, as I’ve gushed before, is my new bias.♥♥ I loved the closeness he (as Hyun-Seung) had with his sisters and adorably witty niece. Actress Wang Bit-Na really captured my attention (she is also in River Where the Moon Rises) with her smart acting and charming stage presence. She is very classy. Song-Ah grew on me over time and I loved her story of following her dream, living it out (remember her mentor said to pick what she would regret less); however, time affects our perspective and we get to change our minds in life, right? I could hold it against her for hurting Hyun-Seung (I want him to know I would never do that to him!!), but her efforts to reassure him and win him back were make-up-after-break-up perfect and I love her for that. Hyo-Joo deserves applause for her recovery journey and ability to face Jae-Shin with inner strength. So, two weddings, a divorce with as much family support as one could hope for, and two people free to go their separate ways makes for as happy an ending as any K-drama I’ve seen and I love it!

Hello Me was a bit slow this week, but the story still holds my interest. I love the way the two Han-Nis piece together the past/present people in their lives and have aha! moments. Anthony is annoying enough to almost make me drop, though.

Started watching 18 Again because so many beanies recommended it – it is very well done. Gosh, the bullying again . . .

Revolutionary Sisters starts this weekend, I hope it’s fun!

Call me crazy, but I’d like to see a good body swap drama come along!

Rain and Jackson, phew!

Happy weekend!

Got my vaccine last weekend! Had a reaction to the shot - it felt like a 24 hour flu - and that gave me the perfect chance to stay in bed the whole day watching Romance is a Bonus Book 😊
No idea why it took me so long to pick up this work place drama about publishing. Aside from the aspirational aspects (like, I've never met anybody in the business who dresses remotely as smartly as everyone in this drama😂 - publishers are poor!) , it's really nice and it makes sure to teach some of the nooks and crannies of the business. At least from my little experience from long long ago, it felt accurate. That book cemetery 😭! The stress of gathering enough people to have a dignified book presentation 😂 The technical mistakes that can break a business. And the dedication of the people working in the industry 💚 Well done, drama!
Also, it's one of these pretty and chill stories without any real villain. And Wi Hajoon is here to be a cute second lead with his own love line and backstory, and that makes me happy. He even has a cute dog, yay!
I wasn't super invested in the romance, but all the rest was really nice, so there it is!

And seeing Kang Dani getting back on her feet through her dedication and hard work - and without being rescued by the ML - just felt really satisfying! 💪
Here's to more dramas with mature women having real jobs. You know, like ones where they keep going to work every day and that don't kind of fade into the background as soon as the FL starts dating 🤣

I, too, really enjoyed RIABB. The FL is one of the most charming actresses I’ve ever seen, and the character she portrayed in the drama is worth rooting for. Besides, and most importantly, it somehow brought me back to book shops and I began reading again after oh so many years (more than 10 I guess.) This one really holds a special place in the my heart ❤️.

The daughter was totally a plot device 🤣 I understand that they wanted to show this very common problem women have in real life - coming back to work after/while raising kids - but the way they just packed the kid away to leave room for cohabitation shenanigans felt a bit harsh 😂

Hello, all:
Presently engaged in much guerilla gardening in local parks. Will see how this all turns out. Newest novel finished. It's now being beta read by my good friend Jessica Rydill who writes Jewish Shaman fantasy.

Dramas:
Sword and Brocade -- so good! High-born concubine will surely lose her sanity but not before she has done great damage.
Hello Me -- sooo good! Anthony and his crew are seriously silly.
Mouse -- There's nothing so flamboyant or so hot as a kdrama serial killer. The cdrama serial killers try but unsuccessfully. To kdrama villains, all hotness and weirdness belong. And by the way, the secondary characters this drama season are killing it. Both in cdramas and kdramas.
Sunbae...lipstick: Am so angry with this drama. In any other drama, an intrusive ex feeling entitled to enlighten the dating exes would be frowned upon. But here, intrusive ex is allowed to break up a marriage because he wants his former lover to find himself. Seriously, what gives him the right? Isn't marriage more about love and sexual attraction in a society with all those arranged marriages in its history? Just annoyed me, especially since the former exes of the leads were treated so badly.
Live -- so far so good. I didn't see this when it came out and i love Kwang-soo.
Times -- ohmigosh, this writer doesn't make it easy for himself, does he? Nothing predictable so far. They better not settle into predictability now that the timey-wimey is seemingly done.
Sisyphus kdrama -- i tried. Lawdy knows i tried.
Vincenzio -- i didn't try.
My heroic husband-- fun and silly.
I've Fallen for you -- fun and i still have to push past the old "you're fated for me but you're not the one i thought was fated for me" episode.
Sisyphus cdrama -- talk about over-the-top serial killers.
That's about it. Have a great weekend, all.

Hey beanies! Just keeping as busy as I can this week. Kids had projects to do and o have dramas to watch! Doesn’t seem fair to them, but hey, I studied hard to get where I am. Which is on my couch watching Hello? It’s me! And Moon River. And Money Flower. And Sisyphus. But I’m actually on my treadmill for the latter.

Hello? Serves up just right amount of comedy, heart, and crush-worthy cuteness that it’s my favorite thing right now. I just love it.

Moon River’s last two episodes were terrible, I almost wish they would have just kept Ji-soo in them and not put up any close ups with Na In Woo. I still have hope though. New whole scenes with our new ML are coming next week.

Money Flower, just started this for Jang Hyuk, and way more soapy for what I typically watch—it was a daily drama, I think—but it’s totally watchable and Jang Hyuk is mesmerizing as always.

