Oh yes, I'm definitely an eyes person. Han Jung-soo's unusual, pretty eyes probably stood out to me more as I once knew someone with those eyes. Seeing that person at a distance was one thing but closer up was another thing altogether, whew! ;)

Not planning on watching Dong Yi anytime soon (no eye candy, ahem!). Lawyers of Korea sounds good though, anything with a nicely done kiss scene, I'm in.

My current kdrama regime is:
Numero Uno: Prosecutor Princess.
Numero Dos: OML (which has replaced C's Unni for the interim.)

100 episodes?? Cor, I struggled with QSD and eventually gave up, even though I loved everything about that drama and that was 62 episodes.
In face you've reminded me to check back through it sometime, I skipped past huge chunks of it and still regret that.

You're absolutely right about the money and love struggles in WHIB, you've summed the whole drama up perfectly.
My analogy between Bad Guy and WHIB was merely drawn from the Bad Guy trailer and any vague synopsis I've read so far (and we all know how misrepresentative they can be!).
Anyways; I see one rich man--an heir, one seemingly unrich man holding a grudge (or in this case, revenge) against rich guy (and his organisation) and a female caught up between the two, forming a love triangle. And a supposedly catty female second lead. In the trailer KJW is the loud and emotive one (JIS), and then we see KNG's 'sad eyes' at the end of the trailer (SJS). (Noo... not those Bidam eyes, KNG!? Please no!)
That's where I thought back to WHIB and just mused over the similarities. I hope to God there'll be a world of a difference between both.

Something tells me that if KNG is the playing the title-role, KJW will be no pushover either and will likely be that much badder. (Exciting!)
WHIB did indeed keep things outside of the main characters above surface level and that Bad Guy looks a bit 'busier' and like it will cover things a bit more incisively. Hopefully.
Anyway, I need to stop comparing.

LOL, I had only seen JIS in two films prior to his 'gangster' turn and those were Madeline and The Classic. They were pretty much non-roles as he was very shy, meek in them and barely had any lines.
Speaking of this actor, I would LOVE to watch Piano where he also played a you-guessed-it: gangster! Alongside Go Soo, Kim Na Heul and Jo Min Soo. Have you seen it or know anyone who has seen it and know what they think of it? It's really hard to find anywhere online.

Did you post a YT video of naked Aaron, cuz he pretty much wasn't wearing any clothes for what mattered! You know, the surgence of Aaron long after the other three Sky Kings hit their peak in the 90s is to me the feel-good story of the decade in HK entertainment. I wrote off Aaron as a pretty boy who can't act long ago, and even Leon had a few decent performances (for instance: Comrades, Almost a Love Story). But to see how he's really hit his stride in his late 30s-early 40s is amazing, cuz idol-dom seems neigh impossible at that age, and yet I'm fangirling him way more now than I ever did ten year ago.

Yes, he looks just like Toshiaki, but more like the hot, rebellious younger brother, whereas Toshiaki is like the hot, sexy professor. And Yutaka just.....in his D'Urban suits.....wow.....so. handsome. I. forgot. to. breath.

Your rantrant against Hitotsu Yane no Shita is completely valid, but I think it was necessary to hammer home to point that preserving the "family" for An Chan Big Bro was way more important than anything else, and he was so dense to Koyuki liking him. If he had known, he would prob. have told her earlier. As for Masaharu - he was always such a conflicted character, I can fault him for not telling her, esp. since telling would have done his feelings a world of good. I thought onlyu I had a Masaharu phase.

Unlike AIMH, I never got the pseudo-incest vibe as much, cuz I dunno, I was a teenager when I watched it, but like from ep. 1 I knew she wasn't their sister, cuz no way in hell a drama would have Noriko Sakai the female lead with two male leads who were her brothers, where's the romance then?

But I don't remember any drama hitting the notes Hitotsu did in terms of exploring what it means to be a family, to sacrifice, to lean on each other. It was really a life affirming drama. And merited a season 2, I just wish they didn't introduce the big ole leukemia subplot!!! I think AIMH and Beautiful Days took the lamest parts of Hitotsu, hehehe.

I am really excited about the STORY in Bad Guy, and I concur it some set up that resembles WHIB. But WHIB Is a unique beast, I doubt it can and should ever be reconstructed in another form. I like early JIS as well. He was a sweetie in The Classic, though Son Ye-jin PWNED the movie, she was luminious.

For those who can't get enough of Takenouchi Yutaka, if you haven't seen Rondo then you are missing out. He was really fine in this drama. It is suspense and romance. Very well done. Oh, and can I emphasize again how good looking Yutaka was in this show? Very!

You won't regret LoK either! Some of these dramas start off pretty slow but the acting is really good.

And the lips....it's interesting the type of lips there are! I never did that before but with the dramas it's fun cause I notice some with the curved upward type of lips that look like a smile even when they aren't smiling.

o nononononono I dun get one bit of the incest vibe AT ALL in my nth rewatch back in the days...but I pulled it out not long ago...and then I discussed w/ old gf who actually went to study in Japan BECAUSE of her Masaharu phase. It's not when we watched it sans the fandom that we saw....um... that's the tried and true incest trope there in the folds... then we debated the whole whether to tell her or not and my gf thought it's even more wrong to not tell her yet allow crush to happen... I do agree.

Might I ask what is Shinzanmono? Anyway, I checked all the TV stations' site for upcoming new dramas. So far I haven't seen anything interesting other than the ones I'd mentioned. Actually I always say this at the beginning of seasons and end up watching at least one drama per day. It's time to consult with my sister, niece and nephew.

