Ok on topic of Lebron. The way people treat Lebron is like the 2nd coming of christ. Tiger Wood's dad, Earl, might have been crazy enough to believe his son was jesus but a lot of people are actually treating lebron like the chosen one.

NYC is doing a massive campaign to get Lebron here by naming a sandwich after him and stars and politicians galore kissing his butt to try to entice him here. Mario Batali offered to cook for him every two weeks for life. John Stewart offered to feed him Shake Shack burgers. Even Obama weighed in (but on behalf of Chicago). I don't remember this guy plugging up the oil spill or curing cancer. WTF? I don't think Micheal got this kind of worship and he almost walked on air.

'Bill Laimbeer personally taught the WC players how to flop. He is the Lee Strasberg of sports acting.'
kekeke footballers r in a league of their own:

LOLZ

and it doesnt even include that acrobatic flop of our ESPN commentator Klinsmann in WC90. That's a league above anything I've seen.

"I don’t think Micheal got this kind of worship and he almost walked on air."

Jordan came up in an league that was ruled by Magic and Bird, so he wasn't celebrated like this until after he won his first title. And Kobe was and will never be celebrated like this, because he had to follow Jordan and nobody could dare touch his Airness. (Oh and Yahoo blogger Kelly Dyver is a Kobe-anti as pathetic as a Popseoul bloodsucker.)

Lebron's essentially Lee Min Ho crossed with Moon Geun Young, and Gotham is giving him the Yonsama Tour in Osaka treatment. But he flirted with Song Seung Heon-style controversy during tihs playoffs. But he may end up the next Kwon Sang Woo.

@tennis talk,

Wow at Isner/Marmut. As a lifelong tennis fan, I can't even fathom. To put this in perspective, this is the equivalent of watching Jumong, and then the station decides to extend the show by making the climactic battle last 100 episodes. This 5th set is the frigging tennis version of Old Man of the Sea. Federer may get eliminated before the 5th set ends!!

"Isner/Marmut"

I'm surprised they can even STAND UP, much less play tennis, aces nothwithstanding. It's like a freak show of epic proportions. Sports Guy thinks its Karma, a way for the entire friggin world to remember WIMBLEDON is going on right now as we speak. You know, not just the World Cup.

I watched the highlights of ESPN, glorious, glorious tennis.

Re: Lebron

Right place, right time. Like belleza said, Kobe can too early. If he came up the same time as Lebron, with even more distance with MJ, he would have been given the annointment. Or maybe not....Kobe doesn't play the publicity machine quite like King James.

Anyways, not a Lebron fan, great player, but I have never really enjoyed watching him. Each time I see him play, I feel like I'm watching a show hyped beyond belief, and when I watch, I keep thinking.....this can't be the show everyone is talking about, it's good, but it's not THAT great.

Lebron should go to the Bulls, period, end of story. The Knicks have got no cap space, and then if they dump some players, Lebron suddenly has no support staff again. Chicago is ready with their young talent, and its close enough to Ohio that Lebron's posse of 500 cronies can still glom on to him. Seriously, his posse makes Iversons look like a a few bros out for a Monday night stroll.

MGY if I compare to Lebron is really apt, in the sense that she won her Baeksang (i.e. Lebron's won his regular season MVP), but she hasn't had a bona fide hit in really, ever. And Lebron hasn't won it all yet. He got close when the Cavs went to the finals, only to get wasted by the Spurs, with not up to par Manu Ginobli and a waning Tony Parker, har har har.

Anyhoo, not a hater, if Lebron wins it all it will validate his coronation, to some degree. Kobe's got 5 rings.....King James has got a loooong ways to go.

^ o but Kobe is second coming of Jesus in CHINA, 1.4 billions of Kobe diehards! :) There's his reality show Kobe Mentu, his charity works, he VISITS China and put on fanmeets!

When I was watching the Beijing Olympics on CCTV5 Sports, it worships Kobe at least once a day in a sitdown all idolworshipping interview no matter what, and Kobe the smarty pants is all smiling and doing his Ni Hao, charm overload!! :) I'm pretty sure the factories have a constant stream of plastic figurines of Kobe that they are not exporting. Kobe is huger than Yao Ming in China.

As Confucius say, "Game recognizes game." ;) Even back in 2000, when I visited, my Chinese relatives loved the NBA and they loved Kobe even then.