And Sisyphus, dear sweet Sisyphus. The leads are really pretty good. I don’t really get anything else though. I’m not wrapping my head around how she’s dead but not dead in the future. I must not be smart enough. 😂

I’m sure there’s a conversation somewhere around here:

Hubby: don’t you think you should stop watching dramas and see how your kids are doing?

Me: *guilted into going downstairs although I know the end result. Comes back upstairs after 15 minutes.*

Hubby: that’s it? What happened?

Me: tried to help son glue down some card board, did it wrong, got yelled at. Watched daughter make some white chocolate clusters before she ran off in a panic because she forgot to do some homework so I washed her bowls and came back up.

Hubby: *laughing* sounds like you had some successful teen-preteen-son-daughter-mother bonding time!

Me: Yep, I’m the overachiever! So where was I?

Moral of the story: it’s the quality, not the quantity.

Second moral: Kim Young Kwang + hubby + couch = heaven

Third moral: Stay safe, everyone! Get your vaccine; they work REALLY, REALLY well!

….

Eheheheh Woops!🤭

Happy weekend Beanies and keep Beaning On!😂

The new formation started last Monday, and things are going suspiciously smoothly.🤔 I am enjoying it will it lasts of course, because some things immediately went back to normal. Like feeling tired 24/7 and wanting to sleep 24/7, or printing course materials instead of actually studying. I am pretty sure it partly went wrong there last time too.

In ideal circumstances I would let the office printer do the job while I continue with my work, but strict social distancing regulations at work and required permission slips make it impossible to just waltz into the office, unless you go on Wednesdays or later when nobody is around. My formation sessions limit those available time slots even further, but the biggest obstacle has to be the availability of the course materials in the first place.

I usually print before class, so that I can take notes on the sheets I need to study. Unfortunately the teachers need to keep updating the course materials until the last possible second, so you can guess who will have to log in and print on Sunday evening.😤It is not their fault because they are really willing to comply, but it forces me to print everything at home manually at the most ungodly hours when printing shops or permission slips are not an option. So my “study time” this week was just printing and organizing course materials, as usual. I really hope that problem gets resolved in the following weeks.

But I am nitpicking again. I also have to mention the fact that everyone remains healthy for now, and I am definitely feeling much better than I did two months ago!😀

So, methinks I’ve finally found the comments thread! Yes! My current love interest is Vincenzo - it’s fascinating stuff. We KNOW our hero was/is a Mafioso but how well will he fare in Korea now that he is on his own? So far, he has shown great creativity in his dealings with the “baddies” - take the 50 odd syringes in the pillow, was that brilliant or what!

The person I really really really don’t like is the prosecutor turned defence solicitor. She’s a real nasty piece of work! And as for Jang Jung Woo! He turned out to be a real little shit! His brother almost looks quite humane in comparison.

I’m liking the way Vincenzo is able to pull a rabbit out of the proverbial hat, but something has to give. We can’t keep playing tug-o-war each week. I just hope our boy gets to keep his gold. Even if it is ill-begotten gains, I still want him to have it.

Song Joong-ki’s acting is superb, his Italian phrases and words are good, you can tell he has put a lot of effort into this. I only wish we get to see more of the Italian side of our hero, I just love him doing that hand waving thing. He does it so well. Ciao!

Here in Australia 🇦🇺, we’re a bit behind the times, mom maybe it’s just me. I only heard about Kdrama last year and can’t get enough of it! In fact, I don’t watch anything else now. Ergo, much of what I watch was made some years ago. Netflix Australia doesn’t have as big a list as Netflix USA, alas.

Anyway, I am watching “My Country: The New Age” currently just started episode 13. But.... I am devastated to know that Seo Hwi dies. Why ? Why does he have to die? That’s what I get for reading the spoilers, I know, but it’s sort of ruined it for me puts a dampener on things known our hero dies. I tried to find out why Bang Won ordered his death, but that little secret I cannot find anywhere. Sigh..... at this stage, I wish the writer of My Country hadn’t ended a fine series like this so sad 😞. And disappointing. But more sad 😢.

At the bottom of the page there's a resource section, but it won't answer that question. "My Shows" is a place you can keep track of every drama you watch (as long as they have a page on Dramabeans), or just your favorites. It's up to you what you place there. To add a drama, go to a page for that drama (for example type "Love Alarm 2" into the search) and look for the "Favorite" button on the picture at the top of the page. Clicking the favorite button will add that drama to your "My Shows" category. Each beanie has a "My Shows" button on their page and you can look at them by clicking on the beanies name, going to their page and then clicking on the "My Shows" button. Once you've placed a drama on your list, you can access it by the drop down menu under your name/icon at the top of the page, or by going to your page and clicking the "My Shows" button.

Thank you Mugyuljoie, I appreciate your help - there is now something to see in “My Shows” instead of a blank space. It was looking decidedly lonely until now!

Hello,

I have a question please. When looking at “My Profile”, under the header image on the RH side are shown four icons greyed out next to a number, also greyed out. What do they mean and how can I access them? I have tried clicking on them, but nothing happens.
Thank you.

They're users you follow, users who follow you, your number of comments, and the number of likes people have given your comments.

You can click on the name of a Beanie and that will link you to their profile page/fan wall. You can ‘follow’ them by clicking the ‘Follow’ icon there.

Besides that, the follower- following system here is somewhat of a Pandora box; nobody really knows how it works. 🥺

I do not know if it's just me or if perhaps everybody else experiencing issues with your website.
It looks like some of the written text on your posts are running off the screen. Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is happening to them as well?

This might be a problem with my browser because I've had this happen previously.

Thanks

time and actual effort to produce a good article… but what can I say… I hesitate a lot and don't seem to get
anything done.