The MV of Aaron - let me transcribe what J said - mommy what IS he doing? Why is he just wearing underwear? - then he loses interest and runs off. Yeah, Aaron is an acquired taste which I have only recently started to appreciate.

Rondo - I avoided it cuz after watching CJW slog through Winter Sonota and then the even more horrific performance in Stairwayyyyy to Heaven, I swore I wouldn't to touch her drama with a 10 foot pole (kinda like I how felt about the other CJW Choi Jung won after she produced one single pained expression in KotW). And then I forgot about Rondo, and reassessed CJW after really liking her character in Beautiful Days, and a lesser extent Air City (Awwww yeah, I finally just made the connection - Tazza and Air City are twins - top notch actors and ensemble cast and slick productions undone by a bad a script). Anyhoo, thanks for the reminders of Rondo, I will check out hotness Yutaka looking fine fine in that drama.

@ mookie - my Masaharu phase involved buying his CDs (he can't sing) and watching his dramas (he's an Ekin esque actor at best) but Lordy I thought he was just so cute and adorable. It was his turn as Second Big Bro that hooked me once the seasons ended I moved on. I like his snaggletooth.

I love the 2 males....our General Choi and Park Shi-hoo.....but aigoooo! Forget about Ma Hye-ri!!!!! Prosecutor Yoon was absolutely right out in the field....she was over reacting....she just doesn't have the instincts when to keep her mouth shut!

I'd rather see comments on OT and spare the pain of viewing the episodes. I can't even laugh because it's so darn ridiculous. :-(

About PP, haha, I think you've missed the point. She's meant to be like that. She's not a complete ditz -- aka. the conventional blonde bimbo either, she simply has an 'alternative mindset' and is hilarious with it. KSY has really made this character her very own.
Plus, if you hate her, you should totally watch episodes 3 and 4 where she's attacked for exactly the reasons you don't like her, left, right and centre. It only makes us feel for her that much more, especially when the hits just keep on coming.
But then it's all very subjective, if it ain't your kind of drama, it just isn't.

(PS. I loved the part where she points her finger at Prosecutor Yoon and say; ''I'll show you''. I miss that kind of sentiment, it reminds me of those old school english-dubbed King Fu films we used to watch in our childhood.)

I went into episode 5 and I know the storyline but her character grates me the wrong way! :-( It's like going with the flow but more like cascading down a water fall!

There have been other dramas where the female has been slow to get it or just plain walking on the outside of the circle....but it was tolerable where I could see it all coming together.

I'm laughing and shaking my head right now.....because if looking at eyes and facial expression says a million things....our General Choi is PRICELESS in episode 5 in the office where Ma Hye-ri mentions his "stab" wounds! That's when I bailed!

PSH has that expressionless look on his face....more like dead pan.

Perhaps I have missed the point....bur right now I feel like I'm sitting on top of it and it sure feels uncomfortable! come on supah.....show me the way off!

Ahhh well, back to OML and DW and I have picked up on Cinderella Sister.

Hitotsu Yane no Shita 2 was one of the J dramas broadcast by channel 16 (1 episode per week) some 20 years ago in Seattle, so I was so happy to find the original -- but it lost me in episode 1 when someone said of the wheelchair-bound brother "He's paralysed from the knees down." What kind of accident or illness could cause that sort of paralysis? Now I may have to watch it to find out.

He is in his 80's now, I think, but his early books -- the Changes Trilogy (esp. the Devil's Children), Eva, Tulku, AK, Dancing Bear, etc feature believable characters in past, present, or slightly future settings that are just gripping. His adult series of mysteries (again, not your run-of -the-mill mysteries) were unforgettable. They are being reissued in paperback now.

Do you mean episode 4, when she's dressed as a granny (and convincingly acting like one too), and fussing over him to see how bad his wounds are under his shirt when the other girl walks into the office?
But Yoon's expression there made you bail? You mean it was THAT awful? I thought it was a cute scene, he wasn't particularly bad in it?

I wouldn't say In-woo is deadpan in his scenes with Hye-ri, she just outfoxes him and confuses him everytime they're together. I just see him looking uncomfortable. That's why I say Yoon and Hye-ri are the OTP, they have better chemistry. Besides, we know she pays more attention to our Yoon, he's the very authoritative Kang-ha/Tae-kyung/Gu Jun-pyo of this drama, and he needs a lot of working on. Whereas In-woo is the saviour who has supposedly liked her right from the start - unconditionally - making him the Jun-ha/Shin-woo/Ji Hoon of this drama. You see what I'm getting at? ;)

Anyways, girl, it's perfectly OKAY for you to not like this drama. Don't worry about it, we have individual tastes.

And you know...it might have been episode 4....the fight scene where Yoon comes flying in with his kick....and PSH tosses that molotov cocktail....and then later Ma Hye-ri goes hysterical....and the recorder taped to her was broken. Anyway...the next day in the office, Yoon is giving a report to his boss and MHr comes in to explain everything also. The look on Yoon's face was priceless!!!! It's experience up against a newbie.....there are some things you don't disclose.

I like your Kang-ha/Tae-kung/Gu-junpyo.....rolled into our General Choi character. And yes...PSH role being the Shin-woo/Jun-ha/Ji-hoon characters.

Fun with drama....and I have to chuckle at how we can get so caught up to the point of wanting to change the story! hehehehe.....

I think 2PM-ers might disagree, but from the bits and pieces of still and MVs of CU I see - it's like the entire world kinda disappears except for Eun-jo/Ki-hoon, and the other two are just trying to stick a foot in the door. So yeah, team implies we even need to root for and cheer on Ki-hoon, when it's more a when than an if those two in-pain-but-longing-for-love lovebirds get together.