The greatest thing about being Chinese is our pragmatism. Meritocracy and scholarship is in our blood, and Kobe has been Da Professor since the 90s. As long as you don't wear a Japanese flag at a fashion show (Vicki for the lulz'), we don't care. You want the Mandate of Heaven? You burn the village down like Genghis Khan!!

At the end of the day, all we want is your capitalist bling. And if you count the gold, Kobe is the Frigging Jade Emperor of King James's Court. Recognize the Kobe Mentu!!!

(oh and make sure you're filial to your parents and ancestors. oh sure, you may have had a nervous breakdown or two in high school due to the parents. but they only do it out of love!)

@amg1

I always loved reading your comments on Prosecutor Princess.

And now, I am loving your co-dependency/interdependency analysis of CH.

SY brings out the good in JS whereas EY makes him hurt.

However, I think there is passion bet. JS & EY so the pair I'm rooting for (JS-SY) is in danger. I'll still keep watching, though.

''KM, hyung is here now, I'm here now, KM.'' Gahhhh! *tears*
Heartwrenching scenes, especially seeing KM sat in that spot.

The next half was f**king hilarity though. LSM's plans came into fruition and as a result *someone*'s daddy got PWNed, bad-style and *someone* got the ass-kicking of the century. (Guess he may not need to die of DT2 after all.)

I'm betraying the inner feminist by saying this, but: Ahjusshi power and bromances FTW.

Oh and I watched the first film of The General's Son trilogy this weekend and I laughed so hard through most of it, but it's also quite impressive knowing how young PSM was then (he was younger than KSH) and there are no visual special effects whatsoever in the fight scenes, they are real and raw.
This is one hilarious scene, but just see PSM's skill, it's pretty awe-inspiring if you ask me (once you can pick yourself up from the floor after laughing so hard that is).

@9 belleza

The Azzurri. I..man...well...at least the implosion wasn't as nasty as the French. I will go head-desk a while, knowing that at least the US wasn't the only team being robbed of goals, but also knowing that the Azzurri took an older team to the WC, didn't bring a couple of great young stars, and didn't even look like they were interesting in playing at least half the time. Azzurri....meh. I'll still wear my Azzurri jersey to the soccer arena this weekend. I will take the abuse from the US fans, but dagnab it - my Azzurri will endure.....

@Team Mob / Project Athena,

Congratulations to Isner for taking tennis where it's truly never gone before. That match was the equivalent of an ultra-marathon. It went beyond mere will; you enter a surreal state of mind that's only rivalled by being Lee Ji Ah. For being Lee Ji Ah must truly be from another dimension.

And Japan has made it through. They weren't my pick to make it past the 1st round, but they played a frantic game today. It's a shame that SK and Japan are on opposite sides of the brac. Would be absolutely crazy-Swayze if they met up.

I really feel we're going to see USA vs. South Korea. And, well, I love my K-drama, but LBH hasn't returned my bills regarding our twins. So, sorry, Little Jung Pyo is wearing a Donovan shirt and GO USA!!!

"Anyways, not a Lebron fan, great player, but I have never really enjoyed watching him. "

Lebron is essentially a tight end who plays basketball. If they actually caught travelling or charges in the NBA, he'd be forced to rely on his jump shot, which he hasn't really developed since his 2nd/3rd year in the Association.

I also felt that way about Shaq. Pau Gasol can never be the force that Shaq was, but I enjoy watching Gasol -- is there a more skilled big man that Spaniard? -- much more.

If US plays SK, I'm going to have to root for SK since lets face it, the US is not a soccer country and it won't mean as much to the americans as it would for the koreans...so sorry Belleza I'm gonna have to take your deadbeat baby daddy's side.

@supah: The movement of the trench coat in that fight scene is kind of mesmerizing.

So in this episode everyone is missing someone. Whether they're not really there (KM isn't fish food) or if they're really there, they're missing in spirit. (Interesting to know Mrs.Grouchy likes to sing. She sure isn't like she used to be. Must crack her shell more MJ.)
Oh the beatings. I worried for the fish tank in that one scene.

JY keeps becoming more and more blahsville. KM really wears my expressions in many scenes. Such as:

"Min-woo must be really sad..." KM face = WTF
He just should have said "You didn't trust me at all. I'm also entitled to be upset right now."

Oh Korean Drama. You have one of the greatest "cliched" plot devices that can be rarely used anywhere else.....too many people have the same freaking name. Seung Mo didn't even get a codename for being in the CIA, he just been rolling with what he's got. Also, I like when diving into information on each other, the Lee brothers pretty much got a mirror answer "He's an orphan, but he'll do anything for his ___insert fake father figure___".
How did Mi-joo go to high school and Kang-Mo didn't make it through middle school? How can she go to college? Or did I miss something?

Has anyone ever thought that Asian dramas bring out your "secret slut?"
I mean seriously, in the last 2 mos. I've wanted to be have 1 muddy indiscretion, 2 illegitimate children and 4 illicit affairs!
I thought of this mainly because Kim Nam Gil has yet again been added to my "Anytime Anywhere" list. I just finished watching the first 2 eps of Bad Guy and the best word for my feelings now would be PISSED! Did these Korean drama makers not get my tweet? Headwear is on my Top 5 SWV Moments List! Not to mention the Kimura-san through back. I mean really people! Help a sista out. PLEASE!

Besides the unavoidable KNG lust distraction, I am loving the show; the music, the mystery, the intensity and even the resemblance to other dramas I've seen. At first, I thought I'd hate it (the resemblance) however, I'm quite enjoying it. And now that I've finally started watching the show I can read JB's recaps so that makes it all the more fun! And, can I say I am so impressed by Kim Jae Wook! In Dal's Spring we got little of him but he was definitely less flaming that in AG and in Coffee Prince was "dude-esque" but somehow in this drama he's become "manly." I've truly never gotten that from him before, not even in interviews. But wait, Korean drama makers...does this mean you got my tweet about bastards; the more broken and bitter the better? Aww... ;)

@janna
It's bugging me not knowing where I've seen Mrs. Grouchface before. I think she's an interesting character though. (Or maybe that's just me hoping MJ has a positive female role model in her life -- by positive I mean not a floozie, every other female on this show is a gisaeng or a bar singer. Jung-shik's mother can be plonked into either latter category.)
I'm going to buy that cliché, sorry. I'll buy the ''70s Korea had lots of orphans and no proper people records and that LxM was possibly a common name'' story.
Both stories on their records make sense, I understand SM won't reveal he's from Busan and anything about his life prior to the Samcheong military base, but to state he's from the US? CPY with his influence could've helped him with the lie, probably.
Now, KM hiding the fact he's from Busan is curious… his records state he came from the village they did the stopover at before heading to Seoul.
It's not perfect, but I'll buy it for now, since we know it won't stop there. What will really pee me off is if the two brothers start clashing continually, w/o knowing who the other is, that'd be ultimate cliche.
MJ? College? Really, I must've missed that. She's meant to be 16 or 17 right now, not college age. The nuns must've given her some schooling but I doubt she's had real formal education. We still haven't been told a lot about MJ, we're overdue an MJ backstory.

Second that, JY is so blah right now, and for God's sake if she wishes to be taken seriously by all the men in her life, can she not wear so much pink?!
However, her and KM are both underdogs now, we know these two characters have the looongest way to go in terms of character growth so there's hope for her, I do wish her promised personality overhaul would come sooner.

I get it, writer Jang is a fan of the Top Trumps card game, with each of these larger than life characters being a card in that game, everyone's in it for themselves. Yeesh! That can go either way. I enjoy ahjusshis wet fishslapping each other, but for the remaining 38 eps? Snoozevilllle!
Once again, I'll say this story would've been more awesome in a sageuk, 'a story of four orphaned siblings being forced apart by circumstances - against the backdrop of greedy monarchy feuding over kingdoms in which to build sprawling palaces…' but what we're getting is 'a modern metropolis with lots of rich and influential ahjusshis fighting over pieces of Kangnam over which to build tall, tall skyscrapers.' Not quite the same feel. But... meh! Still promising, especially since the cast is compelling enough and they continue selling their characters to us as well they’re doing, I'm still on board, I'm too into the story and in love with the characters to quit.

Why do I feel Pres. Hong is going to be next sacrifice at the altar of Cho's ambition? As we know now, CPY (who's reverted back to 'Major Cho' batshit insanity mode), has a pattern, everytime he takes a step upwards someone dies. It always happens to be a person SM is tied to. His dad, his beloved doctor friend in the military, and now Pres. Hong -- the closest thing to a friend from an arch enemy of the arch enemy perspective. (But I loooave Hong. Why, why, why? Why him, show?)

Oh! Forgot to mention that the guy in the trenchcoat in the clip is the actor now playing Sung-mo. (Unless you already know that.)

Oh and the little old dear who sells ricecakes, isn't she adorbs?
